“Vanessa has cared for our dog, Amos multiple times. She is thoughtful and dedicated to making sure he gets the care he needs. She keeps us updated on the day's activities and is diligent with any instructions we leave. We trust her explicitly.”

“Dana was fantastic! My dog Romeo was with her for 12 days while I was away on a business trip and she sent updates (with photos) daily. She clearly loves animals and took great care of Romeo. I'll definitely book her again!”

“Over all great! Took great care of my dog and updated me on her well being throughout the whole night! Even made her a scarf which was also so sweet! 10/10 recommend!!!!!!!”

“Michelle and Jose were absolutely amazing with Delilah! They accepted our booking last minute, which was such a huge relief, and from the moment we dropped her off, I knew she was in great hands. They have so much experience with dachshunds, and it really showed. They understood Delilah’s personality and needs, which made me feel so much more comfortable leaving her for the weekend. Throughout her stay, they kept me updated with messages and pictures, so I never had to wonder how she was doing. If you’re looking for sitters who are knowledgeable, accommodating, and genuinely care about your dog, I can’t recommend Michelle and Jose enough! We will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Baylor was welcomed and appeared comfortable during her stay, and I appreciated the sitter’s flexibility with pickup. There were some supervision concerns, and she became sick after getting into another dog’s food, but she has since recovered.”

“Toby had a wonderful stay with Anna's family. We couldn’t have wished for a better sitter for our dog. He felt comfortable from the very first minute and Anna sent us plenty of happy dog photos.”

“Diego was wonderful watching our dog while we were out of town. He shared photos and videos, and ensured she got lots of fun and playtime. Would definitely consider having Diego dog sit again!”

“I chose Taylor to watch my cat while we moved houses. I needed someone who didn’t have any other pets to help reduce stress. She was absolutely amazing during this process. She was very helpful and kept me informed on how the stay was going throughout each day. I would highly recommend!”

“Highly recommend!! Sam & Jeffrey were super flexible and able to accommodate watching him pretty last minute. They were excellent at updating and my dog seemed super happy there, and their pup Apollo is a sweetheart as well❤️ Would definitely use them again!!”

“Could not have asked for a better person to watch my dog over the holiday weekend. Sent plenty of updates including pictures and videos of him having the time of his life. Definitely will be using Destiny for more dog sitting in the future!”

“My family consider ourselves really lucky to have chosen Javaris to care for our goldendoodle, Fin when i vacationed in Europe. While I was thousands of miles away, it was such a comfort knowing that he was in the care of a family who treated him like a member of the family. Javarris sent photos of Finn every day, proving he was having a happy experience. Without a doubt, I'll call him the next time he needs care while I am out of town, and I recommend him to anyone who loves their dog like they're a member of the family. I'm full of gratitude.”

About: I have had dogs all my life. I now have one Pomeranian named Zoey. I watch my granddaughter’s four dogs whenever they go out of town. This includes a beagle, two huskies, and an eight month old puppy. Between the husky and the puppy energy I have learned to watch out for everything and expect anything! I’m retired so I’m home most of the time. I might run to the grocery store or an appointment then return home right afterwards so your babies won’t be left alone long. Although I do not have a fenced yard, I do have a decent size yard for your pups to explore while leashed. I also live in a neighborhood which allows me to take your pups for walks and keep them away from the busy roads.
“Angel and Yara are beyond wonderful. My dog is so happy with them and he loves the whole family there. Their daughter is the sweetest little girl and my dog loves her too. I missed my dog but never worried about him while we were gone. Thank you sooo much.”

“Daisy had an amazing stay at Daria’s - she was right at home there! We’re so grateful for the attention and care Daria provided Daisy. I’m pretty sure Daisy misses her already.”

“Polina was absolutely amazing with my dog! She took such great care of him — he was happy, calm, and clearly well-loved when I picked him up. Her communication was excellent throughout, and I always felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. I highly recommend Polina to anyone looking for a caring and responsible dog sitter!”

“I had such an amazing experience with Lenibel. My dog has a lot going on and is older but I never was worried about her while in the care of Lenibel. She gave me updates and sent pictures and treated my dog as one of her own.”

About: I provide dedicated, loving care that treats your pup like family, ensuring they feel completely safe, happy, and thoroughly spoiled while you are away. I have years of personal and professional experience caring for various breeds and sizes. Comfortable administering oral medications and managing specific dietary requirements. I work from home with a flexible schedule, meaning your pet is rarely left alone. Our day starts with a morning potty break and breakfast, followed by an active walk or backyard playtime. Because I work from home full-time, your dog will enjoy constant companionship, plenty of potty breaks, and immediate attention throughout the day. Evenings include dinner, a relaxing wind-down walk, and plenty of couch cuddles before bed. I live in a safe, pet-friendly home featuring a secure, fully fenced yard. Your dog will have total freedom to run, fetch, and sunbathe safely outside, or relax right next to my desk while I work.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cary
Louis could not have been in better hands! I was in a bit of a bind and needed a sitter on short notice after we had recently moved to a new area, and finding someone I could trust with my 10-year-old Yorkie was a little nerve-racking. From the moment I met Kealey, I felt completely at ease. She and Kaia welcomed Louis into their home and truly treated him like one of their own. Kealey was incredibly attentive, caring, and communicative throughout his stay, sending regular updates and pictures that made being away from him so much easier. It was obvious that he was not simply being “watched”, hewas being loved, included, and cared for. I am so grateful to Kealey and Kaia for taking such wonderful care of my little guy. Finding someone you can genuinely trust with a beloved pet is priceless, and I would absolutely recommend Kealey to anyone looking for a thoughtful, responsible, and loving sitter. Louis clearly had a wonderful time, and I wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with her again! ❤️

Camille is wonderful!! This was my fur baby and I first time apart, being super nervous as imagined. However, her passion for being a cat sitter exudes joy and comfort. Ensured my fur baby was comfortable. They became friends by the time of pick up. I told Camille she’s apart of the family now. I received communications via photos and videos each day which also provided major comfort. I highly recommend this young lady!! You won’t be this disappointed!! Definitely, my go to sitter!!

Javarris and his family were very welcoming to us and our pup. They suggested a,meet and greet which was helpful for our pup who can be anxious with new people and new dogs. They were very accommodating as I booked the wrong dates in the app yet they agreed anyway. Communication was great and they sent photos daily. I highly recommend them. Ty again!

She was absolutely amazing I was really scared to leave my baby but she took videos and pictures and didn’t make me feel crazy for how many updates I wanted. Mocha had such a good time and it really made me feel so at ease that they loved her the same way that I do

In our area there are dozens of commercial buildings with teams of people ready to care for your pet. I'm sure many are very successful businesses. However, when one needs to find someone passionate about animals to care for their beloved pet, this website is the best place. Diana and Jesse are clearly animal lovers. They have multiple pets and they have designed their home around their pets and pets they care for, including a large, fenced back yard. Spend five minutes with them and their passion and love for animals is obvious. We felt very comfortable leaving our dog with Diana and Jesse. While with Diana and Jesse, our dog had a great time. He was well cared for and returned home happy and healthy. Diana and Jesse, respond quickly to messages, share pictures on a regular basis and adapted to our pet's needs. Their pets are very accommodating of new animals as well. Our dog will be back under the care of Diana and Jesse the next time we travel. I suggest you go meet Diana and Jesse as well.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
