“Had such a great experience with Grant! He watched my chihuahua for two days and sent me cute videos and photos which I loved. Super easy to communicate with and really flexible. Would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others!”

“Tracy was the best sitter! My dog was clearly super comfortable and at ease with her because she came back to us super happy and not too exhausted. Tracy kept us updated with adorable pics, and let Brandy snuggle on her soft blankets. I would definitely recommend Tracy to a friend!”

“Alice consistently takes great care of my dog. She sends fun pictures and videos, handles any health concerns that come up, and she even took him to the dog park so that he could play. I am very grateful when Alice is available to take care of my dog.”
“Savannah was very attentive to my dog and her needs! They were able to get my anxious lab-Pitt mix to relax and become comfortable with them and their pets (not an easy feat). I will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Erin did a wonderful job watching Islay while we were out of town! I appreciated regular updates and Islay seemed very happy and well taken care of. Erin was also flexible and helpful when our flights got delayed! We would definitely book with Erin again in the future.”

About: Taken care of dogs all of my life including my own and friends/family’s dachshunds, German Shepards, Terriers, Hounds, Poodles, Labradoodles, and even a few Labrador Retrievers! I work remotely and run a few times a week, so I can manage most dog’s activity level well thanks to my flexible work schedule. I’m also experienced with dogs requiring special feeding or medication. My schedule is built around my flexible remote work as a non-profit director writing analysis of legislation. I go for a morning and evening walk that I would love to take your pup on! Alternatively, I am happy to visit your dogs at your home! My large home with a fenced in backyard gives your dog lots of areas to mingle with me or have some quiet time. My activity level is also high, so I can accommodate younger dogs or active dogs.
“Kate & her family have now several times hosted our pup Willow and we are so thankful for their hospitality and care! Kate’s school-age daughters are so responsible and proactive in their involvement (helped provide a once-daily medication to our pup) and also have fun teaching tricks! We are so lucky to have found Kate in the area.”

“I just picked Delilah up last night from an almost 10 day stay with Julie. This is only Delilah's second time ever staying with a stranger, and she came home in a great mood and seems to enjoy her stay with Julie which was a relief to my husband and I. While Delilah is an easy dog, she is a retired service dog and isn't used to staying with other people so the fact that she enjoyed her stay and came home happy meant the world to us. We would for sure use Julie again in a heartbeat. Thanks for taking such good care of Delilah!”

“Awesome sitter! Definitely will book again in the future. Compared to most sitters, I could definitely tell from pictures of his stay that my pup was much happier with Miyu! She was able to provide him with the perfect amount of attention.”

“Teri is amazing, she took such good care of Ollie, he looked so happy when we picked him up. Teri sent us video and pics he warmed up with Teri in just a few hours, that is very unusual for him. Teri was able to trick him int taking his medicine, also difficult. Thank you Teri for taking such good care of but m while we attended our daughter’s wedding in Durham!”

“My min poodle Finn is often hesitant to go with strangers but he was happy to immeidately take off with Rian, no hesitation. She was really good with him and I'm not sure he wanted to leave LOL! I give her extra points because in spite of good directions and a GPS I was unable to find her building at drop off AND pick up! She is near a large and lovely park with lots of other dog walkers, which is a perfect environment for him. I really appreciated her photos, and her TLC for me as well as Finn.”

“Cathy was awesome, and our dog had a blast staying with her. She made sure our dog felt comfortable, ate well, and played every day. I would definitely choose her again.”

“Alani and her family took great care of Bells and Soba. They gave regular updates and also did not have any issue letting me know that Soba had some anxiety issues while I was gone. I could not have asked for a better sitter.”

“Emily was great! Our dog Rosie had an awesome time and really enjoyed playing in Emily’s huge fenced yard and with her dog. Emily communicated very well and sent daily updates of Rosie with pictures! I’ll definitely be reaching out to her again for my next trip!”

“Omg, loved Lena. I got updates with pictures everyday. It made my trip easier knowing Lola was in good hands. Will definitely use her services again for my dog’s care.”

“This was our first experience with using a pet sitter. We were anxious because our dog has separation anxiety. Aubrey was great. We came back to a happily exhausted dog. We will definitely use Aubrey again!”

Erin did a wonderful job watching Islay while we were out of town! I appreciated regular updates and Islay seemed very happy and well taken care of. Erin was also flexible and helpful when our flights got delayed! We would definitely book with Erin again in the future.

Nya had a lovely time staying with Samantha! She was so accommodating to all of Nya’s medications and preferences. I loved all of the photo updates Samantha sent me throughout Nya’s stay with her. Would happily have her watch my pup anytime in the future! So glad that we found her through Rover :)

Cathryn is easy going and friendly. We met up prior to the booking to make sure Luna & Huck were compatible. I did meet with several sitters before choosing Cathryn. She has a dog friendly home with a fenced yard and Luna is lovely and friendly too. She communicated in a timely manner and sent me updates during Huck's stay with her. I will be using her in the future.

I did a lot of home visits before we landed with Amy and I was so glad for it. She has an excellent space for dogs to play in the shade and run around and have balls to play with and be social with other dogs and kids who can interact with them. And they are also inside with family members hanging out on the sofa and getting to just "be" with the warmth of people around. I felt reassured and confident my pup was having a good experience. Amy is attentive and asks all the right questions to know what my dog needed. I highly recommend her! She was clearly happy when I picked her up, and instead of being ready to jump in the car, wanted to show me the balls and play with her at Amy's! That's the best review (from my dog) that I can imagine!

Krystina is amazing! My dog always gets SO excited to spend time with Krystina and loves his playdates with her dog! She is always on top of his meds, attentive to our dog, and communicates well with how our dog is doing and shares pictures regularly. I always know my dog is in great hands with Krystina, I highly recommend her for any services! She is the best! We’re moving out of state but wish we could take her with us for future sitting needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
