“My girls loved Beth! This was their first time not staying with family so I was a little worried but Beth made me feel at ease immediately! She made sure to keep me updated and sent lots of pictures! I highly recommend trusting her with your fur babies! 💕”

“Ashley was so great! I just moved to the area but previously used Rover in TN. Ashley was very responsive and kept me updated with how Brody was doing with text and photos. It’s so comforting having someone so attentive keep my boy while I’m out of town. I will definitely be using Ashley again in the future! Thanks so much ?”

“Keri was absolutely wonderful!!!! We needed a much needed dog sitter for July 4th weekend. Everyone was either booked or not interested, or no response. After a couple of responses our family agreed on Keri because we believed there was something really special about her. She was also about 40-50 mins away from where we were staying. We didn't care because we felt it was worth it. We were traveling from out of state visiting family. We have an American bully and was so nervous because it was his first time with anyone else overnight. Communication was excellent. She always responded and had a welcoming spirit from day one inquiring. When we arrived we had a hard time leaving Drako because he was not feeling it. He actually snapped at Keri a couple of times and was very protective of the new surroundings. When I say Keri held it down she really did. She welcomed us and there was 7 of us, our 4 children, niece , my husband and myself into her home to help get Drako acquainted. It was too late to try any other option but she was more than willing to stick in there. We spent almost 2 hours getting Drako comfortable and we pulled every trick out the bag. Finally he was comfortable after running around the yard and being outside with one of their dogs. He welcomed her and her children in his space and played with the other dogs. He finally took treats from Keri and went near her without snapping. Once getting him settled we snuck out once he was well relaxed and when we thought he was calm and not going to run behind us out the door. With our surprise we received pics of Drako calm and getting rubs from her husband and family and they fell in love with him. He was in a safe and very clean environment with a loving family and Drako became one with them. I absolutely would recommend Keri to anyone who needs a dog-sitter. She’s the best. I will go out my way to bring Drako to Keri when we travel again. She was the absolute best. There’s not enough words of gratitude to Thank Keri and her family for all they did for our boy. Keri is and will always be our number 1!”

“Jacob did an awesome job taking care of Bella while I was away. His experience with service dogs is definitely a plus! Bella felt right at home with him as well as his 3 dogs. She will definitely be coming back again real soon!”

“Michelle was so great at sharing pics so I could see how much our Brady enjoyed cuddling and being part of her family for Labor Day weekend. I would highly recommend her to watch your fur baby.”

“Our dog was treated like one of the family at Nancy’s home! There was great communication with updates and photos during our time away. I highly recommend Nancy and will definitely use her again!”

“Our second time booking with Debora. She is our go to for when we need a dog sitter. She is amazing. We got lots of pictures and updates. I feel completely comfortable leaving our dog with Debora and would recommend to anyone considering using Rover.”

“Karen did an absolutely amazing job caring for Bucky! From the moment we met her, it was clear how genuinely kind, attentive, and dependable she is. She treated Bucky like her own, making sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. Her updates gave us complete peace of mind, and we could tell Bucky was relaxed and content in her care. It’s not easy to fully trust someone with your pet, but Karen exceeded every expectation. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable, and exceptional sitter.”

“Yelena is the BEST dog sitter I have ever used. She is so wonderful in every way taking care of my Pepper and sending wonderful pics and videos the whole time we were away which really made me happy. What a great person and lover of dogs!”

“Bri and her family love our dog, Cooper. We had an almost two week trip and we knew that Cooper was in great hands. We're already planning our next booking!”

“Dennise was great with my senior pup. Very patient and accommodating. Pretty Boy was very comfortable with her. We will definitely be back for another stay!”

“Leslie watched my puppy Winnie for a week while we were out of town for spring break and I can't recommend her enough! Communication was amazing, Leslie and her husband were so kind, they had a huge fenced yard for the dogs and Winnie came home exhausted!”

“Brooke and her family were so great with our dogs! They gave them lots of exercise and sent us pictures every day, which made being away a lot easier! Highly recommend ?”

“Margaret took great care of our senior golden. He got to go for long walks and play with her sweet dog. I don’t think I he wanted to come home! We will gladly ask to to care for our pup again in the future.”

“Brittany has been great with my pups. I felt super comf with them staying with her and her family. It helps a lot that she has her pup with her, who's super extroverted and helped get my younger dog out of his shell. I strongly recommend her! I'm just bummed that she's moving away from me 😞”

“Meagan and crew were great to work with. They took such good care of Macy. She was so comfortable that she just left us and walked straight into their house. They have a wonderful fenced in yard. I got updates and some pics. I would definitely use Meagan again.”

"I ALWAYS SAY, IF YOU WANT TRUE LOVE, GET A DOG." - DOLLY PARTON I work from home, so I am able to give plenty of love, attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
