“I can’t thank Cherie and her family enough for taking such great care of my dogs. They are very anxious and not always easy, but she showed them so much patience, kindness, and love. Knowing they were with someone so sweet gave me such peace of mind. Highly recommended and will definitely be bringing my boys back!”

“Romel, Carolina, and family took great care of my girl. The pictures showed how happy Corey was and seemed like she didn’t miss her own family at all! Thank you for caring for her as if she was your own!”

“Great place for our dogs! They had a blast hanging out with other dogs and kids during their stay. Loved the communication from Amy and that she frequently sent videos and photos of the dogs! Highly recommend”

“Melissa and Michael took such great care of Joey. They treated him and loved him as if he was their own, and in every picture they sent I could tell how happy he was. Will definitely be boarding with them again. I highly recommend them!”

“Knowing someone will love your fur baby as much as you do is a huge relief when you have to be far away. Daily pics and updates were great and just what I needed. My fur baby returned happy, healthy, and tired from having so much fun. Thank you Anitra!”

“Sharon was absolutely amazing! I was getting married nearby and she watched my pup which made the whole thing possible. Her property is perfect, she has a huge fenced in paddock that Shadow loved. She sent tons of photos and videos! I feel like Shadow was well taken care of and I'd definitely book again.”

“Leo had a great time at Amanda’s. He enjoyed playing with other dogs and running around in her backyard. She does have a huge back yard. When we picked him up, he went back to Amanda and her mom to get more cuddles n hugs, which definitely indicated he had a great time.”

“Bella had a wonderful week-long stay with Heather. Heather was great about having a meet & greet beforehand and was very accommodating about having our adult son pick-up Bella before we returned to town. I love that Heather only takes one client at a time, has a huge fenced yard for play and took Bella on the daily walks she's accustomed to. Many thanks for loving our girl, Heather!”

“Mary and Jonathan were awesome! I was really nervous to try someone new but they did such a good job following his instructions, he was so happy in all the pictures and when we arrived to get him you could tell he was very comfortable there. So excited to have found the gym that is Mary and jonathan!”

“Emily is a great sitter! She sent cute pictures every day and it seemed like Rigatoni had fun at her place. He has a daily pill + cleaning routine for an infected nail and she did a great job with that. Rigatoni clearly loved hanging out with Emily and Lamar- we had a hard time getting him to leave! It was really easy coordinating pick-up and drop-off because Emily was really easygoing and flexible with times. We’re really glad we found her on Rover and I’m sure Rigatoni’s looking forward to staying with her again sometime soon!”

“It is clear that Denise genuinely enjoyed taking care of our dogs, Apollo and Luna, and that they connected with her and feel very comfortable staying at her home. Denise and her husband are both lovely people and I will happily leave Apollo and Luna in their care during future travels.”
“Qian did an amazing job taking care of our dog! She sent daily photos, videos, and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She made sure all of his needs were met, including feeding, grooming, and taking him on walks two to four times a day. What we appreciated most was how responsive she was whenever we reached out. It was clear that she genuinely cared for our dog and treated him like her own. We would absolutely recommend Qian to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive dog sitter!”

“Erin and her family are great! They have watched my dog twice now and are just wonderful! Their dog and mine had the best time! It was such a relief to see pictures of my boy having a good time, which always help ease the stress of leaving him when away! Would definitely recommend booking with them again!”

Veronica has been an exceptional dog sitter for our sweet dog Pallino. She sent us daily updates and proved to be attentive to his needs of nice daily walks as well as snuggles... Our dog also had a minor health issue, which Veronica addressed quickly and thoroughly, including her communication with us. During our vacation we felt at ease knowing that Veronica was with our dog throughout the day and he was always well taken care of. We also had a flight cancellation and asked her for a very last minute extension, which she graciously agreed. Thanks Veronica for being such a caring and responsible sitter for our dog!

Remi was very comfortable at Megan”s house. She met Megan’s dogs at the meet and greet and got along great with all of them. Megan was great with communicating and you can tell that she has a real love for and understanding of animals. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to leave Remi. It was totally worth the 30 min drive for drop off and pick up!!

Agus was a life saver. Not only was he very caring with my dog, but a family member had an emergency while we were out of town and Agus graciously picked up her dog, took care of her for several days, and returned her to her owner, all on a moment's notice. So grateful!!!

Naotake took great care of Monny while we were away. He was very thoughtful, communicative, and kept us updated throughout her stay. Monny can be a picky eater and is sensitive to heat, but he paid close attention to her needs and made us feel at ease. We especially appreciated his kindness and the detailed updates. We would definitely trust him with Monny again. Highly recommend!

Ashleigh and Jason were amazing! My sweet Izzy was taken into their home like a member of their own family. It was her first stay with them and they made me feel at ease providing updates and sending pictures regularly. When I picked her up I could tell immediately that she was happy and so well loved and taken care of while I was away. Highly recommend Ashleigh and Jason, Izzy will be back with them in July for our next vacation!

Gregg has been our favorite pet sitter during our time in NC. He is very professional, and his house has a beautiful and big fenced yard in a quiet area. We reliably received happy and fun pictures of Molly while we were away and that gave us peace of mind. I can’t recommend Gregg enough!

Emily and Lamar were amazing! They took great care of our little guy and he has an absolute blast. They kept us informed and updated the entire stay with pictures and messages. We really appreciate them and can’t wait to book with them in the future. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
