“Shalyn is caring and good in updating us about Max. She accommodated our requests and thanks for making Max feel at home. She is very good and I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Cheryl took such amazing care of our boys! They are old dogs who don’t do well in a boarding environment, so we were thrilled to find Cheryl and feel like they were really comfortable and got lots of personal love and attention while we were away. They also had lots of toys, comfy beds, carpeted floors, and a fenced yard at Cheryl’s house. Will definitely book with Cheryl again!!”

“Once again Apollo and I are very pleased. The sitter sent pictures, kept me updated throughout Apollo's stay! I felt assured knowing that Apollo was in good hands. Apollo loves it there. I'm grateful. Thanks again!!”

“Kayla B. and her family did a wonderful job with our puggle girls. The girls stayed with them for a week. They administered medicine daily to our epileptic dog. The pictures they took were awesome and they messaged us daily to give us updates about our little ones. Our puppies came home happy and tired in the best way! We hope to have our girls stay with Kayla B. and her family again!!! 😊🫶🏻”

“Our senior dog, Watson, has stayed with Molly and her family twice now and we LOVE working with her! She's a fantastic and responsive communicator who sends lots of pictures. Pick-up and drop-off have always been a breeze (even when we had a flight delay that set us a bit off schedule!). They do a great job giving Watson his medicine (daily pills and eye ointment). Most importantly, it is clear to us that Watson loves visiting Molly & her family! He always comes home to us happy and healthy, if a little tired from all the excitement. :-)”

“Judy was so accommodating and took great care of our pup! She was flexible with pick up and drop off and sent us plenty of updates. We will definitely be booking again.”
“Wynde and her family are amazing! We will definitely use her services again with our babies. Taking care of our Pug puppy and our almost 20-year-old Pug is not easy but she did it. As a bonus her and her family live very close to us so it is very convenient to drop off our babies.”

“Haley, took such good care of Eddie! Even let him eat where he was comfortable. Lol spoiling and lots of cuddles is an understatement. For our first time it was seamless and I wouldn't hesitate to have her watch him again.”

“Aw Nova LOVED Liliana and her family! Nova was happy and at peace when I picked her up and that says a lot! I received pictures and updates which put a dog mana at ease 🩷 I know Nova got plenty of outside time and love. Even my doggy bowls came back cleaned! Thank you to you all! I’m sure Nova will see you again! Blessings friends! We loved you!”

“HIGHLY recommend Jessica to take care of your pet! She provided a loving home and a large yard, clear communication and pictures throughout Tucker’s stay. Tucker was SPOILED (I’m surprised he wanted to come back home)! He has some food allergies, and she ensured that he didn’t get into anything that he wasn’t supposed to be eating. Jessica is a true pet lover, and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Chaz was completely fantastic! Very communicative during the stay. Provide updates daily and very flexible when I needed to change drop off and pick up times. Would absolutely use her again!!!”

“This family is just the best. I believe my dog had the best experience ever, he had the best countenance to him when we picked him that shown me he was well taken care of. Not to mentioned loved. The family loved him like he was one of their own and I couldn’t have asked for a better environment. Our dog has special needs and can be a little to handle but they welcomed him and took such good care of him. He was just bouncing and dancing around happy to show me where he had played and his favorite snack they had given him. What a family. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I will most definitely be using them again.”

“Peggy was fantastic with Piper! She took great care of her and kept me updated the whole time, which gave me real peace of mind. Piper was happy, comfortable, and clearly well cared for. I’d definitely book with Peggy again!”

“Ms. Jeanette always takes such good care of our Nala girl. Very attentive and caring sitter. She sent us videos and pictures every day. Nala got some good exercise in with those long walks too! Thank you 😊”

“Dogs are exhausted guessing from all the fun they had. Thanks for sending pictures daily. It certainly eased my anxiety of leaving them for 6 days. Thanks for the great care!”

“Cami took awesome care of Mr. Smokey. He had an awesome time. She kept in contact sending pictures and videos. He looked happy. Thank you Cami for taking care of our little guy while we are away. Will definitely book again 😊”

“Kristian was very flexible when our plans changed for our trip. She sent pictures of our dog which was nice. Her communication was a great! We would definitely recommend her and use her again! Thanks for taking such good care of our Great Dane Scooby!”

“Amy and Ross are super caring and my pup Avery is always excited to stay with them. He is blind and they makes sure he’s safe and gets exercise and lots of love, so he has a great day when he hangs at their house!”
About: Hi! Last year my 3 year old pup Cora accompanied me on a 6-month, 1800 mile thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. That experience gave me so much time to focus on how to best meet her needs, including socialization, recall, and the obedience needed to stay safe and calm in new situations. Now I am back and I would love to spend some quality time with yours too! - I enjoy taking care of cats as well, which I have had many of throughout my life. More recently I have some done newborn kitten fostering, and support my teenager daughter’s grassroots TNR program. I am currently working part-time and will open my calendar for clients to book as my schedule allows. I may have more availability or flexibility than what the calendar shows, so feel free to reach out and ask! I tend to have an easy time gaining the trust of my new furry playmates, especially when I bring treats, but I am also careful to follow all dietary needs and any other requests from the owner. I know how important it is to be able to trust that your sitter will take care of your pet with kindness and respect. :)

Elizabeth & Kevin are always so amazing with my babies. Leaving on an international trip for 2 weeks, and knowing they are safe and being loved on like one of their own is priceless! I never have to worry about them when I drop them off, as Bugs & Willow are always so excited to see them! I get tons and pictures and updates that let me know they are having the best time and getting extra spoiled! Thanks so much for everything you do for them!

Chloe had an amazing experience with Kristian, her family, and her very sweet dogs! She sent pictures and updates daily. Kristian is very experienced, flexible, attentive, and truly loves dogs. Plus, her backyard is huge and gives dogs a wonderful place to play and explore! So happy to have found Kristian and I cannot recommend her enough!! A thousand stars!

We went on a one-week family vacation and left our cat, Lu Lu, in the care of Zach & Alex. They did an excellent job taking care of her and gave us peace of mind while we were away. Lu Lu was happy, healthy, and well cared for when we returned. We truly appreciate their kindness, reliability, and attention to detail. We highly recommend Zach & Alex to anyone looking for trustworthy and caring pet sitters!

I had a wonderful experience with this dog sitter! From the very beginning, they were responsive, professional, and genuinely caring toward my dog. They provided regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious that they took the time to understand my dog’s needs and personality. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and reliable pet sitter.

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter than Chasalen. Our dog had a nervous belly for most of our trip, and she was incredibly attentive, communicative, and compassionate the entire time. She went above and beyond - trying a different diet for the pooch, keeping us updated, and making sure our pooch felt loved and comforted. We are so grateful for the amazing care she provided and would absolutely trust her again!

Janice W treats her boarders with the same level of love as if it was her own dog. Her house is set up to be a dog resort. She has everything a dog would want to include toys and treats. Janice would text us with updates on how our Hetman was doing to include pictures. Hetman was on some medications and she would notify us when the pills were given. She is one of a kind and we would have no hesitation in boarding our dog with her again. Our Hetman was returned to us a very happy dog.

Cooper has stayed many times with Summer. She was professional, and clearly experienced with dogs of all needs. My dog was happy, relaxed, and well cared for each visit. And looks forward to returning. I really appreciated the updates, photos, and communication while I was away. When I pick him up, he’s clean, content, and rested. I would recommend them to anyone looking for safe and reliable care for their dog!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
