“Stephanie and Matthew were super easy to communicate with. Our Rose had a wonderful doggie vacation and had other pups to play with to help get some of her energy out. They have a great backyard for Rose to run and play.”

“Thank you, Victoria, for taking such great care of Moon! She truly understands dogs and treats them like family. I highly recommend her, especially for dog boarding.”

“Ellie and Carson did an amazing job taking care of our sweet Uri! From the start, they were kind, communicative, and made us feel completely comfortable leaving Uri with them. You can tell they truly love animals and treat them like family. They made sure Uri was safe, happy, and well cared for while we were away. When we picked Uri up, he was excited and waiting at the door but yet he looked relaxed and content at the same time, which means everything to us as pet owners. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Uri was in such good hands. We are very grateful for the care and attention they gave him. We would absolutely trust Ellie and Carson to watch Uri again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable and caring dog sitters!”

“Jane was absolutely amazing! She took incredible care of Lila and made sure I was updated with the cutest photos, videos and messages the whole time. It was so clear how much she truly loves animals and treats them like her own. I felt completely at ease knowing Lila was in such great hands. I’d book with her again in a heartbeat and can’t recommend Jane enough!”

“Sammy and Walker had a great time at Sanya’s! We received a good amount of pictures and they were always playing with the other dogs or with toys. We would definitely have them stay over with her again.”

“Elizabeth and Nick are Fabulous dog sitters and remarkable couple in their own right. I cannot imagine anyone being more attentive to both the dogs and the owners. Warm and friendly they make you feel like family. I think my dog Sheldon prefers them over me.”

“Tara was amazing with Adidas. Adidas was vey happy there and played with Nana and thy became good friends. Tara kept me updated several times a day with pics. I was very nervous never leaving adidas with anyone but family but Tara put my mind at ease. Thank u. Jeff”
About: I was that kid who would sit in the middle of a chicken coop to play with my feathery friends. Lol I must say that I connect way easier to animals than I do humans, which is something I take to high regard. You can’t fool an animal..they know who you are the minute they lay eyes on you as they show you who they are with no filters every single day. My family growing up was not too keen on pets so I settled for birds and waited for adulthood to volunteer in shelters and later getting my cat (Olivia) and then 7yrs later, my Pup, Bizzy. I don’t have much experience in administering syringe related but already have a handful of experience administering oral. I work full-time as a college admissions counselor and live 10 mins away from the school. I walk Bizzy every morning at around 7:30 - 8 am then I usually visit home during lunch, then I walk her again after coming home and feeding them dinner. I have a 2 bedroom townhouse with a baby door to use around the house, when needed. Whatever is needed of you furry companion, I will come through or let you know honestly if I can’t.
“Kristal was great! Right off the bat, she was understanding when my shift ended late and I had to bring the dogs later than planned. Being our first time ever leaving our dogs somewhere, we were nervous, but she sent us pictures and videos of our boys. She even bathed them before pick up. We will definitely be sure to book with her again. They boys seem to have loved the large space to run around and other dogs to play with!”

“Carrie and Brian were amazing with Bear. They both are very kind and easy to talk to. Carrie sent many daily updates that kept my mind at ease and I had no doubt that Bear was well taken care of. I would most definitely book again!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I will be using it again. Maribel was the perfect sitter for my sweet Annie. She is such a kind soul and sent me so many updates and pics of my sweet girl while I was out of town on business. Great communication and I could tell my pooch was very comfortable and happy with Maribel and her pooch Molly. Will definitely book again”

About: Experienced with energetic and strong willed dogs. Experienced with structured care, consistent routines, and happy dogs :) Will love your pup like it’s my own Caring for pets is already a big part of my everyday life. My routine revolves around making sure my dog is walked, fed, and given plenty of attention throughout the day. Feel free to message me about availability! I typically am available whenever you need!! I have a very friendly and energetic Husky in my home who loves staying active. We go on walks around the neighborhood about every 2 hours for potty breaks, as well as mental and physical stimulation. We also occasionally enjoy car rides to the dog park for extra fun and exercise. Since my yard is unfenced, I have a secure outdoor lead available. If your dog enjoys spending time outside like mine, I’d be happy to accommodate that upon request. For safety and comfort, I also have a crate available and can crate your dog or mine as needed.
“Rover newby here so everything was last minute but Beth was so accommodating and understanding. Woody took right up with her loving nature and made besties with Dodge and the others. She kept me informed all week and she was very quick in responding if I had a question. Definitely recommend. Thank you so much Beth. Woody will be back.”

