“Cassie has watched Blue twice for us now and he’s done great both times. He loves chasing all the squirrels in the backyard and playing fetch and chase. I feel so good leaving him there. Thank you!”

“I was so nervous leaving my Snoop with someone for the first time and Hope made things so much better. She sent pictures and messages the whole time! Snoop loved it I will definitely use her again if I need to!”

“Kayla, her husband Michael (and their kids) made my boys (Bonanza and Jackson) feel so incredibly loved! Jackson is a senior dog with mobility issues, but he still was part of the action. Bonanza loved playing with the kids and other pups and running around the back yard. The kindness, care and compassion of Kayla and her family was just so special. I felt good knowing the pups were in such amazing hands and loved the photo updates. I look forward to boarding with Kayla again…and the boys do too!”

“Jasmin is a great pet sitter. We went on a cruise vacation and she took care of our two doodles while we were away. She did a great job and she sent me updates throughout the week of how the dogs were doing. If you need a pet sitter I would highly recommend Jasmin.”

“This was the second time Carrie watched our dog, and she once again exceeded our expectations. We felt completely at ease leaving our fur baby in her care. She is dependable, attentive, and truly treats our pup like one of her own. We are so grateful for her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet sitter.”

“Arleen and her husband John were fantastic! You can tell they are true dog people. They were very warm and welcoming and sent lots of photos / videos to keep us updated on Max. They're our new go to dog sitters moving forward. Thank you both so much again”

“I really appreciated the quick responses and updates from Vedad and Karina. They were both very kind and easy to work with, and I am very grateful they were able to take care of Echo. Will definitely rebook in the future!”

“Amy & Ross continue to be excellent caregivers for our pups! Communicative and willing to go the extra mile (and that includes literally in the form of hikes), you can rest assured they will keep your pups happy and healthy”

“Rachel and her family made our Bella feel like she was at her 2nd home. Absolutely would recommend her services! Great people and it’s obvious they love dogs. Thank you Rachel for being there for us on such short notice.”

About: I have always watched all my families fur babies. They have been well loved just as my own. I’m always watching training videos on dog behavior as to be ready at all times and recognizing when to step in. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m always home majority of my days unless I’m running errands. So they are in my care at all times. I love to send videos and pictures to keep everyone updated. So I’m hoping to love on your fur-babies soon. I’m a stay at home mom. So I’m home almost all of my days unless I’m out running an errand or out with my sister doing an activity with my kids. But most of my days consist of being at home. I don’t have a fenced in yard but I have a really big back yard and open front yard and woods. We are back in the corner of the woods. I also have 2 big dogs that will help guide your dog on how to do things. I also have a crate if need be for a large breed dog if that’s something they are use too. I’m more than welcome to walk your dogs on a leash if you felt more comfortable
“Whitney is such a nice person and took great care of my dogs. I am so happy to have found her and appreciative of the great care she took of my dogs. Can’t wait to use her again!”

“This was my first time using Stacey and she was GREAT! My dog had an allergic reaction the day I was supposed to drop her off and go to the beach, Stacey still agreed to keep my dog. She regularly sent pictures and kept me updated. I will definitely be using her again!!”

About: Experienced with energetic and strong willed dogs. Experienced with structured care, consistent routines, and happy dogs :) Will love your pup like they’re my own Caring for pets is already a big part of my everyday life. My routine revolves around making sure my dog is walked, fed, and given plenty of attention throughout the day. Feel free to message me about availability! I typically am available whenever you need!! I have a very friendly and energetic Husky in my home who loves staying active. We go on walks around the neighborhood about every 2 hours for potty breaks, as well as mental and physical stimulation. We also occasionally enjoy car rides to the dog park for extra fun and exercise. Since my yard is unfenced, I have a secure outdoor lead available. If your dog enjoys spending time outside like mine, I’d be happy to accommodate that upon request. For safety and comfort, I also have a crate available and can crate your dog or mine as needed.
“This was our pup’s first stay with Shawnon and we are so glad we found her. She provided great care and showered our fur baby with a lot of affection and warmth. She kept us informed by providing updates and photos as well as videos. We appreciate her excellent communication skills and will definitely book her again!”

“Karen did an absolutely amazing job caring for Bucky! From the moment we met her, it was clear how genuinely kind, attentive, and dependable she is. She treated Bucky like her own, making sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. Her updates gave us complete peace of mind, and we could tell Bucky was relaxed and content in her care. It’s not easy to fully trust someone with your pet, but Karen exceeded every expectation. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable, and exceptional sitter.”

“First time using Rover for our dog Luna. We were a bit skeptical to use this app but after going through reviews and finding Lyann she made it super comfortable with us. Having a meet and greet at the dog park went great and safe for us and our dogs to get to know each other. She answered any questions we had with concerns for our dog. Lyann communicated with us well during Luna’s stay. Sending us videos and photos every evening with updates. Provided toys, a crate, blankets, food bowls, water bowls etc was great because we didn’t have to carry anything but her favorite blanket and food. She also provided a GPS tracking collar for Luna which made us feel more comfortable having her there. After the stay, Lyann washed her blanket and gave Luna a complimentary bath before we took her home. Happy with her services she provided for us and our dog! My boyfriend and I are so pleased finding Lyann and will definitely rebook her again!”

“Super sweet my dog loved her helped me out last minute and was very flexible and accomodating with drop off and pick up times would absolutely choose her when needing to board again”

“Jessie and her family were amazing with Maggie! We received daily updates and pictures of their walks, cuddles, and playtimes. They welcomed Maggie as one of their family! We will definitely use Jessie again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
