“Ruth boarded my dog Jack for five days , she sent pictures every day which helped a lot. Jack fell in love as soon as he met her because he loves all the scratches and rubs. Enzo, Ruth's dog is a big loveable baby and Jack and Enzo got a long well. When I picked Jack up he was his happy healthy self.. No complaints from me and I just re-booked.”

“Ellie was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about dogs. A good home and yard for dogs. I feel very comfortable about taking Molly there for our next trip. I hope they are available the next time we need card for our elderly dog.”

“Rachelle was happy to help with our big boi and his new megaesophagus diagnosis that threw a wrench in our vacation plans. She did a great job with him and kept us updated the entire trip, and we are so grateful!”

“Melany was great taking care of our two very energetic pups. She sent photos once a day and took them for walks. I love that she has a nice sized yard for them to run around in. I wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

“Kim was wonderful with our dog Harry. This was Harry’s first time being boarded in a long time and Kim was extremely patient with him and took the time to ensure that he was always comfortable. I would book her again in an instant.”
“Beth was so good with my dog. It was a last minute booking and she was so incredibly accommodating. I am so appreciative of her and her gentle nature caring for my pup. She also fosters a dog and he and my dog got along well, and even tuckered my high energy border collie/aussie mix out. She was so intentional in caring for my dog that she was worried about keeping her clean after long play sessions in her fenced in yard that was muddy from the rain, and that means a lot. That somebody watching my dog would care enough to keep her clean. Thanks so much Beth, if I ever need a sitter again, I know where to turn.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats well over 40 years. This includes small and large animals of many breeds including young animals and also seniors with temperaments as well. I'm a dedicated animal lover with hands on experience caring for dogs and cats and other animals as well. I currently work from home so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet and allow potty breaks as needed as well. I have a fenced back yard and two friendly animals (cat and dog) to keep your fur baby happy and comfortable while being cared for. I will also provide companionship, cleaning litter boxes and pet areas, and ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities and my goal is to treat every pet s if they were my own, giving their owners peace while away and knowing they will be in good hands.

“Yasmeen took such good care of our pup, Elly! Elly is a very high-energy Boston Terrier who gets anxious if she is home alone for too long, so we are so thankful we could find Yasmeen who worked from home and could be there for Elly!”

“Paisley was great! Very communicative and easy to deal with. Gave us great updates while we were away and made coordinating pickup and drop off very easy. Definitely will hire her again!”

“First time using Rover. It was a great experience, it’s never easy leaving a pet in the hands of someone else. Grace seemed to do well with Rebecca and her family. I would recommend her!”

“Leo stayed with Bri over a long weekend and had an absolute blast! Bri was so communicative, flexible with pick up and drop off and most importantly, treated our boy like family. We will definitely be booking with Bri again!”

“You were absolutely amazing! I could see that Daisy was absolutely being taken care of, and in great hands! She was smiling in every picture you sent. Thank you for taking care if her! ❤️”

“Our doggo always has the best time and Tara treats him like absolute royalty. We can rest easy knowing he’s in good hands and enjoy the videos and pics of him having a blast. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟”

“Mary and William treated our dogs like their own. They kept us updated with how the pups were doing and just went above and beyond. We would definitely book again in the future. Very happy with our experience!”

“Maribel is incredibly kind and treated our pup like she was her own. And Molly, her basset hound, made fast friends with our dog, who can be a little reactive when meeting new dogs. Maribel is an excellent communicator and sent us pictures and updates which we really appreciated. We look forward to having Maribel and Molly watch our dog again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lexington
Having owned dogs all my life, yet never having to board one, I wasn’t sure where to look and was certainly anxious about leaving my little buddy. Savanna did a great job making Koda feel welcome and comfortable in his new home for the week. I got regular updates on how Koda was doing and quick answers to any questions I had. Koda had his first birthday while in her care and she made sure he knew it was his special day. Couldn’t be happier with his stay! Thanks for everything Savanna!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
