“Nicole was amazing with my dog. She was communicative and sent lots of photos and videos during the stay. Super friendly and made me feel at ease while I was away.”

“Willow treated our pets like her own! She was genuine and kind, she sent us constant updates and photos of how our cat and dog were doing and made vacation stress free! I highly suggest trusting willow with your fur babies and home.”

“Choosing Sicily to look after our beloved Summer was the best decision! Right from our meet and greet, I felt confident, and she absolutely surpassed all expectations! She kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and reports on Summer's well-being. I especially appreciated that her photos showed Summer taking a walk and just them hanging out instead of the standard close-ups that I usually get. It gave me a peace of mind and gave me a better sense of how she's doing. Sicily is incredibly thoughtful. She left our home just as clean as she found it, and even took the initiative to run our dishwasher, which was a welcomed surprise. Sicily is an absolute gem, and I sincerely hope she'll be available next time we are out of town!”

“Sarah stayed at our house and cared for our dog, Lizzie, for ten days; it was our first time working together. Sarah came by for a couple of meet and greet visits prior to our trip. It was immediately clear that Sarah and Lizzie were going to become fast friends. Sarah posted photos every day and it was clear that she and Lizzie were hitting it off. She was very responsive to any questions we had, and she did a great job of keeping Lizzie happy by engaging with her, playing fetch, going for car rides, etc. Sarah also managed Lizzie’s somewhat “special” diet very nicely. We would certainly use Sarah for dog/housesitting in the future.”

About: I have been vet sitting since I was 12 years old! I have cared for Parrots, cats, dogs, hamster, fish you name it! I have a huge heart for all animals. I work as a nanny full time so I absolutely love to take care of both people and animals. I have lots of experience being responsible for many families most precious members. I have a golden retriever and a cat myself and they are my whole world! I treat all animals as my own and treat them the way I would want mine to be! I currently have a very flexible work schedule! Lots of availability mostly in the mornings and evenings. I have full availability on weekends. I am open to both pet walking and sitting ! I treat pets as family! They will always be treated as such and I will always follow any rules you request. Safety is my number one priority
“Mayala did amazing with watching our girls. She sent lots of pictures and kept both our high energy dogs entertained and comfortable during her stay. She also made sure our home was in tip top shape before leaving. Would highly recommend and would book again!”

“Daniel was great with our three pups! We have a pointer mix, Rottweiler, and Shar Pei/Lab mix, and his calm demeanor was a perfect fit. He kept us updated on their day and took lots of amazing photos of them. Would highly recommend and will be using him again.”

“Was our first time using Harim for our dog and house care. She was amazing. Would highly recommend her. Dropping in on a dog and or walking a dog is one thing but staying in a house and having those responsibilities aren’t for everyone. Her communication is always excellent and prompt and she left our home in excellent condition and our dog happy and healthy! Just a wonderful person !”
“Rachael is truly an angel sent from heaven! From the moment we met her (and she met our cats), I knew she was going to be the perfect fit. She went above and beyond, sending photo updates twice a day — one in the morning and one in the evening — which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Unlike other pet sitters we’ve had in the past, I had zero worries about our babies while we were gone. Opal and Bruno were so clearly loved and cared for that I honestly think they were a little disappointed when it was us walking through the door instead of Rachael. 😂 If you’re looking for someone reliable, attentive, and genuinely loving toward your pets, look no further. We can’t recommend Rachael enough! I’m sure Opal and Bruno are waiting for us to leave town again so she can come over. ❤️”

“Allie is the best! She attuned to our dog very quickly and from there they developed a wonderful relationship. Our dog loves and trusts her. Great communication, frequent updates, and very reliable. We will be repeat clients for sure!”

“Shannon had her hands full with my Aussie. He is a full blown herder and more vocal than your average husky. Additionally, Ozzy was recovering from a cold and antibiotics were making him feel yucky. Shannon was incredibly resourceful and worked with me to find solutions to help my fur baby feel comfortable and safe despite his mom being far away for a whole week. I sincerely appreciated her dedication!”

“Audrey stayed with my two dogs at my house. She communicated clearly and took excellent care of the dogs and house. We have had her pet sit before and we will definitely book her again for future trips.”

“Cedell was great! I came home and saw that the tv was set to pet tv and our window ledge for the cats was fixed after it had fallen off. I could tell our babies were so well cared for and communication was fantastic!”

“When Emily took care of my girl over spring break, I was nothing but comfortable the entire time being away from my dog. She was very loving and kind to her: always made sure her water bowl was full, fed her on time, walked her and let her sniff everything, but most importantly, Emily gave Jill space to get to know her on Jill’s terms. That’s important to me because she didn’t make Jill feel uncomfortable or pressured to like her, she let it happen naturally, and boy did it. I can’t recommend Emily enough, thank you!”

“This was the first time I left my dog for an extended stay with someone who was not friends/family. I felt very safe with the house sit/dog sit arrangement and that allowed me to relax and enjoy my trip. I appreciated how communicative she is - sent photos of their jaunts to the dog park and let me know that he got into a tussle with a cat. Highly recommend her!”

