“Jylesha is Fantastic with my animals! She loves them, walks my dog, keeps my place so nice and is very responsive communicating and sending pics and vids. My animals love her! Ty Jylesha! ❤️”

“Courtney was fantastic with my GSD-mix, Raina! She was great at following my instructions to the letter while going above and beyond with providing updates and doing the little things for her. On top of that, Courtney is extremely respectful and well-mannered - she left my apartment looking spot less, and left the kindest note complimenting my pup (which means more than any compliment someone could give me). Thank you Courtney!”

“Dawn was incredible! We came home to two very happy, healthy, and well loved pups. I was unavailable to contact sometimes due to our trip and she was still very diligent in sending photos, videos, and updates! My larger pup has had some health scares and Dawn was very detailed in her notes and was willing to take her to the vet immediately upon a small change in behavior but waited for my input ☺️. I will definitely be reaching out to Dawn in the future for any of our needs. I’ve never felt so confident and comfortable in the care our dogs received. We got our honeymoon and our dogs got almost two weeks of spoiling! Not to mention that this was a last minute booking due to our other sitter canceling with less than a weeks notice for a 12 day trip!!”

About: I have experience with both dogs and cats! I am super flexible this summer! I am looking forward to meeting some new fur-friends! Please book me at least 2 days in advance! I am very flexible this summer besides a two week trip at the beginning of July! I am not working since I’m attending graduate school in the fall so I’ll be super available to hang out with your fur babies! I don’t offer house sitting at my house but I can stay over at yours! I will treat your space with respect and follow any instructions you have left to ensure the upkeep and cleanliness of your space!
“Harmony was an absolute lifesaver! She stepped in at the last minute after our original sitter canceled unexpectedly. From the start, she was sweet, attentive, and communicative. She took wonderful care of both our apartment and our pets, and we came home to happy animals and a spotless space. We did have a small misunderstanding—which was totally my fault 🤦🏽♀️—but Harmony handled it with grace and professionalism. I truly hope she’s open to sitting for us again in the future. Highly recommend her!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Mattea provided for our dog, Siena. From the very beginning, Mattea was attentive, communicative, and genuinely caring—it gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Siena can be a bit particular, but she immediately felt comfortable, which says so much about Mattea’s calm and kind approach. We loved receiving updates and photos that showed just how happy and well cared for Siena was. It was clear she wasn’t just being looked after—she was being truly cared for and loved. When we returned, Siena was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a wonderful time. We’re so grateful to have found someone as reliable and thoughtful as Mattea. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care!”

“Booking with Lily was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. She is truly one of the most professional and communicative people I’ve ever worked with. She’s incredibly intelligent, thoughtful, and genuinely caring — not just with the dogs, but in every aspect of the house sit. Both of my dogs are on a special diet, and she handled their feeding instructions perfectly. That level of attention to detail is absolutely essential for us, and she delivered with total reliability and care. What truly surprised me, though, was how beautifully she took care of our home. In the past, I’ve often come back from trips feeling overwhelmed because the house needed cleaning after a sit — especially with dogs tracking in dirt. This time, I walked in and felt like the house had been professionally cleaned. It was such a gift to return to a calm, spotless space. I would highly recommend Lily without hesitation. If she’s available when we travel again, I will absolutely be booking her.”

“Kaelin did a wonderful job taking care of our house and two dogs for six days while we were out of town. She sent pictures daily and seemed to really enjoy her time with the dogs. I recommend her services wholeheartedly!”

“I’m so grateful for the amazing care Garrett provided for my cat, Adele. He was attentive, responsible, and kept me updated, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Adel was clearly very well taken care of and comfortable, and I could tell she received a lot of attention and care. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

“Isabel did an amazing job watching my dog for a week. He was so happy and I got a lot of updates during the week. She also took good care of our home and left it clean and spotless. Will definitely book her again.”

“Stacey took great care of our dog, Lexie. She sent a cute picture and updated us with messages. The house looked immaculate when we got home from vacation. We will definitely ask her to come another time.”

About: I have been petsitting and dog walking my neighborhood pets for several years and had the privilege to work as a research technician who helped in husbandry at UNC Chapel Hills Division of Comparative Medicine canine unit. I love making new furry friends and gaining experience to help my pre-veterinary journey as a college student! I am available every day of the week starting June 30th seeing that i am home for the summer from college. I am available during the hours of 8am-8pm and am interested in house sitting. I have a fenced yard for my dog to keep them from getting out and my cat is an inside cat who stay in the upstairs bedrooms
About: I have over 5 years of professional zookeeping experience, specifically working with animals ranging from cockroaches to fish to river otters (and more!). This has given me a lot of practice with patience, attention and observation when working with animals. I am skilled in noticing small changes in animals that may be a sign of something larger. I am a medical foster through the SPCA of Wake County, and I have a soft spot for animals with medical needs. I have experience giving medications in multiple methods, including by injection. I work full time 4 days per week (10 hour shifts) and receive my schedule over a month in advance. On work days, I am available after 4:30 pm. Weekends are generally best for individuals that need more structured time together. I value building relationships with animals on their terms, and am very adaptable to different needs. I have a lot of patience for animals who may need a little more time, and energy for the animals who want to be friends right away! Our pets are individuals, and I see the importance in treating them as such.

