Your Dog Is My Co-Pilot
I moved to the South 12 years ago after 16 years in my beloved NYC. First I fell in love with Atlanta and for the last two years I've been in Durham, NC, where I just earned my MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts. Me and my two pit bull rescues Rolfie and Dita have loved walking in the woods, although we just had to say goodbye to Rolfie in 2026 after a full and joyful doggie life. I grew up with miniature dachsunds, but I really got to know dogs and their cues when I rescued a pit bull from the shelter where I was a volunteer dog walker six years ago. I've cared for older, special-needs dogs and feisty high-energy dogs as well as my own. I respect owners' *and* doggies' boundaries, and I know basic training techniques and operant conditioning training. I can't wait to get to know you and your fur kids.

Lauren was absolutely what we needed for a weekend boarding. She has a great fenced in yard with plenty of interesting things for the dogs to sniff around and sent multiple photos a day, which was a real treat!
So welcoming, warm, and easy. Seems to have a magical touch with pups. Not to mention that her house with it fenced front porch and yard is a doggie heaven. Lauren sent many pics—which showed my happy pup and also her attention and care. I feel very lucky to have found her!
Lauren was an excellent caretaker for our dog Dolly. Great communication before and throughout Dolly' time with her, plus lots of pictures and updates. Dolly got lots of great exercise and attention during her "sleep-away camp," and clearly had a fun time with the other dogs. Would definitely recommend!
Parker's first visit to Lauren was great! She was so accommodating letting me bring him for a day visit to get him used to coming to her house. It helped me get used to it as well. She was understanding of both his needs and mine and made me feel comfortable leaving Parker with her for our upcoming week long vacation.
Lauren was absolutely fantastic sitting our almost 12yo arthritic, high maintenance pup. She truly loves dogs and was so attentive to his needs. She sent daily updates with pictures of him having fun and asking questions when something came up. I was so anxious to leave Parker with someone new, knowing he needs a lot of caretaker attention, and now I'm looking forward to bringing him for more visits to let him have safe dog hangouts.
Lauren was incredible! After my normal dog sitter had something come up last minute, Lauren was able to watch Nala for several days with <24 hour notice. She took great care of Nala and I got lots of photo and video updates. She was a great communicator. Would absolutely have Nala go back to stay with Nala!

Schedule
I am working from home right now and am prepared to walk your dog three times a day with a longer walk (up to an hour) in the cooler hours at the end of the day. I feed my dog twice day plus treats with training, but I am happy to feed yours according to your preferred schedule

Safety, trust & environment
I have a fenced yard and shaded porch for surveying the street. Inside I have loads of dog beds. My dogs are welcome on furniture, but I will respect your rules in that regard.

A typical day
I love playing with dogs and doing training exercises. I also love supervising play among dogs and know how to read their interactions. I typically take my dog on a long walk in the evening at one of the shaded Duke Forest or Eno River trails.
