“Had such a great experience with Grant! He watched my chihuahua for two days and sent me cute videos and photos which I loved. Super easy to communicate with and really flexible. Would definitely hire him again and recommend him to others!”

“Our big guy, Ranger, had an amazing stay with Olivia! He was so well cared for and loved. I loved seeing the pics of him playing and hanging out everyday of his stay. We will definitely book with Olivia for Ranger's next stay.”

“Julia did an amazing job caring for our dog, Nova! She sent lots of pictures and was accommodating when we needed an extra day due to a delayed flight. Our dog is anxious and Julia did everything she could to make her comfortable and calm. I highly recommend Julia and would love to have her watch our dog again!”

“Emily and Will had the perfect setup for our Aussie — a house with two friendly pups and a spacious fenced-in yard. We appreciated that they keep their Rover pups to a maximum of two, so our girl got plenty of attention! They were also very communicative throughout the stay and sent plenty of cute pics. Also, also just really kind, friendly people! We’d definitely book them again.”

“R.J. And Julie are wonderful pet sitters! I trust them completely with my dog. They are responsible, respectful, and prompt with messages n pictures. I highly recommend their services.”

“Cathy was awesome, and our dog had a blast staying with her. She made sure our dog felt comfortable, ate well, and played every day. I would definitely choose her again.”

“Kimberlee was an amazing sitter for my puppy! I received around the clock pictures, updates, and she was very invested in making sure my puppy felt at home! 10/10 service, care, and overall hospitality. I’d definitely recommend her x10!!!”

“We love sending Luna to Rebecca and Emile’s. They’re very easy and accommodating to work with. They adore Luna and engage with her with walks, time outside, etc. Luna is right at home at their place!!”

“Tracy was super responsive to my messages when I reached out to her about boarding my dog. We scheduled a meet and greet which was really helpful and she provided updates throughout my dog’s stay. I would definitely book again!”

“So grateful for Giancarlo's excellent care! Our pup does not do well with boarding facilities, but Giancarlo kept him happy and health for over a week. We appreciate Giancarlo's flexibility and frequent updates. We look forward to booking with him again!”

“Jodie was awesome with Andrei. He seemed right at home immediately and loved the nice spacious fenced in yard. Jodie was very attentive, made sure she knew what my dog's routine was and what he needed while he was there. Best Rover sitter!”

“Savannah was so kind and loving to my Maggie. It was very endearing seeing how well she took care of her. And she was so good with updates and pictures. I would highly recommend!! We will definitely use her again! <3”

“Tracy did an absolutely fantastic job!! Flexible and easy going, asked if there were any special care instructions, and many pictures of a naturally sad looking dog looking so happy and playful!! I highly recommend”

“We were in town visiting family and couldn’t keep our dogs with us. Brandon and Aubrey were great! They kept us updated during their entire stay. Our boys seemed very happy with them. Would recommend and use again when in the area.”

“Alani and her family took great care of Bells and Soba. They gave regular updates and also did not have any issue letting me know that Soba had some anxiety issues while I was gone. I could not have asked for a better sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Durham
I did a lot of home visits before we landed with Amy and I was so glad for it. She has an excellent space for dogs to play in the shade and run around and have balls to play with and be social with other dogs and kids who can interact with them. And they are also inside with family members hanging out on the sofa and getting to just "be" with the warmth of people around. I felt reassured and confident my pup was having a good experience. Amy is attentive and asks all the right questions to know what my dog needed. I highly recommend her! She was clearly happy when I picked her up, and instead of being ready to jump in the car, wanted to show me the balls and play with her at Amy's! That's the best review (from my dog) that I can imagine!

Thank you Tracy for taking such good care of Simba! Tracy watched our golden retriever for a long weekend. She had great communication and he seemed well taken care of when we picked him up. We got frequent updates and she was very flexible on drop off and pick up times. We would definitely use her services again!

Grant took care of my dog for 10 days. He seemed chill and happy after I took him home, as he usually is (vs being would up from lack of stimulation). Grant sent occasional photos, took him to his favorite parks, and indulged in his favorite games. All communication was easy. I appreciate it!

Katie took wonderful care of our girl, Darcy, during an extended stay. Katie was easy to communicate with and we received lots of updates and photos. She took Darcy for a fun evening out to meet dogs and people alike at a sports restaurant, and Darcy received lots of love from Katie and her family throughout the week. Katie’s dog, Luna, was very friendly and welcoming. Overall, Katie was very attentive and we could relax on vacation feeling confident that Darcy was well-cared for. We will definitely be re-booking!

Krystina is amazing! My dog always gets SO excited to spend time with Krystina and loves his playdates with her dog! She is always on top of his meds, attentive to our dog, and communicates well with how our dog is doing and shares pictures regularly. I always know my dog is in great hands with Krystina, I highly recommend her for any services! She is the best! We’re moving out of state but wish we could take her with us for future sitting needs!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