“Joan was especially attentive to our dog Ember post-op. Ember required hot and cold compression on her leg which Joan kindly administered for us. Ember also had to wear a cone which she did not like. By her own initiative, Joan slept on the couch so she could keep Ember company since Ember couldn’t navigate the stairs with the cone as she recovered. We would never ask Joan to do that- this is just the level of care and comfort she shows our dogs. We appreciate Joan so much!”
“Jimmy was an excellent dog sitter reliable, caring, and great with my dogs. He kept me updated while I was away, and I came home to a happy, well cared for dog and house Highly recommend!”

“Nate was great! This is my first time using Rover or having anyone watch my dog. At first I was a little concerned about having somebody stay in my house but with Nate I had no concerns or stresses. He was very kind to Redford and very professional. He did everything exactly how he said he would. He would send me daily updates with pictures of Redford. Redford is not the most easy dog to be around but Nate was very patient and kind to him and so Redford settled right in with him just as he would with me. I definitely will be using Nate in the future and said highly suggest you do the same ???”

I am so glad Sofia was available to take care of Kimchi while I was out of town for the weekend! She was great with sending pictures and keeping me updated. As soon as we met Sofia, Kimchi took a liking to her. Sofia had great communication with me during her stay and left my home in great shape. I would recommend her services and will be sure to book her again in the future!

Madison was amazing! She took great care of my two Golden Retrievers while I was out of town. It's always hard leaving my fur babies, but I had complete peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. She sent pictures and kept me updated throughout my trip, which I really appreciated. I will definitely be booking with Madison again for my next trip!

Caroline was an absolute sweetheart! She took amazing care of our dogs and our home while we were away. She was very communicative throughout the entire stay, keeping us updated and giving us peace of mind. We came home to happy dogs and a well-cared-for house. We truly appreciated her kindness, reliability, and attention to detail. We would happily book with Caroline again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!

Madison stayed with my dog for 3 nights. She communicated well, sent photos and updates. I felt completely at ease knowing my pup was in good hands! She washed bedding and towels before she left and had the house in great shape as I left it. I highly recommend her for your pet care needs.

Franklin was amazing, my older dog is a "little" shy to say the least and Mr. Franklin was absolutely positively wonderful with him, got him to come out to play, to eat as well as just getting him out of his kennel. As normally he would just be sad and hide the entire time we are gone. Definitely will hope he is available for the next sitting position. Thank you Franklin!! 😇💙🙏🐶🎉🤝

First time leaving my pup with anyone other than family and I couldn't have chosen better than Autumn. She definitely relieved my anxiety over leaving my anxious dog. Autumn took great care of Sheyna, worked on her anxiety while taking her on walks, and sent me updates and pictures twice a day. She also left the house so clean you could hardly tell she'd been here. Sheyna's made a new friend and I've found an amazing sitter for her.

Dawn was absolutely wonderful. She stayed at my house with my two dogs and cat and took amazing care of them. She sent videos and pictures of each of them throughout the day, was able to give all the medications, and took amazing care of my home. It was great to be able to just relax on my trip and not have to worry about my fur babies and home.

Jordan was more than outstanding. It was the first time in a long time I was able to go on vacation without worrying. Complete transparency on a couple days he knew he’d be out for more than 4 hours, worked with me on a complicated schedule and most of all - PROMPT communication and tons of pics & videos. He went above and BEYOND for my puppy and I was really thankful and impressed by that alone. I would recommend him to anyone and I’m so so grateful I met and was able to trust someone to stay in my home while I was in another country. Thank you Jordan! The animals were clearly so well taken care of and more.

Highly recommend Helena! We have three cats, two of whom require medication for chronic illnesses, and Helena knows exactly how to get them to take their meds. She also gets my female cat to eat all her food, despite the fact that her appetite is waning due to kidney disease. We never worry about leaving our babies in Helena’s care — she’s a pro!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Raleigh on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,991 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Raleigh. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Raleigh walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Raleigh maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Raleigh choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Raleigh. On Rover:

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
