“We had a great experience! Very accommodating to our dog’s needs and made sure he was comfortable and well cared for. It gave us peace of mind knowing our senior pup was in such good hands. We would definitely recommend and would happily book again. 🐾”

About: I have always had a fondness for animals, I believe they show us the best parts of love! I have taken care of many animals including cats, dogs, and goats for many friends and family. I love spending time with the little babies who need a bit of extra attention, time, and patience! I am currently employed full time within walking distance from my apartment. I go on walks in the morning and evening, and would love more companions! I have a knack for reading how people/animals are doing in new situations, so I do my best to provide a gentle, patient, and loving home away from home!

“Yasmeen took such good care of our pup, Elly! Elly is a very high-energy Boston Terrier who gets anxious if she is home alone for too long, so we are so thankful we could find Yasmeen who worked from home and could be there for Elly!”

“Nelcy was fantastic! She kept our two high-energy Aussies, and everything was great. She sent pictures and updates throughout the week and went out of her way to make our dogs comfortable. We would definitely board with her again in the future and recommend her to other pet parents looking for a reliable sitter.”

About: Hi! I’m Jennifer, a lifelong dog lover and proud owner of my 5-year-old pup, Scooby. Caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, and I truly believe pets are family and deserve love, patience, and attention just like any other family member. I also had the privilege of caring for another dog for 12 wonderful years before she sadly passed away from cancer, which gave me experience with dogs through all stages of life and taught me how important compassionate care is. I’m currently a teacher assistant so during the Holidays, weekends and out of school for the summer I’ll be available any time. So I can make sure I give lots of love and attention to your love ones. I live in a safe, pet-friendly apartment complex with two gentle young children under 7 who have grown up around dogs and love animals. Your pet will be welcomed into a warm, caring environment where they’ll receive plenty of affection, playtime, and attention while you’re away. Whether your dog loves cuddles, walks, playtime, or simply relaxing, I’ll make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and treated like part of the family.
“First time boarding my 6 year old Pomeranian. Jared and Mandy were great!! I was so nervous leaving Henry for the first time and they made me feel very comfortable and at ease leaving him. I received text messages and pictures letting me know how Henry was doing. If I sent a text, I received a response right away. I will definitely book with them again!!”

“Awesome sitter! Sharonda and her dog were very friendly and inviting from beginning to the end. She checked in frequently regarding Benji and sent pics while I was away. I would definitely recommend her for your pet care needs!”

About: I have over four years of hands-on experience caring for my own dog, including managing illnesses, administering medications, and recognizing when something isn’t quite right. Through this experience, I’ve learned to pay close attention to canine behavior and body language, allowing me to pick up on subtle cues about a dog’s comfort, needs, and emotions. I understand how to respond calmly in emergency situations and how to help dogs feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether it’s encouraging a dog to eat, maintaining their routine, or simply providing companionship, I approach every dog with patience, attentiveness, and genuine compassion. I truly see dogs as family members and believe they deserve the same respect, kindness, and care that we give to people. My goal is to make every dog feel loved, secure, and understood while they’re in my care. As a therapist who works from home, I am able to provide consistent supervision and attention throughout the day. My schedule includes regular breaks, allowing me to attend to your dog’s needs, offer potty breaks, playtime, walks, affection, and companionship without long periods of separation. My home has a fenced yard for safe outdoor time, as well as multiple rooms that can be used to give dogs their own space when needed. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and are treated like part of the family, creating a comfortable, home-like environment rather than a kennel atmosphere. Most importantly, I will be home the entire time your dog is in my care, ensuring they receive attentive supervision, comfort, and companionship throughout their stay.
“Stephanie and Matthew were wonderful! They were more than accommodating and patient, especially with our last-minute boarding/petsitting request through Rover. They sent daily updates and pictures of our boys during the 4 days, leaving us always reassured and very comfortable with having left our dogs in their care. Highly recommended!”

“Our pups had a good time with them. They got the care they needed including medication administration and catering to their anxiety. They also offered to do a meet and greet beforehand. They shared lots of photos and regular updates.”

“Amazing sitter. Can’t believe we even almost took our boys to a boarding facility, this is the way to go. Gabrielle was fantastic looking after our little furry family members taking them to the dog park, walking regularly and even getting them pup cups for Sam’s birthday. She is also good with giving updates and sending pictures/videos throughout their stay. If Gabrielle is someone you’re thinking about requesting to take care of your fur baby and she is available look no further she’s perfect! <3”

About: My family had two aging beagles I helped care for that eventually passed away. They both required much attention and medication. Any time my family members or friends need someone to watch their dog, they ask me. I have experience working with smaller sized dogs and much bigger dogs. I have also worked at a humane society. I just graduated from grad school so I will have plenty of time to care for your fur babies and will make sure they are happy and healthy! I will make sure they go to the bathroom regularly, make sure they get plenty of exercise/walks, make sure they are well fed, and make sure they are overall safe and comfortable. It is my job to make sure your fur baby is happy! If using boarding services, my apartment complex is very pet friendly and has a great dog park!
“ashley was super great to work with! she was very understanding of skipper’s needs and i love how she only keeps one at a time as it really helps make the environment less stressful for the dog staying. would definitely recommend her as a sitter!”

“Even though it’s a bit late; me and my girl were headin outta town for Valentine’s Day weekend; found Catie and decided to take our dog Buckeye to visit with her dogs to make sure they got along. After a few minutes everything went well and a couple weekends later we dropped buck off at her house. Throughout the getaway she sent us updates constantly along with pics and a couple videos of her dogs and Buckeye playin and havin fun. She kept our nerves at bay and when we picked him back up he was worn out from playin. We will definitely be using catie from now on. Thank you so much for babysitting Buckeye.”

“Morgan was a GREAT pet sitter for Jiao and Tucker (golden retrievers). They had a great time playing in the back yard and also cuddling on the couch with her kids. Very nice house ... and since she works with animals professionally, we had no worries they were in great hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Winston-Salem
Carson was such a great sitter for my Milano!! She sent pics and updates everyday, made me feel really safe and extra assured that she was taking good care of my baby. Her dogs were also very welcoming so they made him feel right at home! Definitely recommend her!!

They are excellent !!! Very loving and caring for our pets pets are for babies. Especially dealing with our hyper eccentric puppy Cooper lol. He even seems much calmer when he came home .They took excellent care and pictures and videos constant updates and always communicated with us. We are so thankful to have had them to care for our pets and such a great experience. We will definitely be using them again in the future.

Our pup thoroughly enjoyed staying with Mackenzie this weekend. She was snuggled and spoiled and loved playing with her dog too. I felt so relieved to hear that she was doing well in her updates and loved seeing all the fun she was having. I would definitely trust Mackenzie to keep her again!

As first-time users of a pet sitter, we weren't sure how Eren would respond, especially given his high energy. Elisé was exceptionally patient with him and maintained constant communication, providing daily updates and valuable insights throughout our experience. When she dropped Eren off, I could tell he was genuinely sad to leave her. We felt so fortunate to have him in her care!

Rachel took great care of my fur baby and provided updates. This was my first time boarding my dog. She's my emotional support dog so I've only left her with family. All of my family moved to a different state. I was having surgery so, I had no choice but to board Menty. Rachel let Menty and I meet her ahead of time which made me more comfortable and because I was having surgery she was sweet enough to bring Menty home, even though that was not our original deal. I would definitely recommend her and I will use her services in the future. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
