“Christina was able to help me on very short notice and stayed at my home for an entire week. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing my animals and home were in such capable hands. She was excellent about sending photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I returned home, the house was spotless, and all of my animals were happy, healthy, and well cared for. One of the biggest challenges for me is finding someone who is experienced with a variety of animals—not just cats and dogs, but also goats, chickens, guinea fowl, and geese. Christina handled all of them with confidence and care. She is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I am beyond happy with her services and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets and home as if they were her own, Christina is the one! ❤️🐾🐐🐓🪿”

“Karleen was wonderful with Mac & Kookie she took them on many potty breaks sent pictures through out the day to let us know she had feed and gave them water. We truly love the care and attention she gave our pets.”

“Jaelyn did a GREAT job with my two anxious dogs! She kept them for a week and I felt confident in her the entire time! She kept me updated and sent pictures! I came home to a clean home and two happy dogs!! She was amazing and so sweet! She is very responsive and so sweet! She will be my go to person when I need care for my babies! Thank you so much Jaelyn!!”

“Mollie, Mac and me couldn't be happier! India was amazing. She took sweet care of my babies and they were so happy. She additionally took care of my home. I was so nervous but she made this experience a joy and a breeze! Her thank you card was the perfect touch! We can't wait to use her again!”

“Mary was so incredible! Our dog is very shy with people when they first meet and the second Mary walked in, her calming presence comforted Pepper to the point she was sprawled out asking for pets. Mary was so nice, responding so quick, and put up with my wife and I on our wedding weekend. She sent updates, pictures, and was very adaptable. Thank you so much Mary!”

“Grace did an amazing job with our girls and followed all of the directions we left for her! She came at the agreed upon times and made sure they were fed, watered, and pottied! She also sent pictures everyday and gave little updates! She also went above and beyond and brought in our mail and packages in, even though I didn’t ask her too! I completely recommend Grace!”

“Bret was very thorough from the start, asking detailed questions to make sure it was a good fit for both him and our dogs. It’s clear he likes to be well prepared and understand everything upfront. While we were away, our dogs were very well cared for and we received regular updates, which we appreciated. We also came home to a spotless house. Overall, we had a great experience and would absolutely reach out again!”

“I haven’t taken a vacation in 5 years… I was a foster mom for Kittens when I lived in Boston, now living in South Carolina. I have several little fur babies that I don’t trust with many people they are my children. When I got onto Rover‘s website, I read review after review after review. Jill had all five stars and for very good reason. She’s very attentive to my animals, very kind, professional, took pictures every day of the babies, kept me in the loop when she was leaving the house and when she was in for the night. I hired Jill to stay for a week in my home while I was away and she worked her full-time job during the day. My mind and my heart was at ease thanks to Jill. She’s great!!!!”

“I can't recommend Karyna enough! She recently stayed with my dog, Rosie, and the experience was absolutely wonderful. From our first interaction, Karyna was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to Rosie’s needs and personality. Rosie can be a bit shy at first, but Karyna took the time to make her feel comfortable, and it was clear from all the updates that Rosie quickly felt at home with her. Karyna sent plenty of photos and messages, so I always knew Rosie was happy, healthy, and having a great time. She went above and beyond to keep Rosie’s routine consistent and even spent extra time with her playing her favorite games and giving her belly rubs, which Rosie absolutely loved.”

“John and Diane are very caring people, followed all our instructions and made our anxious and shy dog that was hiding at first feel like home. We will for sure ask them again for our next trips!”

“Julia was amazing with Barker! She was really quick to respond to our request, she communicated clearly and was very punctual. She sent updates regularly during her stay in our home which gave me so much peace of mind, she took care of Barker following all our detailed instructions and we came back to a very happy pup. I’ll definitely work with her again!”

“Michael is engaging , warm and super loving of our German Shepherd Charlie. He did a pre-visit a s right away connected and played. Michael is super responsive and provided thoughtful updates and some great pics too. We will definitely work with him again! Fantastic and trustworthy!”

“We were very nervous to leave our ten week old puppy for the night, but Walker did such a great job with him! She took him out to potty frequently, played with him, and sent us lots of pictures and updates. Our minds were at ease knowing that he was in such good hands. We will undoubtedly be using Walker’s services in the future!”

“What a great experience with Madison. From the start, communication was clear and reliable, and it was obvious that Jake was well taken care of while I was away. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter to contact Madison. 👍👍👍👍👍”

About: Growing up surrounded by animals and currently sharing my 2 homes with three dogs and a cat. My house’s are full of different personalities and energy levels, which has taught me how to read an animal’s needs quickly and provide the right kind of care. I know that every animal is different. Whether you have a reactive dog who needs a calm, patient hand or a senior pet who needs a gentle approach and a medication routine, I’m ready to help. From the endless energy of puppies and kittens to the quiet companionship of older pets, I have the experience to make sure your best friend feels safe, happy, and right at home while you’re away. I’m currently a college student at ECU! I’m home for the summer and have a part time job but schedule is extremely flexible! At home, my pets are family, and their well-being is my top priority. I manage a busy household with three dogs and a cat, which has given me hands-on experience with a wide range of temperaments-from high-energy puppies to calm seniors and even reactive personalities. I take a structured yet affectionate approach to their care, focusing on: • Routine & Reliability: Maintaining consistent feeding schedules and a clean environment. • Mental & Physical Health: Ensuring everyone gets the right amount of exercise and play to stay happy. • Individualized Attention: I'm highly observant of their unique body language, making sure I provide space or engagement exactly when they need it.

Grace was amazing! Our chiweenie Emily hurt her leg while we were away and Grace kept us up to date on how she was doing and she did everything she could to make Emily comfortable. The house looked great, the plants were well taken care of and the mail was picked up. I would definitely recommend Grace and will certainly use her again. Emily is doing fine!

Caylee was amazing. She was very sweet and took great care of my pup. Showed up on time and great communication. Always sent pictures. Kept my dog great company while I was away from my trip. I will highly recommend her for any one needing a dog sitter. I will be reaching out to her any time I can’t take my dog with me. She is first on the list now. You can trust her with your pets.

Absolutely fantastic. Needed an emergency last minute sit and Alexis was so accommodating. Alexis took amazing care of my 3 difficult puppers, providing great communication the whole time and even making sure some of my dogs idiosyncrasies were normal (they were but so wonderful to have that level of detail in their care).

We wish we could leave more than 5 stars! Brittany fulfilled a last-minute, long-term house/dog sitting job for us (28 days!) while we were traveling out of the country and she did such an amazing job. Brittany is a caretaker and dog lover at heart and we were so comfortable to have her stay in our home with our two dogs (a brown lab and a border collie). When we got home our pups were happy and healthy (and probably a little disappointed it wasn’t her coming in the door haha), and our home was immaculately clean. Brittany was very communicative while we were away and took care of everything we asked of her. She clearly loved on our dogs while we were gone and we couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care she took of both the dogs and the house. We know exactly who to call the next time we need a sitter!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
