“Aqsa was absolutely amazing with my pups! She came over prior to do a meet and greet even last minute! She listened to my requests and made sure to communicate well and sent me lots of pictures. Definitely will keep her in mind in the future! Thank you Aqsa!”

“Alexandra looked after my dog and cat while I was away on a work trip. She was always quick with replies and attentive to my dog’s needs while walking her in the hot weather! She was flexible with scheduling the initial meet and greet, pet visits, and took good care of my pets! Will hope to use her services again when needed in the future.”
“Zainab took great care of Mia on Wednesday evenings while I was in a 9 week program. I was so grateful that she did activities with her every time, plus lots of cuddles. I also had peace of mind that she had a confidence and experience with high energy dogs like my Mia. I will definitely book her again for future needs. Thank you.”

“Pamela was such a BIG help to me and my little Schnoodle, Josie! Pamela followed all instructions perfectly and made sure Josie got the exercise and potty break she needed. I definitely recommend Pamela and look forward to her helping me again with Josie.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by and taken care of various types of animals since i was very young. I spent over 100 hours volunteering at a senior center where i was often needed to help care for their pets. Family and friends frequently rely on me to walk, feed, pet-sit and even bathe their pets. I have also worked for 2 years at a doggy daycare where i received multiple certifications including canine cpr training and learned all about animal behaviors and signals. As a pet owner myself I understand the importance of not only the animals needs but the owners as well. With a positive, fun attitude and a passion for animals, i would be able to provide your pets with exceptional care. I’m currently only working part-time, as well going to college. Therefore, i would be able to find plenty of time to play with your furry friends! My typical availability is evenings on Monday,Wednesday, and Friday and any time throughout the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays. However, I’m willing to be flexible and if your in need of something else feel free to reach out and i can try to work something out for you and your pet as my schedule does fluctuate. I have a fenced in backyard with a camera for security purposes and lots of shade as well as two friendly dogs of my own that are up to date with all of their shots and vaccinations and more than welcoming of new furry friends. I can definitely put your pet in a crate in a calm and quiet space or a more upbeat, busy area if needed for their comfort. Although I live in a low- crime and safe area, My home does have an advanced security system to ensure the safety of everyone and every pet that enters.
“Emily was great!!! She was able to accommodate our very last minute request. She was on time for all her walks with Addie, and she followed our instructions and kept us updated with photos.”

“Katherine has been nothing short of a blessing for me and my dog and I can say from personal experience that she is deserving of every single one of the 5 star reviews that she has. As someone with a new dog, I have been blown away with how great Katherine is with my dog. Ever single picture and update sent by Katherine shows my dog happy, excited, and being played with and loved. Katherine also always goes the extra mile such as playing with my dog after a walk, putting on her winter or raincoats, giving her treats, and cleaning up any messes my dog may have left I wholeheartedly recommend Katherine and can't thank her enough for all she's done for me and my dog!”

About: I truly love the company of animals and treat every pet I watch as if they were my own. Whether it’s a quick neighborhood stroll or spending the afternoon together at your house or mine, I prioritize your pet’s happiness and safety above all else. I’d love to help give you a break and give your pet a fun new friend! Since I am home for the majority of the day, I can provide your pet with consistent, dedicated attention and frequent outdoor breaks. I genuinely enjoy the companionship of animals and look forward to making sure yours feels right at home I live in an apartment, I have two children (11 and 13), I can walk my dog on the street, on the territory of my complex or nearby, for example on the trail and in the park ( I have a big one not far from my home).

About: I’ve started a dog walking business with my neighbor when I was nine years old. I’ve convinced my parents to get the family a dog when I was a teenager. There is no dog too big or too small for my love and attention. I treat all animals like family, because that’s exactly what they are! I’m a full-time mental health therapist seeking dog walking/watching services to serve as my own self-care, all while helping the dogs and their owners! In your home, I want your dog to feel at peace. Whether it likes to play outside in the yard, need its head patted exactly 56 times to fall asleep, or just needs company, you can trust that I will follow your directions.
“Thank you Vincent! Hershel has been so much happier getting out and about, and especially getting a friend to have play dates with too. You’re so attentive and it’s beyond appreciated!”

