About: In 2006, my family adopted an Old English Sheepdog, Zoey. We got Zoey when she was a puppy, and she lived to be 9 before she passed away. In 2013, my dad and step-mom adopted an Australian Shepherd puppy, Molly. Molly was very high energy and needed a job to do, which was stressful for my step-mom so after Zoey passed away, my mom, my sisters, and I had Molly come live with us. Molly was with me for all walks of life, and we lived together just me and her for the past 6 years. As Molly had gotten older, her arthritis became a big deterrent for us, and we adapted as best we could to make her as happy and comfortable as possible. In the years after college, I dog-sat for my family friends and my own friends when they'd travel. It was always enjoyable and a good way to hang out with some pretty cool dogs! They came in all shapes, sizes, and ages! With Maddy the shitzu being 17 and Banor the German Shepherd being almost a year. I've always had pets, so taking care of them has always been a priority for me. It's truly muscle memory at this point. I get up and immediately go to take my dog outside. Before going to bed, I allot 20 extra minutes to take my dog outside. It's second nature. I care for pets by creating a safe environment for them. I always double-check to make sure nothing is on the floor that they could get into. Pushing things back on the counter in case they jump. And making sure they get extra pets before leaving them to go to work.

Aqsa is great with our dogs and they are a bit of a handful. A German shepherd and pit bull. They gravitate to her and they trust her. That is very hard to find. If you are looking for a great pet sitter she is the one I recommend

Thea was outstanding she went above and beyond to ensure Crystal was fed walked and engaged during playtime. This was my first time using Rover after adopting my fur baby so of course naturally I was hesitant and uncertain about leaving Crystal. However, Thea was communicative, adaptable and timely which reassured me I was making the right choice 10/10

About: I’ve been caring for pets on and off since high school. In the summer of 2023, I helped my neighbor walk two dogs regularly—an older Golden Retriever and a young Pomeranian. I’ve also walked a large Standard Poodle and have experience with dogs of different sizes and energy levels. Some friends have trusted me with pet-sitting at my home; the longest stay was nine days, caring for a medium-sized Poodle and a small mixed breed dog. I always make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable in a new environment. In the past, I also raised a rescued orange tabby cat from kittenhood. He was with us for many years and remains a very special part of my life. I currently work part-time on weekdays and have flexible availability after 5 PM. Right now, I offer dog walking or cat care—this includes feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and giving your pets plenty of love and attention. I’m not offering boarding services at the moment, but I’m happy to care for your pets in the comfort of their own home When caring for pets in a client’s home, I always respect their space and routines. I take the time to understand each pet’s personality, energy level, and preferences. Whether it’s a shy cat or an energetic dog, I make sure they feel safe and loved while their humans are away. I’m also happy to hear about any special notes or things I should be aware of regarding your pet.

About: I have taken care of my own dogs for about 8 years now. Neighbors and friends have also trusted me to take care of, walk, and love their pets! I am currently a full-time social work student but have lots of time in the morning and once classes are done for the day! I am currently working as an RA as well, so there may be some days I am unavailable. I am comfortable taking care of dogs in your space, as I know how to respect both the home and the creatures being taken care of!

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs for over a decade. Helping out neighbors with drop in visits or over night stays. I grew up in a household with many animals. I work a full time job, my typical hours are 10am to 6pm, so I am only available to care for your pets before or after my work day. I’m very kind and patient with all dogs/cats and can go with the flow that they need to feel safest and loved. I’m comfortable with crating and leashing pets.

About: Hi! My husband and I have over 8 years experience with taking care of cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles and amphibians. I’m a passionate animal lover and a dedicated pet caregiver based in North Carolina. In addition to providing pet care through Rover, I am also a volunteer with the SPCA, where I help care for cats and support animal welfare efforts in my community. I have experience caring for cats with a variety of personalities, from playful and social cats to those who are shy or need extra patience and reassurance. I understand the importance of maintaining routines, keeping litter boxes clean, providing enrichment and playtime, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I believe every pet deserves individualized care, attention, and kindness. Whether your cat needs a quiet companion, daily care visits, or extra affection while you’re traveling, I will treat them as if they were my own. I am reliable, detail-oriented, and committed to keeping pet parents updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I work remotely from home, which allows me to spend most of my day with the pets in my care. Aside from occasional gym visits and errands, I am typically home throughout the day and evening. This means your pet will receive plenty of supervision, companionship, and attention rather than being left alone for long periods. I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, medication routines, playtime, and regular check-ins throughout the day. I enjoy a quiet lifestyle and spend much of my free time at home. When I’m not working, I often relax with my cat, enjoy outdoor activities, or go fishing, but I always plan my schedule around the pets in my care. Your cat will stay in a clean, quiet, and pet-friendly apartment with plenty of space to relax, play, and explore. My home is filled with cat toys, scratching posts, cozy resting spots, and enrichment activities designed to keep cats comfortable and entertained. I currently have a friendly and outgoing rescue tabby cat who is well-socialized and enjoys meeting new feline friends. However, I understand that every cat is different. For cats who prefer their own space, I can accommodate gradual introductions and provide separate areas to help them feel safe and comfortable. Safety is always my top priority. I keep a cat-friendly environment and closely supervise all interactions to ensure a stress-free experience for every pet in my care.

Kelly was excellent to work with. She is a clear and consistent communicator. She came prepared to our meet and greet with lots of important questions and seemed to take in all of the information that I shared and executed everything we talked about. I have a small dog so he is more anxious and on guard with new people in his space. The fact that he was licking her face the last day speaks to what a good job she does bonding with animals. I felt really secure going out of town and knowing my buddy was taken care of. Her notes and pics for each video were also so informative and helped me feel even more secure because I knew everything that was going on even though I was not there. I also liked that she was very honest. He was more anxious in the first visit and she shared that but not in a way that made me feel worried that it wasn’t working but just in a way of letting me know objectively know that he had a little more trepidation when I was not there. I will absolutely use her again. She was actually recommending by my close teammate at work and I am grateful she sent me that recommendation!

I can’t recommend Annalise enough! She has been checking in on my French Bulldog puppy, Prada, while I’m at work, and the experience has been fantastic. As a first-time puppy owner, leaving a young puppy alone was stressful, but they immediately put my mind at ease. She is reliable, communicative, and clearly loves animals. She always sends photos and updates during their visits, which I look forward to and really appreciate throughout the day. Prada absolutely loves them and gets excited when they come by, which tells me everything I need to know about the care and attention she’s receiving. Knowing she is getting potty breaks, playtime, and affection while I’m away has been invaluable. Thank you for taking such great care of Prada. I will gladly be booking again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter! All around a genuinely good person and it shows for sure I couldn’t have asked for better!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cary choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Cary with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cary. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
