“Sarah is super flexible with my odd schedule, and gives Ellie pup a comfy and fun stay! Ellie comes home very sleepy and content from her nice days with Sarah. Would recommend.”

“It was our first dog sitter experience and it went good. Our puppy came back jumping and wagging tail. The hosts were very nice, fast and comfortable to communicate with. We appreciate their hospitality and care of our puppy.”

About: I have grown up with dogs and love having them around the house! Your pup will love my large fenced-in backyard for plenty of play time! I work from home and have a flexible schedule to provide plenty of supervision for your pup! I am available as needed and often at the last minute! I have a large fenced-in backyard, and a user-friendly indoors, plus my own dog who loves all dogs! Your pup will be very well cared for!
“Our sweet Fred had such a great day with Tiffany and Chase! I'm always worried for Fred to stay somewhere new for the day but Tiffany was so communicative and sent plenty of pictures throughout the day so I could see that he was happy and having fun. Will definitely book again!”

“Stephen took great care of my dog Poppy! I wouldn't hesitate to have him look after her again, and I know that Poppy is excited to get to spend more time with his dog Maple. Overall, it was a very positive experience!”

“Sharon is a wonderful dog sitter. She took out old sweet Bodi in for the day and made sure he was happy and calm. He got along very well with her two sweet pups and that’s saying a lot for our guy; he’s afraid of most dogs. He melded seamlessly with her pack. When I picked him up he was happy and calm. It was a great day. We will return to Sharon every time we need day care for Bodi while we are in the Apex area.”

“Cheyenne had a great first time staying with Alison and Tim. I got lots of pictures showing how much fun Cheyenne was having. I could tell that Cheyenne was treated like part of the family. We will be back again soon!”

“We have left our dog with Tania and family several times and have been very happy with their care. Gracie has terrible separation anxiety but happily goes to Tania and is relaxed! Tania walks Gracie and there is a nice fenced back yard to explore! We hope she continues to be available when Gracie needs her in the future. Tania is a very nice person with a beautiful family. I highly recommend her!”

“Kelsey was great with my two pups!! She communicated really well & made me feel very at ease leaving them — my pups had a great time with her. Will definitely be re-booking & highly recommend!”

About: Hello, thank you for viewing my profile! I signed onto Rover because I am interested in helping people care for their pets! I have experience owning, watching, and caring for dogs for at least 15 years now and I understand the convenience and comfort of an individual providing pet care as opposed to an expensive facility. My soul dog passed away on January 8, 2026, and I am not ready to own another dog. However, I do miss the presence of an animal in my home. He was incredibly active and had epilepsy, so I understand how important it is for dogs to receive exercise daily and a little extra love. Please feel free to reach out to me because I'd love to host your dog! I currently work from home as an Operations Manager. When I'm not home, I do see clients in the community as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, but my husband, Micah, is at home full-time and would be able to support taking your loved one out if I'm away. I have a fenced-in yard and a kids-free home, so your pup would get to be with me and my husband full time!
About: I catsat Agamemnon when my aunt, uncle, and cousins were out of town for spring break. The responsibilities I had while I was catsitting were litterbox scooping, sweeping litter messes, playing with the cat and feeding the cat. It was kind of funny when Agamemnon was pouncing at the broom like it's a toy. Since then, I could say that the broom is one of Agamemnon's favorite toys. My personal life is such that I am available to work most days, some evenings and at weekends. I am saving up to be able to pay my college tuition and for my degree right now so being at work helps me to achieve my goals. I would also be available to work at short notice at times if you need cover for any Rover work colleagues that might go off sick. I am committed to the job and I will work as many hours as my personal life permits me to do so. I care for dogs in my home and/or my client's home by walking the dog twice a day, feeding the dog, playing with the dog, and cleaning up after the dog. I care for cats by feeding the cat, playing with the cat, and scooping up the cat's litter box. Whenever I catsit, I would have to do it at my client's home because my dad is too allergic to cats to catsit at my home. Whenever I pet-sit at school, I would have to do it at the client's home because of the pet restrictions they have at the university, and I don't know if any of my suitemates are allergic to dogs.

About: I have over 15 years of experience caring for dogs, and cats. As a mother of four and a lifelong animal lover, I understand the importance of patience, consistency, and attention to detail. I treat every pet as if they were my own, providing loving care, regular exercise, playtime, feeding, and companionship. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away, and to give you peace of mind knowing they are in good hands. Pet care fits well into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide dependable drop-in visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship throughout the week. I understand that pets thrive on consistency, and I will do my best to maintain their normal routine while you’re away. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I provide attentive care and carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding schedules, exercise, and daily routines. Whether I’m visiting your pet in your home or taking them for walks, I focus on creating a calm, positive experience. I believe in clear communication and will keep you updated so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.
“Tracey is an excellent sitter! She was very accommodating to our schedule and did a wonderful job taking care of Annabelle! She was very communicative and sent pictures throughout the day, which we loved to see. Annabelle had a blast and we’re looking forward to booking Tracey again soon!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Apex
Theresa was absolutely amazing. She helped me through a very special and stressful situation with my dog’s neutering process and went above and beyond every step of the way. She was incredibly kind, attentive, communicative, and patient, and she made me feel completely comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I truly appreciated all of the updates, reassurance, and extra effort she put in to help both me and my dog feel at ease. I would 100% trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, compassionate, and genuinely caring. I’m so so glad I came across her. Theresa you rock!!

He got along very well with her two sweet pups and that’s saying a lot for our guy; he’s afraid of most dogs. He melded seamlessly with her pack. When I picked him up he was happy and calm. It was a great day. We will return to Sharon every time we need day care for Bodi while we are in the Apex area.

Our anxious pup does so well at Tiffany’s! I love that she gets to play with other dogs if she wants but also has space to do her own thing if she wants. Tiffany also has a great setup for keeping the dogs gated together by temperament if she does have to leave them and it makes us feel so much better to have a consistent person to book with. She is also super communicative which we appreciate!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Apex commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
