“My dog was well taken care of and would definitely book again! Thank you for taking excellent care of my furkid and welcoming him into your home. I truly appreciated the updates and photos since this was my first time leaving my dog with anyone since we usually take him everywhere with us, but we couldn't this time. I can tell he enjoyed his stay! Thanks a million!”

“Jane was so wonderful with my dog. After meeting with her, I knew Dixie was going to be in great hands. I received a lot of updates throughout my trip, and I could see on the pictures that Dixie was acting like she was at home. Jane understood her personality really well, so I highly recommend her to anyone who feels anxious leaving their pet for a short or long period of time. I already have her booked for my next trip. Jane was also extremely accommodating with the pick up time. After my flight back home got canceled, she understood the circumstances and told me not to worry about Dixie, that she was going to be taken care of. That was such a relief, and so appreciated. Thank you Jane for taking such great care of Dixie!”

“We are so lucky to have found Lisa. We are THOSE dog parents. Maggie and Jasper are great hosts. Tabitha loves sharing her toys. Thank you Lisa. We will have a trip in a few months when Tabitha would love to visit.”

“I can’t thank Brooke enough for taking such amazing care of Nyla while I was away on my cruise! She made the whole process seamless from start to finish. I never had to worry because she kept me updated with plenty of adorable pictures and made sure Nyla was loved and well cared for every step of the way. It gave me such peace of mind to know Nyla was in such good hands. Highly recommend Brooke she’s truly the best!”

“Piper was well taken care of, I received lots of updates and pictures. She had lots of time outside to play which is good for her energy level and had fun with their pup Hazel. The updates kept me at ease when I was out of town. Thanks for the great care!”

“Talia did an amazing job caring for Dino. She sent photos and descriptions of their time together, making him part of her family. Dog parks, long walk and playtime with her family’s pet were just part of their routine. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again. And he smelled great when I picked him up! She bathed him (which is no easy task.)”

“She did an amazing job taking care of my baby girls, updating me every step of the way. Will definitely be using her again next time I need a sitter in Greensboro!! ❤️”

“Tippy did very well while staying with Rachelle and Chris. He liked the attention he got and the time he got to spend outside in the sun. He especially liked the raised bed on the porch. His hosts were kind enough to send us pictures of his time with them. They said he was a very good boy while they cared for him.”

“Carrie took great care of my fur baby.Carrie went above and beyond to care for all of Bella needs.I was on vacation and was at ease due to Carrie giving me updates and sent all those precious pictures.Carrie showed and gave Balla so much love and attention.I highly recommend and definitely will use Carrie in the future.”

“This was my dogs first time experiencing being boarded this way. He had such a great time. Krystal took very good care of him and updated me with photos and video of him. Thank you for caring for him as if he were your own. Definitely booking again with you.”

“Holly was an amazing host. Our 10 month old doodle was well cared for and happy. Holly shared daily updates and was always available whenever I texted. I really appreciate Holly's whole family for taking such great care of Gus.”

“Mary was fantastic. She kept me updated with how my dog, Gemma, was adjusting and sent great photos that made it obvious her family was enjoying Gemma and Gemma was loving her time there as well.”

“First time using Rover. It was a great experience, it’s never easy leaving a pet in the hands of someone else. Grace seemed to do well with Rebecca and her family. I would recommend her!”

“We couldn't have asked for a more positive experience with Patty! She was flexible and responsive, and had a super clean and impressively pup-friendly house. Upon arrival, her two sweet dogs immediately made friends with us and our pups (even though they can be shy and one is a bit stand-offish). Patty is highly competent and responsible; she paid attention to the care instructions (yay!), asked pertinent questions, and sent us updates. She went above and beyond to take excellent care of our somewhat needy canines. Our vacation was so much better than usual knowing our dogs were in great hands. After pick-up, our pups were visibly relaxed, happy, and tired--like kids coming home from a fun summer camp. Our only complaint is that Patty doesn't live closer! We have tried many sitters, and Patty is definitely among the best!!”

About: Dogs have been a central part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve navigated everything from the 'puppy phase' to the delicate needs of senior dogs, including hands-on medical care like shots and daily meds. These days, I spend my time with Alfie, my 3-year-old Golden Retriever. I’ve raised him since he was a puppy, training him myself and enjoying our daily routine of fetch and lounging. I’ve never met a dog I didn't like, and I’m just as comfortable handling a tiny Terrier as I am a powerful Cane Corso! I work full time as a teacher. I’m around most evenings (after 3) and most weekends to dog sit, walk, or board. I like to put pet parents minds at ease, just as a I do in the classroom! As a professional educator, I bring a high level of safety, accountability, and care to my students and pets. I treat every dog as if they were my own, with a focus on security and routine. I’m happy to let your pups out for some fresh air in a fenced yard or take them on leashed walks to burn off some energy.
About: I’ve taken care of my pup since July 2021. July, 2022 I took care of my dad’s dog (along with my own) for 9 days. I’m on hand for my dad when he has to go out of town unexpectedly so his dog is cared for. I currently work full time. My job is hybrid, meaning I’m in an office 3 days and work remote 2. I am available most weekends and evenings the days I work from home. I live in a townhouse, so for walks I use a leash. I do also have space for crates, if your dog needs one. Due to my living space, it may be more comfortable for your pet to stay in their home.
“Zoey was great with my Jett! Zoey was friendly and accomodating and treated my Jett like her own. They went on lots of walks and she gave Jett lots of love and attention. She sent me photos on the night of, and the next day, even though it was just an overnight stay. I felt comfortable leaving Jett with her, even though Jett is high energy and very very needy. I will absolutely use Zoey again and soon!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
