About: I've had pets growing up my entire life. I love animals and just enjoy being around them and giving them love! I've taken care of several pets for friends and family and just want to continue to do that for others when needed. I have my own business so I have a very flexible schedule and can be available day or night to take care of your furr babies 😊 My own animals are so friendly and loving and my home would be completely safe for ur furr babies but at this time I won't be able to board any pets at my house. This may change in the future.

Emilee was wonderful! She came by for a meet and greet ahead of time, which gave me so much peace of mind, and took great care of my dogs during a big day for me. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly very comfortable with them. I’m so grateful and would absolutely book with her again.

About: Raised my own dog and his puppy from birth, now experienced with senior care. Pet sitting is natural to me, it's not just a job. I currently have a part time job and in college. My hours vary through the week but they are set depending the season because of school. I have a senior dog, so he can either be relaxed or playful. So I can always adjust to my babies needs and I can do the same for yours!

Aundrea has been so amazing taking care of Gouda. She is very communicative, responsible, and fun! Gouda previously went to a doggy daycare, but I wasn't happy with the care he was receiving. Since Aundrea has been taking care of Gouda, he has been so so happy! I highly recommend reaching out to Aundrea for your pup's needs!

About: I retired from teaching 4 years ago and have been caring for pets in their homes, cleaning litter boxes and taking dogs out for exercise during that time. I have personally owned 2 large dogs well into their senior years. I have had cats my entire life and still have one. I typically take care of cats and dogs when their owners are away; feeding, administering pills, cleaning litter boxes, exercising/playing with dogs, and playing/cuddling with cats. I believe these visits have been the most rewarding activities of my life. As a retired teacher, I am flexible to care for pets any day of the week. I am also willing to stay overnight in your home and be your pet’s companion. I still have a cat of my own on whom I like to check at some point each day if staying nights at another pet owner’s home. Sometimes the owners I serve are away for 7-15 days at a time. I will send daily updates and pictures as well during your absence. I have been providing care for pets in the owners’ homes. I therefore water and feed the cats and dogs and administer pills, if needed. I clean litter boxes and tidy up, making sure pet hair, etc. is cleaned up. I get the mail and take out trash. I play/cuddle with the cats and exercise/play/cuddle with the dogs. I love to walk so I never get enough of walking dogs. I take extra precautions if dogs are anxious when I have to leave for a while, i.e., leave music or TV playing or do something special with the dogs before I leave. The dogs usually sleep in the bed with me and we become great friends.

About: I've taken care of dogs/pets my whole life, my passion only grew larger for them as I grew older. They are truly the heart of the world and they give us the motivation to keep pushing forward. Not only do I have personal experience caring and medicating animals, but I also have experience dealing with aggressive dogs as well as previous experience working in a kennel/doggy-daycare where I cared for, walked, and medicating cats and dogs in my daily routine. I am also going to NC State currently, going to be a junior in the fall, majoring in animal science which has provided me with so much knowledge on animals and how to best care for them, ranging many species but specializing in companion animals. I'm currently out of college for summer break so I have plenty of time to spend with your furry family members and make sure they get the best experience possible while you're away. Personally, I have 2 cats and share 2 more and a dog with a disability with my mom so for me, pet care is a normal daily routine and therefore other forms of pet care are no hassle to add on and I'd love to help out and make sure you and your pet are getting what's best for the both of you! Having companion animals of my own, I know how worrisome it can become when you leave your door open to a stranger, especially with your furry friend's life at hand. Just know I would never treat an animal, person, or home with any type of disrespect nor would I ever imagine doing so. I treat others' things as my own and I'd say I keep things pretty organized and clean. Also, it is important to know that I am not only an animal enthusiast but I am also an animal welfare enthusiast and would do anything in my power to keep your furry friend safe under my watch.

About: I’m a dedicated cat owner of two adorable cats and understand how important routines, litter box monitoring, feeding schedules, and daily updates are for pet parents. My childhood dog passed away last year, but he was an 110 lb German Shepherd /Alaskan Malamute and I would walk him daily, so I am no stranger to big dogs! I will make sure to send many update pics 😊 Use my code below for $20 off your first Rover! https://www.rover.com/sit/audref10358 I currently work a 9-5 but am off at 12 on Fridays, so I am available after work for walks and drop-in’s as well as anytime Friday after 1 and anytime on the weekends! My cats are indoor cats but I am no stranger to taking care of dogs, and big ones at that. Your pet’s safety is my #1 concern

About: I’ve taken care of so many different kinds of dogs since I was a little girl, from helping with breeding, nursing baby puppies back to health, potty training, growing up, and also as they grew old. Small dogs, medium dogs, large dogs, they all have been a part of my life of which I have enjoyed. Sadly, seizures and surgeries with daily medications have also been a part of the care I have given. I LOVE animals and love on any of those in my care like they are my own. I’m off work in the summers and can board all days of the week. When I go back to work, I can still board dogs all days of the week, but would just be away from home during my working hours. I have a fenced in backyard and two friendly dogs that will keep your pup comfortable while you are away. I also have two crates that can be used unless you prefer to bring your own. Dog beds, blankets, and dog water are available at all times.

