“Thank you very much for taking care of Cleo while we were gone. It takes Cleo a long time to warm up to new people. She is always scared of new people. I had a co-worker who would stay with her and it took multiple stays before Cleo would even sleep at the end of the bed with her. I’m sure eventually she will warm up to you. Thank you for trying to get her to go out on the porch. I appreciate everything you did. Thanks again Karen”

About: I’ve been caring for animals from a small child. Many people have called me the Animal Whisperer because the connection I have with animals and many experiences with animals in my lifetime. Our family of three children has owned many dogs and cats giving me experience with pets of different personalities, needs, and routines. I understand that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and individualized care. Whether it’s going for a walk, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship. I’ll treat your pet with the same love, attention, and respect I’d give my own. I’m a retired IT professional with over 45 years of customer service experience, which gives me the flexibility to work around your pet’s schedule and not the other way around. I’m dependable, punctual, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. In my free time, I love pickleball, walking, hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, music DJ, and volunteering in my community. An active lifestyle makes me a great companion for energetic pets, while my calm, patient nature helps shy or senior pets feel comfortable. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with a caring companion, I’ll provide the attention, affection, and reliable care they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, fresh water, medications (if needed), walks, litter box or yard cleanup, and playtime. I also understand that many pets simply enjoy companionship, so I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance while you’re away. I’ll treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. Throughout each visit or stay, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

“From the moment I met Kellie at our meet and greet, I knew she was the perfect choice for our cat Apollo. She took the time to get to know our fur baby, asked me questions and took notes along the way so she was prepared. During her drop in visits, she had great communication, included through visit notes, and sent us the most adorable photos of our boy. Kellie is super friendly, calm, professional and down to earth. I feel so relieved to have found a solid petsitter I can trust with my furbaby while I'm away. Thank you, Kellie, for being so attentive and taking such great care of Apollo while we were away!”

“We are so appreciative of the care our dog received from Olha! We were able to meet her at our house before booking to show her around and introduce our dog to her. She was reliable in checking in with our dog for each visit, provided multiple videos, and updated us on eating patterns. She recorded the door being locked and even walked the dog around the neighborhood as apart of the drop in visit. We would recommend and hope she is available for future needs!”

“Alexandra is Wonderful! She took good care of my 2 kitties and I enjoyed getting her reports and pictures everyday. Knowing they were looked after in such a loving way put my mind at ease while on vacation. Not only did she feed them, she inspected around the house for any accidents they may have had. I hope she will be available to call upon in the future.”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life . I have a 6 year old golden retriever who is the sweetest boy. I’m down for long walks or cuddle sessions with your pups. I work full time but I’m looking to help with sitting or walking on the weekends that my son is with his dad.Scheduling will have availability typically every other weekend. Meet and Greets are not available for last minute bookings as I work full time during the week. If you require a meet and greet please schedule Atleast a week in advance. Doggy day care is restricted to 8 hours , if you need more then 8 hours please use the boarding option even if you don’t need overnight. To ensure cleanliness of my home and my own dog, all dogs must be fully house/potty trained and be on preventive flea medicine and/or show no active signs of fleas. Dog will be combed for fleas upon arrival, if active fleas are found booking will be canceled. I’m comfortable with dogs being loose. I can crate at night or I’m ok with them sleeping with me. I do not have a yard as I live in a townhouse so dog would have to be comfortable on a leash for trips outside and walking. Dog would also need to be comfortable with stairs.

I had a wonderful experience with Mary! She took great care of my babies. She communicated clearly any time there were questions. One of my cats is aggressive and doesn’t like new people. She was the total opposite with Mary! They quickly became friends!! Because of that, I will definitely be rebooking for my next vacation!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
