“Wynde was fantastic! We left her with our foster dog, who is still transitioning from crisis and kennel life to our home ( 6 weeks) and then to hers for a long weekend. Wynde was so accommodating, as with her family and pets. She was flexible with my schedule changes leaving and coming back in town; went above and beyond with making emotional space for our foster to feel in control, and welcoming any small act toward connection from our foster. It only took two days before I received one of many pictures of our pup laying on top of Wynde, all 45 lbs. I highly recommend her and will call on her again! Debbie”

“We absolutely loooved Cami and our dog loved her more! I believe we’ve found the best fit for our pup and will 100% be repeat customers. She was so loving, knowledgeable and accommodating at every step and our doodles bonded very well during his stay. So happy we found Cami!”

“As always, our dogs were well taken care of and loved! They are so much happier staying with Alejandra than at a kennel. And I am grateful that I never have to worry while I’m away.”

“Great daily updates and I think Zoe enjoyed her time with Linda and Koda. She was napping very comfortably when I went to pick her up!! Thank you again Linda!”

“Kirby was a very happy boy staying with Ilanna and her husband and boys while we were away on vacation. We felt good knowing he was in very capable hands. We will definitely be taking our buddy back to stay with them in the future.”
“Chloe had an amazing experience with Kristian, her family, and her very sweet dogs! She sent pictures and updates daily. Kristian is very experienced, flexible, attentive, and truly loves dogs. Plus, her backyard is huge and gives dogs a wonderful place to play and explore! So happy to have found Kristian and I cannot recommend her enough!! A thousand stars!”

“My Golden Retriever stayed with Vedad and Karina for 2 days and they were great. Very easy to communicate and they sent pictures and updates. He was happy and not stressed when we pick him up. Great service and like to keep him with them again.”

About: I absolutely adore dogs and have been around them my whole life. I currently have two small dogs; a 10 year old male chiweenie, Nalu and an almost 6 year old female mini dachshund, Harlie. We have a doggie door that allows our dogs (and yours if they’re small enough) to go in and out as they please. The backyard is fully fenced and there js plenty of room for sniffing and roaming! I currently work part time from home so I have plenty of time to give your dog all the attention, potty breaks, treats, and love they deserve. I have a fully fenced yard and two dogs of my own. I keep my dogs on a schedule to help with stability and predictability. We go on two walks each day and we’d be happy to bring your pup along, too!
“Stephanie was great! She was very accommodating to the quick request for Sailor to stay. Sailor had a great time playing with her dog Nico and is going to sleep hard after the stay. Stephanie also sent several updates on how he was doing with photos included.”

“It's a positive sign, when leaving your furry baby with a sitter, that his tale is wagging and he's showing he's happy to be there. Barbara gives me PEACE OF MIND , allowing me to enjoy my trip, knowing my dog is being well taken care of with love.”

“Alice and Don took great care of our pug while we were out of town. We received daily pictures and an update on his day. He really enjoyed their big fenced back yard! Thank you Alice and Don for making Obi feel at home! We will definitely book with them again.”

About: I've been around animals my entire life, and caring for dogs has always been something I genuinely enjoy. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to work alongside a family friend who owned a dog walking business in the Chicago area. That experience taught me the importance of building trust with every dog, understanding their individual personalities, and making sure they felt safe and comfortable while away from their owners. Today, I'm the proud owner of two Golden Retrievers, River and Willow, who have given me hands-on experience with every stage of dog ownership. From puppy training and daily exercise to grooming, administering basic care, and maintaining consistent routines, I've learned how important patience, structure, and positive reinforcement are. I've also cared for litters of puppies, giving me experience with newborn and young dogs as well. Whether your dog loves long walks, energetic playtime, or simply wants someone calm and dependable to keep them company, I'll treat them with the same level of care, attention, and affection that I give my own dogs. When your dog stays with me, they'll be treated like one of my own. They'll have plenty of supervised playtime, lots of attention, and access to my large, fully fenced backyard to safely run, explore, and burn off energy. My goal is to create a fun, stress-free environment where every dog feels comfortable, loved, and excited to come back. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate quality time to every pet I care for. Since I already have two active Golden Retrievers, daily walks, exercise, playtime, and maintaining routines are already a big part of my life. I understand how important consistency is for dogs, so I work to keep them on their normal schedule as much as possible, whether that's feeding times, walks, potty breaks, or simply giving them attention and companionship. I pride myself on being dependable, responsive, and making sure every pet receives individualized care. Safety and trust are my top priorities with every pet I care for. I take the time to learn each dog's personality, routine, and any special needs so they feel comfortable and secure from the moment we meet. Whether I'm caring for your dog in your home or mine, I follow your instructions closely and make it a priority to keep their routine as consistent as possible. One of the biggest advantages I offer is a large, fully fenced backyard where dogs have plenty of room to safely run, play, explore, and burn off energy. My own Golden Retrievers, River and Willow, absolutely love spending time outside, and I know how important it is for active dogs to have a safe space to exercise. Of course, all outdoor time is supervised, and I always make sure every dog is comfortable and introduced appropriately. When caring for pets in a client's home, I treat both your home and your pet with the same level of respect and care that I would expect for my own. I provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and receiving plenty of love and attention while you're away.
“Celeste is the best. I had an unexpected delayed flight, and thankfully, Celeste was able to watch my dog longer than I had planned. I was updated regularly with pictures while on vacation that made my day. I knew my dog was in safe hands so I could enjoy my vacation. I definitely will use Celeste again.”

“I had a wonderful experience with this dog sitter! From the very beginning, they were responsive, professional, and genuinely caring toward my dog. They provided regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that they took the time to understand my dog’s needs and personality. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and reliable pet sitter.”

“Judith has a beautiful home with a big back yard - perfect set up for pups. She is very knowledgeable about dogs, and I felt very comfortable leaving my dog in her care. Thank you Judith!”

“Alicia was great with Hudson! She updated me daily and be always seemed happy and playing around! He was exhausted when we got home. I will definitely use her again and would recommend her! Thanks so much!”

Anela is more than awesome! She took care of our older Shepherd lady for the 2nd time and we could not be happier. She really cares for our dog if it is her own. We appreciate her and her amazing support and flexibility. Our dog cannot wait to go back on vacation with her :) Thank you!

I had a wonderful experience! She took great care of Teddy and kept me updated by sending photos throughout his stay, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that Teddy was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. I truly appreciate the love and attention she gave him, and I would definitely trust her to care for Teddy again. Highly recommend! 🐾💙

Monica was truly amazing. My dog does not like to eat when we're away from her but that didn't stop Monica from trying to get her to eat. She took it upon herself to hand feed my dog. If you're looking for a dogsitter that will go above and beyond for your fur baby, please contact Monica. She's the BEST!!❤️

Absolutely went above and beyond for our puppy, bubby! He had never been away from us for so long, but makayla made sure to keep us posted everyday we were out of town. She made sure to adjust to all of his quirks, and make him comfortable in a new space. Would definitely book again and recommend, makayla is soso worth it! Thank you SOO much!! 💖

Taryn was a great sitter. I could tell immediately that she was very experienced and my dog was in good hands. She's a great communicator and I don't think Tyson could have looked any happier in the pictures. Her dog was very well behaved and got along with Tyson easily even though he's always been a little afraid of other dogs. Tyson has been sleeping like a baby since bringing him home!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
