“Zainab took wonderful care of Niko, even wiping his paws coming inside from the salted sidewalks. She truly cares for the dogs she sits and sends adorable pictures and lovely updates. Niko came home a happy boy :D”

About: Hey there! We are Jesse and Diana and we live in the heart of Cary with our teenage daughter, 9 year old black lab mix Delta, 5 year old whippet Skadi, and 4 year old chihuahua Pepita. We also have two cats, Steve and Max who are 12 and 8 and are great with all dogs. Sometimes I think Max is more of a dog than a cat! Our dogs are good girls (spayed) and absolutely love to play! We have about a half acre fenced back yard that they can run freely in to get out all their zoomies. Both of our dogs are fully vaccinated and on flea & tick medication. We have had dogs all our lives and they have always been an important part of our family. We have experience with training certified therapy dogs as well. Our golden retriever, Molly was actively involved in working with Alzheimer's and dementia patients as a certified therapy dog. She passed away last year at 14 years old. She was a good girl. We understand all dogs have different needs and we will be extremely accommodating. Additionally, we work from home so your dog would never have to be alone. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions! We work from home, which gives us the time to be here for your pup! We also try to be very flexible with pickup and dropoff times to make it as convenient as possible. We have a completely fenced backyard (approx. 1/2 acre), which gives the dogs the space to run, play, and to just burn energy in a safe environment! They are never alone and always supervised when playing in the backyard.

About: This is like a dream come true, my love for dogs and animals in general started with my first dog named Prince! He was so loveable. He’d come up to you and hug like a human! He was trained by me and loved to just be around family! That’s how all my dogs are and even dogs of family and friends. Thanks for stopping by look forward to taking care of your fur baby Work from home so I have plenty of time for walks and play time. I enjoy it because it’s more time to have fun and enjoy the outdoors Every member of the family is different. Each one has its own personality. So feel free to let me know what makes them happy! That’s my goal!

“Absolutely amazing. Our dog Ellie had such a great time. So communicative and kind and just everything you could ever want from a pet sitter. Above and beyond. Ellie can’t wait to go back!”

“My two pups Buddy & Peanut enjoyed their social time with Amanda, the children, the other pups, and of course Mel. So similar to the home environment they are use to (with a few extra friends) vs a loud barking & over populated daycare/kennel. No stress and pups come home tired and happy!!”

“Sharon is a wonderful dog sitter. She took out old sweet Bodi in for the day and made sure he was happy and calm. He got along very well with her two sweet pups and that’s saying a lot for our guy; he’s afraid of most dogs. He melded seamlessly with her pack. When I picked him up he was happy and calm. It was a great day. We will return to Sharon every time we need day care for Bodi while we are in the Apex area.”

“Javarris is an excellent communicator! We received updates on our dog throughout the day. Nala had a great day with Javarris and his family, especially with their pup. I look forward to work with him again.”

About: ⚠️ PLEASE NOTE: We only board Dachshunds (no other breeds). 💕 For 30+ years of marriage, our home has been lively with dachshunds and kiddos. But between becoming empty nesters and sadly losing our sweet dachshund, Bella, it feels so quiet. Hosting dogs is our way of bringing back the cuddles and laughs we've been missing so much. This is deeply personal to us, which is why we exclusively host dachshunds and only one family's dogs at a time. This ensures your doxies receive our undivided attention in our quiet, safe Cary home, completely free from the stress of unfamiliar dogs. To give you peace of mind, we send text updates, photos, and videos throughout the day so you always know your pups are happy and loved. ✈️RDU: Because we are located so close to RDU, we offer airport pick-up and drop-off service for a small extra fee to make your travel days stress-free! I work from home and because we do not currently have any children or pets in our home, we will tailor our daily routine around your dog, maintaining their meal, treat, and potty break times. Your dog will never have to share space or compete for attention with any other animals. Our home is a doggie paradise: The Couch: Our living room has a giant, low profile, comfy couch loaded with soft blankets and pillows...perfect to burrow under. Sunny Window Bench: We have a killer sunny window bench that overlooks our entire backyard, making it the absolute perfect spot for warm midday naps or watching “Dog TV” (AKA lizards, squirrels, & birds). The Backyard: We have a large securely fenced backyard with plenty of grass for zoomies and sunny spots for afternoon sunbathing.

“Drake is an excellent sitter and communicator! We are so happy to have found him. Tank enjoyed playing with Stella in the spacious backyard and came home worn out. Thanks again for an awesome day of daycare!”

