About: I got my first dog at 15 and have never gone without pets since. I have service dogs and I’m comfortable with working breeds and the training that is associated. I also have a cat, several reptiles, and some misfits critters. There’s really not much I won’t be able to handle given enough information concerning your pet. I’m also a former medic and have plenty knowledge for special needs animals and identifying emergencies. Pet care is the start and end of my day, a lot of my schedule revolves around my mini-zoo. I’m a part time worker with full control over my schedule which allows me to focus deeply on my animal’s needs. I care about my pets as if they are family. Their activity levels, training, affection, diet, and rest are an every day concern. Others pets would be seen the same way and given the same level of care. I have plenty alternative means of caring depending on the pet personality as well, I.e. kennels, separate or same rooms, special walks and even some training thrown around in.
“Carol is exceptional. My dog was immediately comfortable and at home with her. Carol kept me updated with pictures and details of our dog’s stay. I would highly recommend Carol.”

About: Hello everyone, My name is Brooke, I have been dog/ pet sitting ever since I was 14 years old. I am an animal lover and have always had dogs and cats around while growing up. I am a homebody. I am very responsible with pets and take pet sitting very seriously. I want to make sure the owner is as comfortable as possible and also that their fur family members are as well. I truly hope to be able to doggie sit for you and friends. I honestly believe that dogs are such a blessing to have in ones life, they live such short lives and deserve to be looked after by someone who cherishes them just as much as their owner do and when their owner is away for whatever reason, that is exactly what I will do for your fur baby. Thank you! Why I love dog/pet sitting I have been a dog and all animal lover all of my life. My parents made sure to always have a loving dog/cat around me at all times. I learned how to take care of a living creature from an early age. That dogs/cats/animals are to be treated with respect and to show nothing but love towards them. It also taught me responsibility from an early age. About my yard The yard is nice and big with a secure fence surrounding the whole property. My experience administering medication I am comfortable with administering medications. I have had to do that with my dogs and cats I have done it previously with other dogs I have dog sat before as well. I am available to board full weekends as I do not work. I will make sure the get plenty of lovings while you are out and about. I work full time during the week but am able to be home by 4pm. I have a fenced in backyard with plenty of safe space. If I’m at your home I will do what is normal for you furry family member(s) so they can feel as comfortable as possible.
“I had a great experience leaving my dog Theo with Brenton! He was responsive, professional, and very kind. He kept me updated with pictures and messages throughout Theo’s stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. Theo seemed happy, relaxed, and well taken care of when I picked him up. Brenton clearly has a natural way with dogs, and I really appreciated the calm environment he provided. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter. Will definitely book with him again!”

“She is Amazing and will br our go to sitter when she is available to do so we received pictures and videos daily and she spoiled Jazz so much we were afraid she wouldn't want to come home! Definitely a great experience..”

“Our Dakota baby stayed with Kelly for an entire week while his Mom and Dad went on vacation. While Mom was very anxious, as this is her first baby, Kelly reassured her completely. Photos and videos of him playing with other dogs reassured Mom he was in great hands. Though he came home a little "dusty", it again soothed Mom's soul, knowing he had a great time. After all, Kelly lives on a small farm as does Dakota when he is at home with Mom and Dad. I'll take a little dust anytime, which is better than green slime from the pond at home! Thank you again Kelly for taking great care of our Dakota. He will definitely be back!”
“Our dog was treated like one of the family at Nancy’s home! There was great communication with updates and photos during our time away. I highly recommend Nancy and will definitely use her again!”

“Jeannette was awesome! She kept me informed of how Autumn was doing during my trip. She also helped establish new helpful habits. I will definitely use Jeannette again in the very near future.”

About: With me your dog will have lots of wags and a friend to keep him/her busy while you are away. My motto is a “tired puppy is a happy puppy”, and that’s what I bring to every pet experience - a calm approach, energetic play, a lazy nap, or a mixture of all of it depending on your pets needs. Almost 10 years experience dog-sitting has taught me to be aware & respectful of a dog’s boundaries with other animals, and aware of a dog’s need for rest and play to stay happy! Dog’s in my care at my home will have a fenced in yard & will be kept clean, safe, and busy. The best care for your pet is a familiar face, so I hope to build long-term pet-sitter confidence. I work from home & I only take small dogs who are friendly towards other dogs. No cats or children in my home. I currently work fully remote & have a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood so I have regular breaks to play with your pet outside. I have a 12lb doxie who loves other small dogs. As an experienced dog owner & sitter, I always introduce dogs outside for the first meeting. I listen to your dog’s specific care needs & requests. I always communicate on how your pet is doing & can answer questions as they come up so you can be at ease knowing your pet is receiving the best care in my home.
“Super fast response time and she was flexible with me for my last minute booking. My puppy came back clean and calm. She’s such a sweet lady I’ll definitely book again!”

“Christina is always the best with my 13 y/o dog. He needs pills in the morning and evening, and many walks throughout that the day. She is very friendly and personable in person, making me feel really good about leaving my dog with her. She sends multiple updates with pictures, which assures me Flurry feels at home. She is thorough and attentive, and communicates well with flexibility, if needed. She is..... the best dog sitter! I trust her with my Flurry and have used her twice now and will always book with her!”

“Samantha and her boyfriend took such good care of Maverick! They treated him like he was their own and he got along so well with their dog Ivy😊 We will definitely use Samantha again!”

“We have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Victoria. We contacted her somewhat last minute to care for Sandy and she was able to fit us in for a meet and greet and keep her for us over the weekend. She was responsive to messages, sent photos, and Sandy came home happy and tired (in a good way!). We wouldn’t hesitate to use her again in the future.”

“Ms. Hope was amazing. Great communication and she loves all the pups like they are her own. Even the ones with a little anxiety! I also liked that she dog sits multiple pups so they make new friends. Definitely rebooking! Thank you 💛”

“Alyssa and her husband did an awesome job with Marlowe! They truly listened to my instructions and made Marlowe feel comfortable! They took photos and kept me updated and showed just how my pup son was a happy camper!”

“Brittany took wonderful care of our dog, Lola. She sent pictures and videos everyday and had plenty of love and care. Lola has become best friends with her poodle too! She had a blast running around in the yard and meeting new friends, like goats and horses. I would definitely recommend Brittany, your fur babies will be in good hands!”

Pip had a wonderful week with Itzel. I was very happy with the amount of daily updates I received during his stay with her, along with the pictures and videos of him having so much fun. He was more well-behaved once we got home and I know this was because of her working with him during his stay. I will definitely book Itzel again for future trips and highly recommend her for your pets' needs too!

Deana was amazing with my almost 17-year-old dachshund mix, Duncan! She sent regular updates and the sweetest pictures, which really put me at ease while I was away. She even made sure Duncan got his meds exactly as prescribed, despite finding out she was allergic to them herself. That kind of care and dedication means so much. I’d absolutely trust her with Duncan again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
