“Monica is the best. She’s watched Kairo several times and always goes above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable while away. She is our go to caregiver for Kairo. Highly recommend her!”

“Althea is the best! She was amazing with our dog and treated him like her own! She sent us plenty of pics and updates, which gave us total peace of mind 🥰 We came home to a calm, happy pup and a spotless house! I can’t recommend her enough. We definitely won’t hesitate to book her again!!!”

“Andy was really great with our shy kitties. One of them started to warm up to him towards the end of the week. Both kitties ate well and were happy to see my wife and me when we cane home. We will definitely use Andy again.”

“Erica was absolutely amazing and I would recommend her to anyone! She was so sweet and took great care of both of our dogs while my husband and I were out of town. She sent multiple updates with pictures of them throughout the day. She stayed at our house and the place was spotless when we returned. My dogs were very comfortable around her and got lots of cuddles while we were gone. I will definitely reach back out to Erica again when needed!”

“Clarissa is a dedicated and loving sitter who took great care of our Molly. We were kept updated throughout the 3 week trip as Clarissa is a good communicator. She also went above and beyond when the dishwasher failed Clarissa rolled up her sleeves and fixed it. We will use Clarissa again if the opportunity presents itself. Highly recommend her services”

“I haven’t taken a vacation in 5 years… I was a foster mom for Kittens when I lived in Boston, now living in South Carolina. I have several little fur babies that I don’t trust with many people they are my children. When I got onto Rover‘s website, I read review after review after review. Jill had all five stars and for very good reason. She’s very attentive to my animals, very kind, professional, took pictures every day of the babies, kept me in the loop when she was leaving the house and when she was in for the night. I hired Jill to stay for a week in my home while I was away and she worked her full-time job during the day. My mind and my heart was at ease thanks to Jill. She’s great!!!!”

“Jillian was a great sitter and companion for Potter! She was thorough and kept me in the loop with everything going on at home, which allowed me to know he was well-looked after and I could enjoy my time away. I would love to have her look after Potter again in the future!”

About: I have taken care of and pet sat mat dogs of different sizes from a big German shepherd to a tinny little Chihuahua so there is no dog to big or to small for me to take care of I just graduated high school and am applying to college but I won’t be able to go until next year so until then I’ll be free the whole year unless my family needs me When it comes to taking care of any pets even my own I make sure to keep them on the same schedule they are used to as to make sure they don’t get stressed I also make sure to set alarms for set feeding times of any animal I watch over as well as playing with them and taking them out to use the bath room as needed I also will make sure that if I pet sit over night at someone’s house that the house will be perfectly clean when they come back and that there animal will be happy no matter what.
“Shalisha was fantastic with my picky little dog, Joplin. She sent me pictures of Joplin several times a day. I would highly recommend Shalisha!!!! Also, she showed up promptly to our meet and greet and to the house the day we left. I will be using her for my out of town trips from now on!”

“Kendall was very communicative and reliable during her time watching our 9 year old lab. She sent pictures so we knew Trooper was enjoying his time with her. She was very easy to work with and dependable. Reccommend!”

“We needed someone to take care of our 8 weeks old puppy who we just brought home. Kiera helped us in a very short notice as my wife had to go for a surgery. She took time to meet us before and discussed all the details. On the day she sent pictures time to time and updated about our puppy's status. It was a great help and our puppy liked her. We will definitely take her help in future. We appreciate all help and highly recommend her.”

“Magaly was fantastic!!! First of y’all she is super sweet, friendly and kind. Upon our meet and greet I knew right away I wanted her to watch my fur babies. He communicated multiple times during the day; send me videos and pictures. The pups look happy and relaxed! She stayed at my house and left the home spotless and washed everything she used!! She’s amazing and will be booking her again!”

About: Raising my dog from four moths old to now 7 heads old has taught me the patience, consistency, and understanding that pets need at every stage of life! I'm currently on break from school so my schedule is wide open and very flexible! I'm willing to work early mornings, nights or overnight, I’ll fit in with your schedule! I care for pets in my clients home by following their normal routines, keeping their environment familiar, and giving them plenty of attention and playtime! I make sure they are fed, safe, and comfortable!
“Laura is our to go to pet sitter. The girls love having her around. They get lots of loving and play time. Always get daily updates and pics on how everyone is doing. Come home to happy pups and a clean house. This is like our 4th or 5th time using Laura and will continue to book her.”

“Zoey was very responsive and made sure to keep in touch on how our dogs were doing. The dogs looked so happy when we got home and the house was in great shape. We would definitely book her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a Dogsitter!”

“Andri is an absolute gem and we will 100% be booking with her again! She took incredible care of our dog Circuit and cat Penny — when we came home, both were calm, happy, and clearly well-loved the entire time we were away. What really blew us away was her communication. She was prompt, proactive, and consistently went above and beyond what we expected — always reaching out before we even had a chance to wonder how things were going, and responding instantly whenever we checked in. The regular photos and updates made being away so much easier. On top of all that, she left our home spotless — dishes washed, garbage taken out, everything in order. That level of care and thoughtfulness is rare and it did not go unnoticed. If you're looking for someone who will treat your pets and your home like her own, look no further. Andri is the one. Highest possible recommendation!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Indian Trail
Aby was wonderful, we could tell our potatoes were treated with as much care as we normally do. Momo kept going back to the guest room afterwards looking for her. She followed our instructions and we have no complaints. Our place was left clean, and she even left out a thawed dog food packet for us in the fridge. It was really nice coming back from a trip without feeling overwhelmed about making sure we had the little stuff to take care of. We definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate to book again for our next trip. Thank you much Aby!

Nathaniel couldn’t have been better for my boys while I was on vacation. He was so attentive and communicated incredibly well. I really appreciated all the pictures and videos of them! I HIGHLY recommend him if you are looking for quality care for your pets. You absolutely will not be disappointed!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Indian Trail walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Indian Trail maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Indian Trail choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