About: If your pet could swipe right on a sitter, I’m pretty sure they’d pick me. I’ve been caring for animals since I was about 12, and honestly, it feels like I’ve had a leash or treat pouch in my hand ever since. From childhood pets to neighbors’ pups to friends’ cats who “don’t like anyone” (but somehow curl up in my lap), animals have always been part of my daily life. I’m new to Rover but not to caring for others pets. Why choose me? *A lifetime of experience: Growing up with pets taught me patience, intuition, and how to read an animal’s needs long before they can tell you. *Calm, confident care: Whether your pet is shy, energetic, quirky, or a total diva, I meet them where they are and make sure they feel safe and understood. *Reliable and communicative: You’ll get updates, photos, and the peace of mind that your furry family member is happy and cared for. *Genuine love for animals: This isn’t a side gig for me—it’s something I truly enjoy. Your pet becomes “my” pet while you’re away. I currently volunteer with American Brittany Rescue and the AKC. I have volunteered with the Wake County Animal Shelter in years past. I have also owned and volunteered with 2 certified therapy dogs. We visited hospitals, nursing homes and schools. Our current dog is not a good candidate for therapy dog work, but we hope to participate with Therapy Dogs Inc. again in the future. Our dog and cat are both up to date on vaccines and take monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention. If you want someone who treats your fur baby like their own and brings warmth, fun, and dependability to every visit, I’m your gal. Let’s make your pet’s day a great one. I request that dogs staying with us be up to date on vaccines and on flea and tick preventative. I currently work part-time from home and my hours are somewhat flexible. If your pet is in my home, I can take breaks as needed for feeding, potty breaks, and pats. Mon-Fri from 12-4 pm is less flexible for me if I am coming to your home to do a walk or potty break, as those are my busiest work hours. I will follow your provided schedule to a T, taking into account your specific routines, wishes, and needs. I understand it can be stressful for pets when their families leave, and I will do everything possible to ease that stress and make sure your pets are happy and relaxed. I am always super careful about closing doors, latching gates, and making sure everything is in order before leaving each home. Your pet's safety and well being is my number one priority. I have a very friendly dog that can accompany me on visits and walks if your dog would like companionship.
“Qian is great! She showed lots of love and care to my dog, sending many text updates, photos and videos. Toys, multiple trips to the dog park, and cuddle time on the sofa. My dog truly had an amazing time. I highly recommend Qian and will be surely be rebooking.”

I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the week. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, and I will do my best to maintain their normal routine while you’re away. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. “Sarah is super flexible with my odd schedule, and gives Ellie pup a comfy and fun stay! Ellie comes home very sleepy and content from her nice days with Sarah. Would recommend.”

“Took care of our pup last minute when our other daycare plans fell through, and I’m glad it did because we would use them again in a heartbeat. Took care of our pup like their own and have a great environment for any pup!”

About: We’re an active, dog-loving couple who miss having a furry friend around - so we put all that energy into the pups we host. We raised a golden retriever for over 12 years, through eight different homes, which taught us how to stay flexible and make any space feel like home for a dog. We’ve also cared for the fur-babies of our friends and family over the years, so medium and large breeds are totally our comfort zone. Carleigh works from home every day, and John is home four days a week, meaning your dog gets tons of attention, playtime, and company. We’re not ready for a new pup of our own yet, but we love having short-term four-legged guests to spoil. Pet care fits naturally into our daily routine because one of us is almost always home, so your dog will get tons of attention, supervision, and company throughout each day. We love taking breaks to go on walks, play outside, or just hang out with a furry friend while we work. Since we’re already active and outside often, adding a dog to our routine is fun and effortless. We treat every dog like a temporary member of the family. Our home is clean, calm, and set up to be dog-friendly, especially for medium and large breeds. We pay close attention to routines, instructions, and any quirks or preferences your dog has. We’re big on communication - you’ll get updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pup is doing. Whether it’s play time, relaxing, or sticking to their normal schedule, we make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for from the moment they arrive.

JV came through for us when we needed a sitter for a last minute day trip. He was very accommodating and communication was fast and easy. He provided me updates through the day. His family was lovely too! Barkley came home happy and enjoyed his time with them. We will definitely be rebooking in the near future. 😊

Rebecca is a wonderful Rover sitter! She sent adorable photos and videos of our pup throughout the day, and made us feel very secure with Boba being in her home. We highly recommend contacting Rebecca for pet care and will be booking with her in the future!

Bonnie was new to us and our Brittany, Gracie, which can be concerning especially since our dog (or maybe us!) can get anxious and wary of new situations. But Bonnie greeted Gracie who didn’t hesitate to say hello to her! Gracie felt very comfortable in Bonnie’s home and enjoyed the attention she paid. Bonnie is an obvious dog lover and great “dog sitter!” Gracie will be happy to see Bonnie again!!

Sharon is a wonderful dog sitter. We will return to Sharon every time we need day care for Bodi while we are in the Apex area.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Cary commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
