“Rebecca is a wonderful Rover sitter! She sent adorable photos and videos of our pup throughout the day, and made us feel very secure with Boba being in her home. We highly recommend contacting Rebecca for pet care and will be booking with her in the future!”

“Tania took great care of our dog! He loved playing in the backyard with Oreo and was tried and happy when we picked him up. Tania was very thoughtful and we felt comfortable leaving our dog with her.”

About: Hey there! We are Jesse and Diana and we live in the heart of Cary with our teenage daughter, 9 year old black lab mix Delta, 5 year old whippet Skadi, and 4 year old chihuahua Pepita. We also have two cats, Steve and Max who are 12 and 8 and are great with all dogs. Sometimes I think Max is more of a dog than a cat! Our dogs are good girls (spayed) and absolutely love to play! We have about a half acre fenced back yard that they can run freely in to get out all their zoomies. Both of our dogs are fully vaccinated and on flea & tick medication. We have had dogs all our lives and they have always been an important part of our family. We have experience with training certified therapy dogs as well. Our golden retriever, Molly was actively involved in working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients as a certified therapy dog. She passed away last year at 14 years old. She was a good girl. We understand all dogs have different needs and we will be extremely accommodating. Additionally, we work from home so your dog would never have to be alone. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions! We work from home, which gives us the time to be here for your pup! We also try to be very flexible with pickup and dropoff times to make it as convenient as possible. We have a completely fenced backyard (approx. 1/2 acre), which gives the dogs the space to run, play, and to just burn energy in a safe environment! They are never alone and always supervised when playing in the backyard.
“Ana was so understanding about us not being able to show up with our dog and communicated the whole way through! Thank you Ana, even though we couldn’t make it to have you watch our puppy!!”

“We highly recommend Bonnie and will call on her again for day care for our Havanese Zuzu. She was gentle and thoughtful. Bonnie was accommodating with our schedule. We were able to relax and enjoy our visit with family”

About: This is like a dream come true, my love for dogs and animals in general started with my first dog named Prince! He was so loveable. He’d come up to you and hug like a human! He was trained by me and loved to just be around family! That’s how all my dogs are and even dogs of family and friends. Thanks for stopping by look forward to taking care of your fur baby Work from home so I have plenty of time for walks and play time. I enjoy it because it’s more time to have fun and enjoy the outdoors Every member of the family is different. Each one has its own personality. So feel free to let me know what makes them happy! That’s my goal!
“Sharon is a wonderful dog sitter. She took out old sweet Bodi in for the day and made sure he was happy and calm. He got along very well with her two sweet pups and that’s saying a lot for our guy; he’s afraid of most dogs. He melded seamlessly with her pack. When I picked him up he was happy and calm. It was a great day. We will return to Sharon every time we need day care for Bodi while we are in the Apex area.”

“Javarris is an excellent communicator! We received updates on our dog throughout the day. Nala had a great day with Javarris and his family, especially with their pup. I look forward to work with him again.”

“Bean had a wonderful time at Drake's. Drake was attentive and responsive, he provided a safe fun environment for the dogs to explore and play as well as sent photos and video. THANK YOU!”

About: What sets me apart is my lifelong experience with dogs and the level of care I provide. I grew up helping my grandparents raise and care for puppies, so I’ve been around dogs of all ages—from newborn puppies to senior dogs—for as long as I can remember. I was also fortunate to have my own dog for 13 wonderful years, and caring for him taught me so much. He required a strict medication schedule, a specialized diet, and daily attention, so I’m comfortable following detailed care instructions and giving extra support to senior dogs or pets with special needs. As a registered nurse, providing compassionate, attentive care comes naturally to me. Over the years, I’ve taken my dogs to training classes and grooming appointments, and I’ve even groomed them myself. I also spent many years pet sitting for neighbors and walking dogs around my neighborhood. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine, and I treat every pet with the same patience, love, and attention I’d want for my own. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine!!! I’m a registered nurse and work three 12-hour shifts each week, which means I have several days off with plenty of time to dedicate to caring for pets. On my days off, I enjoy being active, going on walks, and spending time outdoors, so having a dog to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. I have my schedule far in advance, in order to plan accordingly! Caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and spending time with pets is a great way for me to relax outside of nursing. I’ll always make sure every pet gets the love, attention, and care they deserve. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, my priority is making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. I know every pet has their own personality and needs, so I take the time to learn about their schedule, feeding routine, favorite activities, medications, and any special instructions before each stay. As a registered nurse, I’m detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable following specific care plans. Whether that’s administering medications, sticking to strict feeding times, or recognizing changes in behavior, I take every responsibility seriously. I love staying active, so I’m happy to provide walks, playtime, enrichment, and plenty of attention. I live in a town home in a very pet friendly neighborhood, with lots of greenery and places to walk/ run and hang in the yard. For pets who prefer a quieter environment, I’m just as happy to spend time cuddling, relaxing, and giving them companionship. I’ll also keep owners updated with photos and messages so they can have peace of mind knowing their pet is happy and well cared for. I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, kindness, and lots of love.

JV came through for us when we needed a sitter for a last minute day trip. He was very accommodating and communication was fast and easy. He provided me updates through the day. His family was lovely too! Barkley came home happy and enjoyed his time with them. We will definitely be rebooking in the near future. 😊

Yaryna did a great job taking care of Stella. She was watching Stella during the day when we were moving into our house and we couldn't have been more thankful to know our pup was in good hands. We had a somewhat last-minute request and Yaryna was very understanding and sweet. Stella had a great time and we would definitely book with Yaryna again!

Rebecca is a wonderful Rover sitter! She sent adorable photos and videos of our pup throughout the day, and made us feel very secure with Boba being in her home. We highly recommend contacting Rebecca for pet care and will be booking with her in the future!

Bonnie was new to us and our Brittany, Gracie, which can be concerning especially since our dog (or maybe us!) can get anxious and wary of new situations. But Bonnie greeted Gracie who didn’t hesitate to say hello to her! Gracie felt very comfortable in Bonnie’s home and enjoyed the attention she paid. Bonnie is an obvious dog lover and great “dog sitter!” Gracie will be happy to see Bonnie again!!

Sharon is a wonderful dog sitter. She took out old sweet Bodi in for the day and made sure he was happy and calm. He got along very well with her two sweet pups and that’s saying a lot for our guy; he’s afraid of most dogs. He melded seamlessly with her pack. When I picked him up he was happy and calm. Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cary commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
