âMy dog Reese is so happy to spend the day with Arden! By our second and third visits, Reese had learned what it means when I say âyouâre going to see your friend Arden today,â and she happy whines in the car when we get close to her house! Very grateful to have her as a backup parent for when I need a break.â

About: Iâve been around animals my entire life and grew up with dogs, cats, birds, fish, rodents, and farm animals. Caring for pets has always been a normal part of life for me, both through my own animals and through pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors. Over the years Iâve raised my own puppies and kittens, cared for senior pets, and managed medications and special care needs. One of my own dogs (German Shepherd Dog) was diagnosed with cancer at a young age, and I cared for him throughout treatment until he passed away at age four. That experience taught me how important consistency, patience, and close attention can be when a pet isnât feeling their best. I also currently care for my senior dog who requires medication. Today I have a labradoodle that Iâve had since he was a puppy, two cats, and my senior dog. I take pride in training my dogs to be well-behaved and socialized. In addition to dogs and cats, as stated previously, Iâve cared for a wide variety of animals including lizards, snakes, chickens, rodents, fish, a sun conure parrot, horses, donkeys, alpacas, and pigs. I know every animal is different, and I do my best to learn their routines, personalities, and quirks so they feel comfortable while youâre away. Whether your pet is young and energetic, elderly, shy, or needs a little extra attention, Iâll care for them as if they were my own. I am a career biochemical scientist and lost my job in April. I am now having a blast working as a full-time stay at home mom. My 1 year old son also loves pets and would need to occasionally accompany me! I am available pretty much around the clock. I prioritize keeping pets on their normal routine as much as possible. I will follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, and any household rules youâve established to the best of my ability. I know that consistency helps pets feel comfortable and reduces stress while their owners are away. In a clientâs home, I will make sure pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, walks, potty breaks, fresh water, and companionship. Iâm happy to send regular updates and photos so you know how theyâre doing. In my own home, pets are treated like part of the family. I maintain a safe, clean environment and supervise interactions carefully. I currently have a friendly labradoodle and two cats, so Iâm very accustomed to managing different personalities, energy levels, and care needs.
About: Iâve been dog walking and pet sitting since I was 19. I absolutely love dogs, taking them on walks (or runs if needed!), and just giving them all my love. Iâm working from home and have a pretty flexible schedule. Iâm able to help out anywhere from once to probably two times a day if you want! I live in a two bedroom townhome with my 8 year old heeler. My dog is very sweet and likes to hang and walk with most dogs but can be shy when meeting a new friend or territorial (just loudly barks) over her bed and crate. She is less excited about hyper furry friends but am happy to always do a meet and greet before booking. Also happy to stay at your place so long as I can bring my dog too :)
âAbsolutely amazing caregivers!!! My little angel had a blast with Yamy and Alfonso. They are completely understanding and gentle to my little fur baby. 110% booking again!!â

âMy pup got along great with her dog Otis, and she has a backyard which my dog loves roaming and sun bathing so it worked out perfect! She was available last minute when we needed help which we greatly appreciated!â

âReâAnna was so kind and understanding. She was able to accept my last minute booking for doggy day care. Rambo had such a good time. Her kids were really good with him too! Definitely will be booking with her when Iâm in the area again!!!â

I am pretty observant on behavior and can tend to whatever needs. I am very active(having 2 boys will do that) but I can also lay back. This also isnât my first rover account. I used to partner with rover a few years back but since having kids and life changes, had to recreate a new updated account. Iâm currently a stay at home momma during the week and groom during the weekend. My hubby is home weekends so pets are never left unattended. I have a fenced yard and love to be outdoors if weather permits. I also wonât pass up a cuddle session if thats what decided for the day <3

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Raleigh
Karissa, Robert & their children provide the perfect little oasis for their canine guests. My pup now starts to wiggle when we pull into their driveway (& is appropriately tired when she gets home!)They are communicative & all of the dogs look so happy and well cared for in the sweet photos they share. Thank you all for the peace of mind!

As always, Gus loves going to Julieâs! Heâs so comfortable there and whines with excitement when we pull in her driveway. We had a special circumstance today and Julie was kind and flexible with a fluctuating pickup time. We appreciate Julie and the care she gives Gus every time đ

Fraggle made himself right at home during his meet & greet six weeks before and again upon arrival at his first day of daycare! It speaks volumes to see your dog instantly comfortable in a new space, with new people. Isabel and Drew demonstrate a genuine love of dogs and an interest in understanding their needs and normal schedule. Fraggle has an upcoming longer stay already booked, and I know heâll be in good hands!

My dog came home exhausted in the best way possible! Dee took such great care of my little goofball and kept me updated with pictures! I highly recommend Dee to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely compassionate toward animals. I will definitely be rebooking in the future!
Sloane is absolutely amazing! Finding someone you trust with your dogs can be tough, but she has completely restored my faith in pet sitters. Bear and Hamilton always come home happily exhausted and clearly well-loved. I feel so at ease leaving them in her hands. Absolutely recommend. Thank you Sloane

Austin and Morgan are the best!!! Their home is safe and reliable, I am lucky to have them whenever I need to travel to Raleigh with my pup. My dog recognizes their neighborhood and cries out with excitement when we turn up their street. Iâm so grateful for them

Your doggie will be in wonderful hands. Itâs clear that Mara loves animals and it shows in how sheâs taken care of our pup. Mara is communicative, punctual, thoughtful, and updates us with great photos/videos throughout the day. And for Winnie - she lives her best life with Mara! She always comes home tired after a big day of walks, play time, and parks. We are so lucky we found Mara.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your petâwhether thatâs early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Raleigh commute.
If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