About: Hi! My name is Rebecca. I grew up with dogs and cats in my household. I have experience caring for both small and large dogs, cats, and other animals. For the past two years, I have provided around-the-clock care, overnight care, and walking and drop-in visits for a different pet care company. I not only cared for dogs and cats, but I lived with and cared for my roommate’s four ferrets: Ranger, Rogue, Bard, and Cleric. I have recently moved back home and would love to continue to meet and care for new furry friends! I currently have a lot of free time over the summer and I am available any day of the week for drop-ins, dog walking, or house sitting services. I always want to make sure that I am following the pet’s own specific schedule so that they can be comfortable and relaxed while the owner is away.

About: Hi! I’m 25 years old and a lifelong animal lover with over 10 years of hands-on pet care experience. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Whether your furry (or feathered!) family member needs a walk, a quick drop-in visit, overnight care, or extended sitting, you can count on me to provide reliable, loving care while you’re away. I currently have an Australian Shepherd mix and a pet bird, so I’m experienced with both dogs and exotic pets. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all sizes, ages, and personalities, and I understand that every animal has unique needs and routines. I’m also experienced and confident in administering medications, whether that means pills, liquid medications, or following specific care instructions to keep your pet healthy and comfortable. My friends, family, and previous clients consistently describe me as dependable, compassionate, and attentive. I’m proud to have glowing references from pet owners who trust me to care for their beloved companions, and I work hard to earn that trust with every visit. Your pet’s safety, happiness, and well-being are always my top priorities. I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love, attention, exercise, playtime, and updates so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. I’m currently available for overnight stays, drop-in visits, dog walking, and other pet care services, and I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pets. I can’t wait to give them the same level of care and affection that I give my own! Pet care is already a part of my everyday routine, so caring for additional pets fits seamlessly into my schedule. I start and end each day caring for my own Australian Shepherd mix and pet bird, making sure they receive plenty of exercise, enrichment, attention, and love. Because I’m already committed to a structured pet care routine, I’m able to easily incorporate walks, drop-in visits, feedings, playtime, medication administration, and overnight stays for my clients’ pets. I understand how important consistency is for animals, so I make it a priority to follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. Whether it’s an energetic puppy that needs extra playtime, a senior pet requiring medication, or a shy cat that just needs some quiet companionship, I’m happy to provide personalized care that helps your pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my highest priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s unique routine, personality, and needs so they feel comfortable and secure in my care. Whether we’re out on a walk, playing at home, or simply relaxing together, I remain attentive and patient while ensuring they stay safe at all times. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos, so you can feel confident knowing your pet is happy, loved, and in good hands.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes for friends and neighbors and genuinely enjoy spending time with them. Whether your dog loves long walks, playtime, or extra attention, I’ll make sure they stay happy, active, and well cared for while you’re away. I am a pre-med student at NC State that is looking to continue caring for animals and enjoy doing it! I am home for the summer and have a flexible schedule. I’m organized and good at planning ahead, which helps me stay consistent with visits and make sure pets are cared for on time. I ensure they are always fed, hydrated, cared for, and active throughout the experience to ensure the pets remain happy and healthy. I will play with the pet and take them for lots of walks. About: I’ve been the family’s pet caregiver since very a very young age. I wanted to be a vet as a child but life took me a different way. Now that I am changing careers/paths, I’ve decided this a great time to spend more time caring for pets. I love dogs, cats, horses, wild life…I recently made a life change to have more time to enjoy the things I love, and taking care of furr babies is one of those things. I love walking and playing so high energy dogs will be happy campers. I’m also an avid hobbyist photographer with a professional camera and I love photographing pets, so I can always do that for you as well on my visits! I’m comfortable with cats, dogs of all sizes, so long as they’re not aggressive. Im currently free and enjoying life, so I’m hoping to do a lot of pet sitting/walking/playing. I’m available several hours each week to take care of your pet. I have two dogs (130 lbs boy and 55lbs girl) and two cats, so I feel I’m well versed in taking care of multiple pets if that’s what your need. If you only have one, I’m also perfectly comfortable with that and he/she will be showered with love, care and play time.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
