“First time with Elizabeth. Pups seemed happy staying with her. One of them was even dealing with an infection and she was great taking care of him. Would be happy to have them stay with her again. Only wish she sent more frequent photos, but I am obsessed with my pups!”

“Jane was pleasant to work with on our first booking with Rover.com. From the photos and video she sent me we could tell our boy was having a great time staying with her and playing with other dogs. We will definitely use her again in the future.”

“This was my favorite experience ever booking with Rover. The communication was clear and easy, and my dogs came home happy and tired. The environment is clean, we received regular and predictable pictures, and I felt so comfortable with the whole process. I will definitely book with Erica again!”

“Ashley is terrific. Taking our dog to Ashley’s is like leaving our pet at home as she creates an environment that our dog loves. Abby always comes home relaxed, well rested, and happy. We know she gets good care. That is a REALLY good thing to be able to say. We endorse Ashley 100%.”

“It was another fantastic experience! We received so many photos of our girl. Our flight was delayed and we didn’t get home until after midnight. Catherine happily kept Fury an additional night. I can’t thank them enough for their communication and understanding. They take such good care of our baby!”

“Danielle was The Best!!!! Gus had some issues with anxiety and other things and Danielle helped us through them. She was calm and knowledgeable every day. She sent pictures and eased my separation anxiety too. I have booked again and will always call her when I cannot take Gus with me.”

“Melany is great!! We left our fur baby with her for a week and she sent pictures and he absolutely loved it! We were a little nervous about how he would act considering he is a very energetic dog and especially loved to explore outside so can be a handful at times on the leash but she did absolutely wonderful!! Definitely will be rebooking on our next trip no questions asked!!”

“Kate loves spending time with Samantha and Tim. They were so accommodating with our (very) last minute request for boarding. She was very relaxed in the car ride home and seemed as happy as could be!”

“Odie loved his stay with Erica and Gunnar! She made us feel so reassured while we were away with daily pictures and updates. I'm pretty sure Odie was sad to be picked up after having such a fun week away from home :) Highly recommend!”

Playing on the floor or snuggling on the couch is a common theme in our house. I had another dog as well that loved to have friends come over. They will have a great time playing together. We can use a crate when and if requested, but it is certainly not required.

Ellie and Karson were the perfect sitters for our little dog Chase. They were both so kind and friendly to our family when we first met. The care provided was better than any other place that Chase has stayed before which was evident in the pictures Ellie sent. We loved seeing them while on vacation, just gave us peace knowing he was so well taken care of with lots of extra snuggles!! We will definitely contact Ellie and Karson again! We highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