About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember. Even as a little girl, there was almost always a cat or dog beside me in every photo. Being around animals has always felt natural to me, and caring for them has been one of the greatest joys in my life. Over the years, I’ve cared for cats, dogs, birds, fish, and even lizards. Today, my home is shared with several beloved rescue cats, each with their own personality, routines, and little quirks that make me smile every day. My path into pet sitting happened naturally while working as a caregiver, where I often formed close bonds not only with my clients, but with their pets as well. Before long, families began trusting me to care for their animals too—and I quickly realized how much I truly loved it. I also have extensive hands-on experience caring for senior pets and animals with special needs, including medication administration, insulin injections, subcutaneous fluids, special feeding routines, and gentle comfort care. Providing comfort, patience, and a good quality of life to animals—especially those needing extra support—has been one of the most meaningful parts of my experience. Whether I’m dropping in to feed and care for your cat, keeping your pet company while you’re away, or taking your dog for a safe and enjoyable walk, my goal is always to help them feel comfortable, secure, and loved in their own space. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I treat every animal with the same kindness, patience, attention, and affection I would want for my own. I’d be honored to care for your beloved babies. I’m dedicated to making sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I do my best to keep my schedule flexible and am available 7am–10pm, seven days a week. Whether your pet needs a morning visit, a midday check-in, dinner and evening care, or simply some company and affection while you’re gone, I’m happy to help. Feel free to reach out with your preferred times, and I’ll always do my best to accommodate your schedule and your pet’s routine. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep everything feeling calm, familiar, and low-stress. I carefully follow feeding instructions, medication schedules, litter box or potty routines, and any notes you leave regarding behavior, preferences, or special care. I know how important routine can be—especially for cats—and I try to keep things as consistent as possible while you’re away. I’m very attentive to details such as securely locking doors, checking gates, keeping food and water areas clean, and making sure pets are safe and comfortable before I leave. I also pay close attention to each animal’s personality and body language, whether they’re playful and social or shy and need a slower, gentler approach. I always want pets to feel safe with me and cared for in a way that feels natural and respectful to them. I’m happy to provide updates and photos during visits so you can feel reassured while you’re away.
About: I'm not a dog person. I'm an animal person! I have two senior kitties, a gecko, an anole, a hamster, and fish under my care. I love all sorts of cuddly and not so cuddly creatures! I've cared for family cats and dogs growing up and am looking forward to getting my own puppy next year! I've been a sitter for two years. I'm very comfortable caring for senior kitties and dogs. My own senior cat needed oral medication weekly since age 3 for a special condition. I've been solely responsible for feeding, exercising, bathing, and medicating cats since I was 12 and as someone in my mid 20s I make a mature and responsible sitter. I've also cared for medicating a spicy elderly cat with hiv that needed two daily medications, including pills, before their passing (6 months) RIP. So for pets that have special needs I'm very familiar with these procedures and am comfortable with them if necessary as long as we go over them in person first! I believe challenged pets deserve equal opportunity to be cared for and loved! I cannot bathe cats that are fiesty when it comes to water. I also cannot trim any nails as I am not a professional groomer and accidents can cause infection. Safety is my number one priority! AVAILABILITY I have a very flexible schedule as a freelance, work from home graphic designer. I can be available most any day from 5am-10pm, when given at least a day's notice, for sitting, drop ins, and walks. I promise to let any regular customers know as soon as I do of any vacation or emergency preventing regularly scheduled pet care so you have time to find a suitable replacement for your four-legged family member! As I work from home I'm available your pet's entire stay to keep them company and to keep an eye on them! AGGRESSION I'm not comfortable with pets with aggression and if your dog has leash fear I'm afraid I cannot provide outdoor services such as walking or hose showers. Please let me know of any fears or concerns.
About: I enjoy spending time helping families care for their pets. I’m a dog and cat mom myself, and enjoy my days off walking and playing with pets. My family and I foster dogs a few times a year and help get them adopted. I work part-time in healthcare, therefore I have some free time during my weeks and weekends to help walk dogs and and help care for them as needed. I care for cats as well. I’m flexible, fun, kind, and happy to help your pet feel loved. I can walk, feed, and play with you dogs and cats as needed. I truly care for the animals as you would.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Cary
Rosemary is amazing! She took the best care of our boy while we were away and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. She is responsive, so kind, and sent me great updates on how our dog was doing while we were gone. We are so lucky to have her to take care of Banner!

Zainab took great care of Mia on Wednesday evenings while I was in a 9 week program. I was so grateful that she did activities with her every time, plus lots of cuddles. I also had peace of mind that she had a confidence and experience with high energy dogs like my Mia. I will definitely book her again for future needs. Thank you.

Karissa is exactly who we needed for our sitter/companion for our Husky. She had excellent communication, prompt responses to all messages, very kind and sweet, and mindful. She was so thorough, understood dog behavior very well, knew exactly what to do depending on how our dog interacted with her each day, and always provided adequate discussion of anything needed. She went above and beyond, and took such great care while we were visiting family. Our husky needs lots of exercise and she helped make sure she got that everyday. I will definitely be booking with her again anytime I need a sitter/walker if she is available. Truly grateful she was so helpful and supportive.

Cara was right on time. She was friendly and patient with Hutch. She even had a treat for him!! (After asking permission of course). We talked about his harness and his leash. She gave me some great pointers. Of course he behaved perfectly for her 😂 but I'm ready for our next adventure. Cara is great with the dog, and the human!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