“Rachelle handled our nervous hound well, understanding he needed a few minutes to evaluate the situation. Meet up before the stay was helpful so our dog could get to know theirs and them.”

“Samantha and Tim are a blessing to our family!! We love dropping off Axel to a place he is loved well! Axel loves his time with them and is happy to see them each time. They send us pictures of his adventures while we are away. Their kids love Axel and that's precious to us since our kids love him as well. Definitely recommend them to friends!”

About: My journey started with owning cats growing up and training every animal I ever owned leading up to my first dog. My cats and even my bird. When I was 12, I started dog sitting Pierre, my mom’s coworkers Yorkshire Terrier. He caused me to fall in love with dogs. I became obsessed with AKC dog shows, my mom and I watched it every Thanksgiving morning after the parade. I actually loved anything with animals. I owned many cats from the age of 4 through my teenage years. I love cats but they can’t do what dogs can. Finally after years of begging, my mom got us our first dog, Omega. He was a beautiful standard poodle and was so smart. My best friends mom had a friend who needed to rehome one of hers, he was 1 when we got him and I taught him all he knew from down, stay to jumping over a pole. Before going off to college I chose to foster dogs in need and I fostered three successfully who went off and found their forever homes. It was the most rewarding thing. So I decided if I can work with dogs my entire life and just be around them all day for a job Id be in heaven! Naturally my teenage brain thought “I’ll be a Veterinarian”! I completed 3 years at Virginia Tech majoring in Animal & Poultry Science doing the Companion Animal Tract. I was able to receive a lot of hands on experience with animals of all kinds; pigs, cattle, sheep, horses and chickens (of all ages). I learned skills from halter breaking heifers to administering shots in 3 different ways. Though I do enjoy animals of all kinds I eventually came to the realization that I thoroughly enjoy training dogs and I’m constantly training my own. I currently have two that im working with regularly just for fun at one point and so it dawned on me that I’m in the wrong career. So while in the process of developing and launching my own personal Dog training and boarding business. Since I work from home, I have the time and knowledge to be able to dedicate to helping others who are in need of these services now. Trusting their fur babies will receive the best of care and would be made to feel at home. If your baby is more comfortable in their own home I’m happy to accommodate to their needs. Leaving your fur babies is not always easy, trust me, I’m having to do it for the first time soon myself and with me you can have the peace of mind that your furry friends will be in great hands, as I will treat them just how I’d expect mine to be treated ! With nothing but love, care and patience. I have Experience with all ages! Omega was with us until he passed at the age of 14! My dogs recently had an accidental litter and I raised up 10 puppies who all lived and are 12 weeks old now ! I’m familiar with administering pills or medications if necessary. 7 puppies remain in my care as I want to make sure they go to great homes and I plan to train them as service dog prospects ! I train dogs in basic and advance obedience, on and off leash training, and some skills like protection and sport work. I work from home full time starting my work day at 12:30 pm and ending at 9 pm. I get two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch through the day. During which they would be able to potty and play. So your furry friend will always have someone home with them. It is a goal of mine to eventually do this full time. I have A large yard on an acre property. Dogs who are trained off leash can roam in the back which has rock boarders lining the property. For those not trained off lead i have A long 30 ft lead which will still allow them the freedom to run around. I have two adult dogs and a litter of puppies still with me who can keep any anxious friends company. And for those who need to be alone, my two can be kept upstairs in my room and the puppies can be crated leaving your friend the entire downstairs to roam or in my work office with me while I work. I have two large crates which can be used if your friend has a hard time getting settled in a new environment. I provide an enriching environment where your fur baby will learn how to be a better k9 citizen everyday ! Picture and video updates can be sent regularly !
“Rachel was amazing!!!!! You can tell she loves animals. My dog is very skeptical of anyone. However, Cooper ran right in as if he was home. We picked him up a couple of days later and I have to tell you that …he looked happy. We even forgot his food by accident and Rachel went and got some for him (i reimbursed of course….don't tell her I told you she did that because she did it only because cooper is her favorite!! Lol). She is a professional and I am looking forward to his next stay with Rachel!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington
Having owned dogs all my life, yet never having to board one, I wasn’t sure where to look and was certainly anxious about leaving my little buddy. Savanna did a great job making Koda feel welcome and comfortable in his new home for the week. I got regular updates on how Koda was doing and quick answers to any questions I had. Koda had his first birthday while in her care and she made sure he knew it was his special day. Couldn’t be happier with his stay! Thanks for everything Savanna!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
