“I was very pleased with my experience with Sarah booking a overnight stay for my Beagle, Boo. Sarah's husband played an important role as co-sitter, giving my dog another person to add to her favorite people list. My dog and I met with Sarah about a week or two prior to the stay, to go over any of Boo's specific characteristics. Sarah's household was very pleasant, and the backyard was nicely fenced in for a large playing area. Communicating while planning and during the stay was excellent. We are booking a much longer stay in the near future. My family doesn't go away from home very often, but knowing that I have a trusted sitter available helps a whole lot. Thanks Sarah !”

“Candice took amazing care of my senior pup while I was away! Her daily updates and pics made me feel secure knowing he was well looked after. She has a lovely home and 2 sweet pups of her own who enjoyed playing my with dog. Candice cares immensely for her animals and treated mine like her own. Don’t hesitate to book with her!”

“Judy was amazing!! This was my first time boarding Ginger and I was so worried. She’s only 5months old and very much a hyper puppy!! Judy sent me updates and let me know she was doing good! I could tell Ginger loved her too!! We are glad to be home, but also very happy knowing she can have a home away from home ❤️”

“Grace was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I was under time restraints and needed some one to board my 2 young cats. Ot was last minute cause life happens and she worked with me 100%!!!!! This was my first time using this app and I will again!!! And I am only using Grace again too!!! Thank you for everything Grace!”

“Alice was great with Dickens and sent me numerous photos and daily updates about Dickens while I was away. I would recommend her heartily to anyone who needs multi-day dog care.”

“Britteny was absolutely wonderful with our two dogs. She got back to me immediately when I requested last minute, was super friendly and responsive, and even let our dogs sleep in her bedroom with her! Usually when I pick them up after they have been boarded they are a little “off” for a few days, but they are perfectly normal and happy this time. I highly recommend!”

“We just left our dog, Mapo, with Emily, and we couldn’t be happier! Emily sent regular updates, complete with adorable pictures that clearly showed how much fun Mapo was having! When it was time to pick her up, Mapo seemed so comfortable she didn’t even want to leave. Emily was also incredibly flexible with our schedule, which we really appreciated. Thank you, Emily, for making Mapo feel so at home! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, attentive sitter!”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Scott, Ellen and all their kiddos! They took amazing care of Juniper, sent daily updates and pictures, and truly treated her like their own. The kids became Juniper’s best friends and were so kind and loving. We’re incredibly grateful for the care they gave her! We will definitely ask them to watch her again!”

“Amber was fantastic! She took such great care of Sherman while we were away, and we felt completely comfortable knowing he was in good hands. She was dependable, caring, and easy to communicate with. Sherman was happy and well cared for when we got home. We would absolutely recommend Amber and wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch Sherman again. Thank you!”

“Remi is an anxious dog but seemed to enjoy/was comfortable during her time at Julia’s! Julia sent a ton of pics each day so I was never worried about how she was doing. We’ll definitely be using her again! :)”

“Katrin was AMAZING! My husband and I are so anxious leaving our dogs and katrin put our minds at ease immediately. From the moment we arrived, the dogs were clearly comfortable and in great hands. She shared regular updates and pictures, administered our senior dog’s medication, and went the extra mile in every possible way to make sure our pups felt right at home. We’re so grateful for her animal loving heart!”

“Zydae was fantastic. She provided great communication and flexibility with our puppy. We decided to leave him one extra night instead of doing a late pickup and she was more than willing to accommodate. Her responses were quick. She sent a lot of pictures and videos to ensure our puppy was ok and comfortable. It was our first time using a service and she provided a great experience. We would definitely book her again.”

About: I've been a passionate dog owner since I was 8 years old giving me well over two decades of hands-on experience with canine care and behavior. My background goes far beyond daily feeding and walks. I've personally assisted in delivering two litters of puppies, so I am comfortable with everything from whelping and newborn puppy care to handling unexpected situations with patience and confidence. Whether your pup needs gentle care, active play, or experienced handling, they'll be treated with the absolute highest standard of love and safety in my care. As a stay-at-home mom, my home is active, organized, and full of life! Being home full-time gives me a super flexible schedule, meaning your pet will rarely be left alone. I am available throughout the entire day for frequent potty breaks, backyard playtime, and continuous supervision. Whether you need daytime daycare or overnight boarding, pet care seamlessly integrates into my daily family routine, ensuring your dog gets constant companionship and attention. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I offer a warm, welcoming, and closely supervised home environment where guest pets are treated like family. We have two super friendly Labrador Retrievers who love making new friends and playing host! Because I am home throughout the day, your dog will enjoy frequent leashed outdoor potty breaks, regular walks, structured playtime, and constant supervision. I closely follow all care instructions, sticking strictly to your pet's feeding and medication schedules to ensure a safe, smooth, and stress-free stay.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is that I am a lifelong pet owner who truly understands that pets are family. I have owned both dogs and cats for most of my life and currently have two Basset Hounds, Cooper (10) and Charlie (5), giving me firsthand experience caring for dogs at different life stages. Because Cooper is a senior dog, I understand the extra patience, attention, and routine that older pets often need. I am comfortable following detailed care instructions, monitoring for changes in behavior, and ensuring pets receive the individualized care they deserve. I also have experience caring for pets for friends and family, so I understand the importance of communication and providing regular updates to give owners peace of mind while they're away. I pride myself on being dependable, attentive, and patient. Whether your pet enjoys walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply having a calm companion nearby, I will make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. My goal is to care for your pet the same way I care for my own, with kindness, care, and lots of love. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work full-time from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but I have a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM that allows me to check on pets, provide potty breaks, walks, feedings, or companionship during the day. After work, I am available in the evenings to provide additional care, walks, playtime, feeding, and attention. As a pet owner myself, caring for animals is already a part of my everyday life. I currently care for my two Basset Hounds, Cooper and Charlie, and understand the importance of maintaining a consistent routine. I am committed to making sure pets receive the care, exercise, affection, and attention they need while their owners are away. In my home, my two Basset Hounds, Cooper and Charlie, have access to our fenced backyard through a doggy door, allowing them to go outside as needed throughout the day. They have a consistent routine that includes feeding, fresh water, exercise, playtime, and plenty of affection and attention. When caring for pets in a client's home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. This includes feeding according to their schedule, providing fresh water, taking them for walks or potty breaks, cleaning up after them, administering basic care as instructed, and spending quality time with them. I understand that pets are most comfortable when their routine remains consistent, and I will treat your pets and home with the same care and respect that I give my own.
“Argus took care of Zoey when we were out on vacation. He did a good job sticking with Zoeys feeding schedule and also provided extra attention to feed her medication”

“Our dog Winnie had the best time on her “vacation” at Emily and William’s house. She had four-legged playmates to run around with and two-legged family members that gave her lots of love and attention. Daily communication and photos confirmed that we needn’t worry about her - she was in excellent hands.”

“Mary is fantastic! She took both my dogs for a week and they were cared for in a safe place with exercise, tons of snuggles, a beautiful fenced yard, and the company of her two friendly dogs. The easy communication with Mary and her easy going attitude makes you feel like you are leaving your dogs with a trusted friend you’ve known for years . This has been the most positive pet sitting experience I’ve ever had using Rover. Thank you Mary for looking after the doodles like your own.”

Tara and Kevin are great with our dog Brandy. She is so comfortable spending time with them and their two pups. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