“Zack did an amazing job with our pup! He not only kept us updated but sent little videos and pics throughout the weekend to put us at ease. He also left the house in wonderful condition when he left and we will definitely be using him again for future trips!! Highly recommend!!”

About: Family, friends and acquaintances of theirs have relied on me as a source of care that they consider a piece of their family. If you’re that kinda person , I might just the right fit. I like to understand an animals personality, and created a trusted bond. I am willing to do whatever silly thing your animal requires to feel safe and loved. I am very flexible and am open to discussing your needs for safety/care and the animals need as well. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. I often am available most Holidays. Pet sitting is not just something to bring in an extra income but something that brings real joy, happiness, and fulfillment to my life. While having an animal for me, every single day isn’t realistic unfortunately ,I find that the ability to do this periodically throughout the year and to be around animals is very rewarding . This also gives me the ability to focus entirely on your animal and the comfort they need when family is away. I did security for nine years and have a level one fingerprint clearance card. I will treat your home with respect and when watching animals and my own home, I do not watch multiple animals from different households to ensure that no issues were to ever arise in a negative altercation. I do have a preference of housesitting at clients homes due to just the comfortability of the animals environment not changing. They tend to already have a little bit of anxiety with the owner, leaving and changing their environment can sometimes for some animals heighten that anxiety.
About: I have been caring for dogs for many years since I was a teenager. Since being part of a village means being a villager I am constantly helping care for animals of friends and family. I have a dog of my own whom I love and am always looking to interact with more. I am gentle, patient, reliable, and take caring for others pets very seriously. I work full time Monday through Friday until 5:30. I am available in the evenings on weekdays and fully available Friday through Sunday. I am very flexible. I can accommodate any dog’s needs easily. This can be as basic as feeding, walking, crating or more complex such as administering medication or bathing dependent on the instructions of the owners. I would care for the pets in the client’s home as my current residence does not allow pets.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Guadalupe is $50

Shannon was very communicative and extremely helpful when our dog unexpectedly wasn’t feeling well. She took wonderful care of Cleo and our home, and even went above and beyond by washing the towels and sheets and remaking the bed before we returned. We really appreciated her care and attentiveness and look forward to having her back!

Katie is amazing! My Ravioli has some behavioural challenges and can be a nervous boy but she was confident, knowledgeable and took excellent care of him. He really likes Katie and has lots of fun with her! Katie is great with sending updates and photos so you feel assured your pet is in great care.

It’s never easy inviting someone you don’t know into your home to care for your most precious family members, but we gave Jadon the opportunity, and he exceeded our expectations. Jadon stayed at our home for five days while caring for our three dogs, two cats, and our reptiles, and he did an outstanding job. He was respectful of our home, dependable, and took excellent care of every one of our animals. We came home to happy, healthy pets and a well-cared-for house. Throughout our trip, Jadon communicated with us by asking questions when needed, sending photos, and providing regular updates. His thoughtful communication gave us real peace of mind and made it clear that he genuinely cared about our pets. We are so grateful for the care he provided and would absolutely recommend Jadon to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate pet sitter. We wouldn’t hesitate to book him again! Thanks Jadon!!!

Our dogs are our children now that we have an empty nest. They are spoiled and it's hard for us to leave them behind when we travel. We were so glad to have found Maria. She is extremely kind and caring. She watched our babies at our house and was very patient with our list of weird things our dogs did/needed. We got regular pupdates and we were extremely happy with her care. It's hard to have a stranger in your house and caring for your loved ones but we felt confident with Maria that both the house and the pups were in good hands. We will be using her services regularly.

Carly was the best! I’m super picky about who I leave my animals with and she made me feel so comfortable the entire time with tons of photos & updates. She loved on my boys like they are her own and I will definitely be reaching back out the next time I travel!

Courtney always goes above and beyond with Wendy! She sent me lots of pictures and played with her so much. She is caring and loving of all animals and amazing with dogs. Wendy is shy and skeptical if she doesn’t know someone, but she has adored Courtney since the moment they met.

We needed a last-minute pet sitter for our two senior yorkies and one cat, and finding Andrea was truly a blessing. She went above and beyond anything we expected! Not only did she send plenty of photos and videos throughout the day, but she also cared about our well-being and safety while we were away. Her kindness, thoughtfulness, and communication gave us complete peace of mind. Most importantly, our fur babies absolutely loved Drea! Seeing how comfortable, happy, and well cared for they were meant everything to us. If anyone is looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter, I would recommend Andrea without hesitation. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of our babies, Andrea 😻🐶🐶❤️

Victoria is an angel. I didn’t worry for a second this trip. Her genuine love for all animals is more than apparent. I could not have asked for more. My animals were clearly loved on. I got better pictures than I have ever managed to take myself and she went above and beyond to put my daughters mind at ease with her hamster critters :-) I hope she is willing to come back very soon.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Guadalupe on Rover is $44.94 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 5,031 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Guadalupe. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Guadalupe walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Guadalupe maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Guadalupe choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Guadalupe. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
