“Krystene and her family are awesome! My dog Wilbur has stayed with them twice now and we had a great experience both times. Wilbur can have a lot of separation anxiety, so it was amazing to see how comfortable he was with Krystene even after staying with her only once. Would definitely recommend Krystene!”

“Zella looked like she was having a good time at Denise's! I am always nervous a new environment and fur friend might stress her out but the videos/pictures from Denise showed me a happy healthy time with new pal Grover :) would recommend!”

“Aarti was so great! We set up a meet and greet prior to booking and poppy loved her from the start. She sent multiple photo updates and I knew poppy was safe and happy in her care. We will be back 😊”

“Adrian provided my pup with so much love and helped her to feel calm. She has some anxiety, so it’s especially exciting to find someone who can manage that and provide both excellent care and regular updates.”

“Sharon boards in her home and has a great play area for the dogs. She is very caring for all of her boarders. We will definitely use Sharon to board our dog in the future.”

“Paris did a wonderful job watching my Senior dachshund for a week. It was my pet’s first time staying with someone who she didn’t know. I was really nervous about leaving her but my pet did great. Paris sent pictures and messages every day about what had happened during that day. My pet seemed to settle in well and had a great stay. I definitely will contact Paris again if I need to board my little Doxie again.”

“Although she only watched my dog for a short time, I feel that Jade‘s really took very good care of him. Almost as much as I would. She was very communicative and sent me pictures and always kept me up-to-date on how he was doing. I will definitely book with her again the next time I am in Durham.”

“Amanda was a dream. She helped me out when I had my days mixed up and was lovely with my pup. She was so gre At my pup didn’t want to leave. Would definitely recommend and rebook.”

“Knowing someone will love your fur baby as much as you do is a huge relief when you have to be far away. Daily pics and updates were great and just what I needed. My fur baby returned happy, healthy, and tired from having so much fun. Thank you Anitra!”

“Patrick is wonderful with Storm! Every time I drop her off, she’s so excited to see him. Patrick updates me with pictures throughout Storm’s stay and she always looks so happy. He’s very accommodating and communicative. Love that I can travel and trust Patrick to watch my fur baby.”

“When we travel, it is challenging to find the best care for our pets. Jill and Bill took such great care of Butters for three weeks. We were updated about Butters frequently, and saw her having a lot of fun with the other pets. It seemed that Butters was having a fun-filled vacation! Thank you, Jill and Bill, for hosting Butters at short notice. Never for a moment were we worried about Butters while we were away.”

Mar and her family were wonderful and made my dog Penny feel right at home! Mar sent lots of pictures and videos, and she & her whole family (including their awesome dog Togo!) were so warm and welcoming. Penny had a blast, was relaxed and comfortable, and had a great time romping with Togo. We will definitely be back!
Patrick did an amazing job watching after our dog Manju. He was super responsive coordinating everything, including drop off and pick up. He also sent lots of pictures which we loved. We felt Manju was well cared for and got lots of attention. Patrick did such a great job, and we've already rebooked him for another trip next month.

This is the second time Megan has cared for my dog during my international trips, and I couldn't be happier. I'm always happy to receive the photos she shared, and it's wonderful to see that my dog is happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and reliable boarding home!

Camille did a great job with our dog. Our dog had frequent walks and playtime. Fortunately for our dog, Camille's niece was also in town and she loved to play fetch and generally play with our dog as well. Camille was very attentive, took plenty of videos and pictures to send to me, communicated well, and was also flexible. Will ask her to help again when needed.

Veronica has been an exceptional dog sitter for our sweet dog Pallino. She sent us daily updates and proved to be attentive to his needs of nice daily walks as well as snuggles... Our dog also had a minor health issue, which Veronica addressed quickly and thoroughly, including her communication with us. During our vacation we felt at ease knowing that Veronica was with our dog throughout the day and he was always well taken care of. We also had a flight cancellation and asked her for a very last minute extension, which she graciously agreed. Thanks Veronica for being such a caring and responsible sitter for our dog!

Emily and Lamar were amazing! They took great care of our little guy and he has an absolute blast. They kept us informed and updated the entire stay with pictures and messages. We really appreciate them and can’t wait to book with them in the future. Would highly recommend to anyone!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
