“Katrin was AMAZING! My husband and I are so anxious leaving our dogs and katrin put our minds at ease immediately. From the moment we arrived, the dogs were clearly comfortable and in great hands. She shared regular updates and pictures, administered our senior dog’s medication, and went the extra mile in every possible way to make sure our pups felt right at home. We’re so grateful for her animal loving heart!”

“This is our first time being away from our dogs and we were anxious to leave them in someone else's care, but we're so glad that we found Heather! She treated them as if they were her own and we could tell that the dogs had a wonderful time with her and her husband. We got to fully enjoy our trip because we knew that the dogs were taken care of and that they were also having fun. We'll definitely seek her out again in the future for our next trip. Highly recommend to other dog parents! 11/10 :D”

“I had to board my Zita very last second (not even minute) for a full day sitting (9.00-19.00) and Agus was extremely nice and flexible to accommodate my needs. He took really good care of Zita and she loved playing with Harry Potter (he is such a sweet boy!). I would definitely recommend him and board Zita again!”
“Emily and William did a wonderful job caring for Bill while we were away! They sent lots of updates, kept him active, and made sure he felt comfortable. Highly recommend!”

“Krystene responded quickly to my request and was very pleasant. She sent me pictures of my cat baby and updated me on how he was doing. I was very thankful Krystene was available to care for my cat during a family emergency. I would definitely use Krystene again!”

“Our pups spent another weekend with Amy and Alex -- I kind of felt bad picking them up because I know they are so happy there! Trust both of them fully with our boys :-)”

About: We were raising dogs before we had children. Siberian Huskies, Akitas, rescue dogs, and Icelandic Sheepdogs. There have been dogs in our home for over 50 years. Our pets are a part of the family and greet us each day with a licky kiss on the chin. Our grandchildren love to play with Spensa when they visit. Pet care is intentional and a part of our daily routine. With the morning coffee comes the morning run around the back yard. With my breakfast is the dogs breakfast. If we go for a walk, so does the dog! We all just do life together as we can! We have a fenced yard allowing plenty of room to run and play. Our dog is very friendly and is very comfortable being around other dogs. She is current on all vacinations. Should you required you dog to be crated for any reason, we would be more than willing to comply to your requests.
“I cannot say enough great things about our dog sitter, Joaquin! From the moment we met, it was clear how much he genuinely loves and understands animals. He treated Aggie with so much care, attention, and affection that I felt completely at ease while I was away. He kept me updated with pictures and messages, and it was obvious that Aggie was happy, safe, and well-loved. It’s such a relief to know that Aggie was in such kind and capable hands. I highly recommend Joaquin to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter—he truly treats your pup like family!”

“Our dog Nethra had a wonderful time at Sharon's house. Sharon was extremely caring and it reflected in the videos that was sent to us since we could see how happy Nethra was. Thanks Sharon!”

“We had the absolute best experience with Marilyn watching our dog, Bleu, over the past few days! From the moment we dropped him off, I felt completely at ease. We received constant updates, adorable photos, and sweet messages that made us smile every day. It was so clear Bleu was not only well cared for but loved—he got treats, snuggles, and tons of attention. Marilyn truly treated him like family. I can’t recommend her enough. If you’re looking for someone who will go above and beyond for your pup, she’s it! We’ll definitely be booking again. 💙🐾”

“Tami was great. She was wonderful with my dog Luna when we went to visit and also when Luna was nervous that I was leaving her. She kept me updated all weekend on how it was going and was very flexible when I had to change plans to avoid a snowstorm. I will be using Tami again soon to take care of my girl!”

“Oskar had a great time with David and being with other big dogs and running and playing in the pond. He seemed to really be in his element and what a great opportunity for him to be more active. We got some great action photos of him.”

“Kelly is always absolutely amazing! Cannot say enough great things about her and her son. My dog feels like it’s a vacation every time she comes, and I know she’s getting amazing care! ❤️❤️”

“Ashley did a great job watching our pup. He has a lot of energy as well as a small medical need and he was well taken care of on his stay. Ashley did a great job keeping us updated daily and our pup came back happy. Will be contacting Ashley for our pups next “vacation”!”
“This was our first time letting Isabel take care of our bloodhound and it was an amazing experience. We were able to get away for a short vacation and not worry about our dog at all - knowing he was also having a great time playing with Isabel's family and her dogs.”

“I had an awesome experience with Dave. He took great care of my pup! He checked in every day to let me know how she was doing. He also has a huge fenced in yard for the dogs to get their energy out. I can only recommend him, he does a great job!”

“Emily is the absolute best! It was our first time leaving our dog for a couple of days. We were so nervous! She sent us photos and little messages in the morning and at night to make sure that we felt at ease. Emily and her pups welcomed Beckett in and made her feel like part of their family. The played, they walked, they snuggled. So grateful. We highly recommend Emily!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
