“Ashleigh and Jason were amazing! My sweet Izzy was taken into their home like a member of their own family. It was her first stay with them and they made me feel at ease providing updates and sending pictures regularly. When I picked her up I could tell immediately that she was happy and so well loved and taken care of while I was away. Highly recommend Ashleigh and Jason, Izzy will be back with them in July for our next vacation!”

“Nathan is an amazing dog sitter! My pup Dash had so much fun staying over. He kept us informed and sent us updates and pictures. We look forward to having Nate dog sit again!”

“Just the kindest. Our dog couldn’t be happier to arrive at their house every time. They truly love and care for your animal like it’s theirs. They follow all directions and send many fun pictures/videos.”

“Keyana was so great to work with! Clearly an animal lover and very kind, she good great care of my dog for 5 days. I don't how how she did it but she somehow made my dog a better person by the time we picked her up. We also got regular photo and video updates. Would use her again and highly recommend her!”

“Jill was wonderful!! We were in town for a baseball event for my son at UNC Chapel Hill. We were headed to FL after the showcase, so wanted to bring our 2yo Aussiedoodle. Jill was phenomenal. She kept our boy—very attentive to all his needs. They took walks and he loved playing with her sweet lab mix. We enjoyed our visit to Chapel Hill knowing that our pup was in great hands. He left Jill’s tired and ready for a long car ride to FL . I’m so thankful! We will definitely reach out when back in town!”

“10 out of 5 stars! I felt so comfortable with Angel and Yara (and daughter Zoe) taking care of my dog. I got every day feedback and videos, and it was obvious my Cooper was happy and well cared for. I was afraid he wouldn’t want to leave and come home with me - but I guess he loves me too. 😁😁😁 Thank you for giving us a worry-free vacation.”

“Tori and her family took such great care of our small older dog who has some health issues including med administration needs and occasional pain due to previous cancer. Everything from getting holly to their home (Tori last minute offered to pick Holly Up and this was a godsend because our trip was last minute and we were trying to coordinate many other things) to start her visit to pick up and updates in between were great. Her sons are very gentle and natural animal lovers so that was not any concern even though our dog generally prefers calm environments. I would highly recommend Tori and her family for caring for your pet!”

“Serina was WONDERFUL with my senior pup! I was very nervous about leaving Annie somewhere she had never been before, since in the past she's only ever boarded at a familiar facility or stayed with family members. Serina was very flexible with my last-minute request and took great care of Annie. She also sent me very sweet pictures of my girl looking relaxed and happy, which helped settle my nerves. I would definitely send Annie to Serina again!”
About: I’ve spent my whole life around animals since I was a kid. That being said, I’m comfortable around dogs, cats, exotic pets, birds, reptiles- you name it, I’m a huge animal lover! When I moved away for college I brought my childhood dog with me who I had since she was a puppy. Unfortunately she faced some health issues as she got older, but I was lucky enough to be able to care for her until she was 17! Because of my time spent with her, I am comfortable and experienced with dogs from the puppy age to seniors, have administered pills and topical medication numerous times, have no problem with bathing and grooming, etc. I also fostered a dog and started up my rover after my dog passed and since then I’ve had the pleasure of caring for many more fur babies. No pet is a challenge for me! I work full time during the week, but am looking to fill my free time with a serotonin boost from your pup! I love dogs and as a dog owner, I know that it’s sometimes hard to fit 3 walks a day into a crazy packed schedule, or spontaneously take a day trip somewhere, so I’d like to help! I am typically available for evening walks during the week but and completely flexible on weekends! It is my goal to ensure you that I will be respectful of your home and privacy, as well as your dogs normal schedule. I am reliable and trust worthy, and can adapt to any dogs personality, whether they are shy, reactive, hyper, or sleepy! I’ve walked dogs as small as 5 pounds to as big as 90, so no dog will be a challenge! I’m very attentive while on walks to make sure your dog does not hurt themself/ eat something they shouldn’t/ mess with another dog. I can be flexible with any precautions I’d need to take with your dog whether that be medication, assistance with mobility or anything else! Your dogs comfort is my first priority!

About: We have had dogs in our family for years. I have all the basic experience of taking care of a crate trained dog. We also had a high energy Australian shepherd that had to go boot camp a few times…that being said I understand their training is very important to keep up so I am open and receptive to all their training and dietary needs. I am available through August most days. I am a school teacher so once the school year starts up I will be available for afternoon drop ins or boarding etc. With all the instructions you provide me for them and exceptional love and care. Furry friends deserve to feel comfortable too. I will take any crates, beds, toys etc. that they need and try to keep them on their routine as close as possible.
“Jennifer was wonderful! Great communication, easy pick up and drop off, and most importantly she took great care of our dog! We left our dog with her for the weekend and he seemed comfortable and happy when we picked him up. Highly recommend!”

“Bri did an incredible job watching my golden retriever Dolly. She was accomodating, followed instructions and made sure Dolly was well loved and spoiled with lots of belly rubs and treats. Would recommend Bri again.”

“Phoebe was terrific. Easy communication with lots of pictures and happy notes reassuring me that my sweet pup was having a great stay. Thank you, Phoebe! I will certainly ask for your help the next time I need a home away from home for my boy.”

About: My neighbors trust me to take care of their furry friends when needed. I’ve since moved away for college and hope to meet more pet parents through Rover! I’m currently studying for the MCAT part-time, so my schedule is flexible and I am free to take care of your pet any day of the week! I can easily stay overnight and or simply go for a walk. I live in a pet-friendly townhome with my sister who also loves animals. We have a spacious living room that can accommodate a crate and an unfenced yard.
“Kristin took wonderful care of our dog for a week while we were away. Our dog was safe, well cared for, and perhaps most importantly, loved as if we were with her. Kristin treated our dog as one of her own. Thank you Kristin!”

Agus was a life saver. Not only was he very caring with my dog, but a family member had an emergency while we were out of town and Agus graciously picked up her dog, took care of her for several days, and returned her to her owner, all on a moment's notice. So grateful!!!

Ashleigh and Jason were amazing! My sweet Izzy was taken into their home like a member of their own family. It was her first stay with them and they made me feel at ease providing updates and sending pictures regularly. Gregg has been our favorite pet sitter during our time in NC. He is very professional, and his house has a beautiful and big fenced yard in a quiet area. We reliably received happy and fun pictures of Molly while we were away and that gave us peace of mind. I can’t recommend Gregg enough!

Emily and Lamar were amazing! They took great care of our little guy and he has an absolute blast. They kept us informed and updated the entire stay with pictures and messages. We really appreciate them and can’t wait to book with them in the future. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Molly and Henry and their dog Hank were wonderful hosts for our dog Lucy. They welcomed her into their home, took her for walks, and gave her lots of love. Lucy had plenty of human and canine company over the week. Molly was super responsive and sent plenty of updates and photos. We wouldn't hesitate to book them again next time we travel. Thank you!!

We were away for 10 days, and Africa took great care of our senior dog Dexter. She was very attentive to his needs and kept to his schedule, ensuring he felt comfortable and at ease the entire time. Throughout our trip, Africa kept us updated with photos and messages, which really put our minds at rest. She’s quick to respond and was also very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. We’re so grateful for her care, and we’d absolutely trust her with Dexter again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
