“Brenton was amazing!! Sent lots of pictures & it’s clear our dog had a wonderful time. He has a great yard and a very safe space for any dog. Will absolutely be back! Thanks again 😊”

About: I provide a true home-away-from-home experience. I intentionally keep the number of boarding dogs small so every guest receives personalized attention, plenty of playtime, and lots of affection. Dogs stay in a safe, family environment instead of a crowded boarding facility, and I treat every dog like one of my own. I know how important it is to trust someone with your best friend, so I provide daily photo updates and make sure every dog feels comfortable, loved, and cared for throughout their stay. I am currently in nursing school and have a pretty flexible schedule. Thankfully, a lot of my schooling is done from home with the exception of in person clinicals, but your furry friend will always have someone here with them! Rather than caring for large groups of dogs, I host only one family’s dogs at a time. This creates a calmer, safer environment and allows me to provide truly personalized care. Guests enjoy supervised play in a securely fenced yard, plenty of indoor time, and the same love and attention my own dogs receive. My goal is for you to relax on your trip knowing your best friend is safe, happy, and right at home.

“Ashley was so great! I just moved to the area but previously used Rover in TN. Ashley was very responsive and kept me updated with how Brody was doing with text and photos. It’s so comforting having someone so attentive keep my boy while I’m out of town. I will definitely be using Ashley again in the future! Thanks so much ?”

About: I have spent my whole life around dogs. My dad was a dog trainer in Alaska so I was able to learn a lot from him over the years. Since then my family has had our own dog which sadly passed away a year ago after 12 sweet years together. We have dog sat for friends and family over the years as our home makes a great space for dog sitting, but have not professionally dog sat before until now. We work from home so your pup will rarely be on their own. We also have a fenced back yard so they can play outside safely! We have three daughters that love to play with dogs so they will keep them perfectly entertained. We enjoy family walks in our neighborhood that your pup would join us on! We currently have no other pets after our sweet dog passed away a year ago. We miss having a dog in our home but aren’t ready for a new permanent pup so Rover seemed like a wonderful idea for our family. Your dog will be treated as our own with our girls being able to play with your pup in our fenced back yard.
“Mike is an amazing guy! We are so thankful to have found someone who takes the best care of our baby boy and loves him as much as we do. The thing is, our boy is always much better when he returns from a visit with Mike, than when he's with us. Mike works his magic with him every time and we reap the benefits of bringing home a rested, relaxed, and happy little guy. Thanks Mike!”

“Emilia's home was neat and had plenty of space for our dogs. Her dog Amora was very sweet and got along great with ours. She was communicative with lots of photos and updates. We will employ her in the future.”

“Bri and her family love our dog, Cooper. We had an almost two week trip and we knew that Cooper was in great hands. We're already planning our next booking!”

“This is the first time I leave my dog with Casey. My dog was very happy to the point that he didn’t wanna leave. That means he was well taken care of. Thank you so much Casey. I will definitely use you next time for my dogsiter.”

“Lucky felt at home with her dogs. He looked very happy when we picked him up. My 8 year old was nervous, we hadn't been left him before. Leslie sent pictures that put her mind at ease. I will definitely use her service in the future.”

“This was my first time using rover and Stacey didn’t disappoint. She was very diligent and made sure that my dog had a safe and fun time while I was gone. She sent me daily pics and kept me updated on how she did each day. I will definitely be using her again!”

“Henry had a good stay at Norma’s and although he really does not like to be away from us he seemed to be fine when we picked him up and also later when we got him home; he fell back into his routine very quickly. Norma is very knowledgeable about dogs and made several suggestions during our meet and greet that made the transitions and stay that much easier. We will use Norma again when we need daycare or short term boarding.”

We couldn't be happier with the care our Toby received from Carrie! From the moment we met Carrie and Brian, we felt completely at ease. They were reliable and clearly love animals. Throughout our time away, they provided regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. Our dog was happy, comfortable, and well cared for, and it was obvious that Carrie treated him like one of her own. When we returned and picked up our Toby, he was relaxed and content. It's such a relief to find someone we can absolutely trust completely. We would absolutely book with Carrie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet care. Thank you for going above and beyond.

Karen did an absolutely amazing job caring for Bucky! From the moment we met her, it was clear how genuinely kind, attentive, and dependable she is. She treated Bucky like her own, making sure he was comfortable, happy, and well cared for at all times. Her updates gave us complete peace of mind, and we could tell Bucky was relaxed and content in her care. It’s not easy to fully trust someone with your pet, but Karen exceeded every expectation. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable, and exceptional sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
