About: I'm new to Rover, but have pet-sit for others, generally friends and coworkers. I have done both drop-in visits and stayed at home (overnight) with dogs before. Unfortunately, I cannot take any cats at the moment for drop ins or house sitting. MY PETS: I love my fur-kids with all my heart and promise to take care of yours as my own. I've had cats all my life and am very comfortable with them. My current kitty is 5 year old Opal who demands canned food and love. Our puppies are Comet (4 years old, mildly reactive) and Gwen (1.5 year old, new to everything and timid). I've dealt with a lot of personalities of dogs and cats and am confident I can adapt to your pets as well. EXPERIENCE: I worked at an animal sanctuary for 8 years prior to moving to Cary. There I cared for small and large domestic animals, including numerous cats, rabbits, and dogs. I've worked a lot with horses and livestock just in case you have other friends at home. I am proficient with instructions and strict regimens should your furkids be on medications/schedules of any type. I am very comfortable with cats and have done ear cleaning, nail trims, baths, asthma medication, pilling, etc. Currently, I work with wildlife for my PhD, so other critters (reptiles, amphibians, inverts, fish, birds, etc) don't bother me either. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions that you might have. We have pets at home and understand the need for routine. I have a toddler as well who rules my schedule, but I'll do my best to fit pet care in around our schedule. We don't have the luxury of a yard, so we are required to walk our two dogs. This means we have worked hard on leash skills including loose leash walking. Our larger dog is reactive in certain situations and has some separation anxiety that we are troubleshooting. I would like to communicate openly about your pet's situation and home setup so that my care for them is a success. I value knowing about the good and the bad. Our pets have dynamic personalities and I understand that they have their own likes and dislikes.
