“Phoenix and Walter had their first stay with Ro last week for 6 days. She offered a nice meet and greet that allowed me to very feel comfortable leaving my pups with a complete stranger. Ro seems knowledgeable and compassionate about caring for animals and has a nice fenced in backyard for them to run and play. My pups didn't even seem excited to see me when I came to pick them up. Hoping to use her services again in the future.”

“Nancy was so wonderful! She took amazing care of our pup with regular updates and easy communication. He loved taking walks, spending time outside, and playing with her pup. Could not recommend her more!”

“We could not be happier with the obvious care and love Adriana gives to the dogs she owns and watches. Her house is super clean and organized and she has a giant, level fenced yard that is perfect for dogs to run and play. All of the dogs at her house are so well behaved and obviously loved. She truly is some sort of dog whisperer. This was our 3rd time using her and we will definitely be back again soon!”

About: As it usually goes, growing up my family always owned dogs, from German Shepherds to Chihuahua mixes. I follow up my personal experience with 6 years of professional experience working at various dog boarding/daycare facilities and veterinary hospitals. Before moving to North Carolina, I lived in Iowa where 3 years ago I was given the opportunity to a apprenticeship at Fowl Water Outdoors, afterwards I was then given the opportunity to a job training at Lakota Creek Kennels. Since moving to NC I had been able to fill the role of assistant trainer at Spence Canine Academy in Oak Ridge, NC. Along with my background, I am pet CPR/first aid certified and able to provide a background check along with several references. I have four of my own pets. Zeus, a 6 year old German Shepherd who I have dabbled in fast CAT and AKC scent work with. Zeppy, a 1 year old Belgian Malinois I am training in the bite sport of PSA with. LaRue, a 6 month old Standard Poodle who has big shoes to fill as a hunting companion. And Maly, my 1 year old Siamese cat. Previously I owned a Dutch Shepherd who I trained in the bite sport of PSA with as well, I am certainly partial to the Shepherds. In my teen years I owned a few rabbits, a couple Mini Lops, an English Angora, and would love the opportunity to care for rabbits again! Big or small, dogs to bunnies, they are loved all the same and I look forward to taking care of your beloved pets! Currently my schedule is wide open for dog walking, adventure walks, and drop-in visits from 7am-9pm Monday through Friday, as well as boarding! I have a 2 bedroom townhome without a fenced yard so dogs are required to be leashed. However we will still get plenty of exercise in through play, walks, and on leash hikes! Having a spare bedroom allows me to easily accommodate pets who may not get along with others, or simply enjoy having their own private, calm, and quiet space.
“Lindsey was Great! Her communication and pictures made us feel extremely comfortable and confident. Rell seemed Happy and at Home with Her and Pluto even though he was nervous at first Lindsey Helped him adapt. We will definitely use Lindsey again”

“We found ourselves in a pinch with a last-minute trip and our regular sitter unavailable. Molly came through for us and did a great job taking care of our dog for a few days. She was reliable, responsive, and flexible. Our 11.5-year-old Labradoodle was happy, and we could tell she well-cared for when we returned. We would definitely book with Molly again and recommend her to other pet owners!”

“Christopher was very sweet and attentive to Turkey. He sent me updates and pictures while I was away. Turkey had a great time and loved playing with other friends!”

“Sophia was absolutely amazing with our dogs! We felt comfortable leaving them as soon as we met her. She kept us informed and sent pictures daily. We would definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve had dogs all my life, I’ve had all kinds of animals. I’ve had rabbits and guinea pigs, and many types of dogs. I am currently in school working on getting my vet tech certification, and I have worked at a pet boarding facility before along with a vet office! I am currently in school virtually and working full time doing detailing, so I have a very flexible schedule. I don’t start my work day until abt 10:30, classes are set at my own pace, and I typically finish my work day around 2:30/3 just depends on how long the detail takes me. So my schedule is very flexible and I have the ability to work around it! I live in a townhome apartment complex with 2 cats and a dog. I allow my pets access to everything in my home, same would go for your pets as well! My cats and dog are friendly, and I always leash my dog when taking him outside to use the bathroom or for walks. All my pets are spayed and neutered, and up to date on all their vaccines and on flea and tick prevention.
“Brianna was very personable and caring for my pup! I appreciated her asking to meet Yonah beforehand and asking questions about her care. She also sent pictures and took her to the dog park (as discussed with me prior). Will definitely keep her in mind for future boardings!”

“Andrea was absolutely wonderful with boarding my two dogs in her home. I was visiting from the DC area and was in desperate need of care for my dogs on a last minute trip to North Carolina. She was so communicative and lovely! My girl dog is very nervous around strangers and can sometimes scare people when she barks randomly but Andrea was so patient with her. My dogs had the same care I would provide them in my own home. Andrea opened her home to my dogs and her care was out of this world, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 5/5 stars 🩷”

“Was kind enough to be available last minute for an overnight stay and was quick to communicate. Appreciated her willingness to let me return a few hours later than originally planned. Roscoe seemed in good spirits upon my return.”

“Jenna and Shane were super sweet. They sent tons of pics every day of my girl, who got to play outside with their dog. This is a big deal because my dog is normally apathetic towards other dogs, so to hear she was socializing meant a lot to me. They were communicative and friendly the whole time and were transparent and reassuring when I had questions. I'm definitely booking with them again if I need a sitter!”

“I have a large 11 month old puppy that has never been away from my side for more then a few hours so I was a bit worried about leaving her with anyone. Melany kept me updated on the 4 days I was gone and made sure to send me pictures. She took great care of my lily and we will definitely be using her again. Fenced in yard was good, the communication was good and the care was good. I couldn’t be happier !”

Christina was absolutely amazing with Milo! She kept me updated with messages and photos, and it was clear he was well cared for and happy the entire time. I would definitely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and loving sitter.

It was our first time using Rover, but Juliana was a highly regarded sitter and so we entrusted our two dogs to her and it was a wonderful experience for us and them. Archer and Apollo were taken care of, and were treated as well as her own dogs. She provided any updates and plenty of pics, and followed any specific instructions regarding pills or activities to a “T”. We thank Juliana for her hosting and would absolutely use her services again in the future!

We found ourselves in a pinch with a last-minute trip and our regular sitter unavailable. Molly came through for us and did a great job taking care of our dog for a few days. She was reliable, responsive, and flexible. Our 11.5-year-old Labradoodle was happy, and we could tell she well-cared for when we returned. We would definitely book with Molly again and recommend her to other pet owners!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
