“Kayla was wonderful to work with. Great communication and she took excellent care of my Phoenix. Highly recommend her and wiill definitely be using her services in the future.”
“I can't recommend Heather enough! From the moment I met her, I could tell she is passionate about dogs and truly cares about their well-being. Heather has an incredible rapport with my dog Coco and always kept me updated with photos and messages after each walk. Coco was always so happy and tired when they came back from walks and I could see that Coco was in great hands. Heather is reliable, professional, and always went the extra mile to make sure Coco was comfortable and safe. I feel so lucky to have found such a dedicated and kind dog walker, it was a huge relief knowing my dog received the attention she needed. Highly recommend! Beyond 5 stars!!”

“Sydney was so sweet to our dog! I booked her for a drop in visit so that he could be loved on and spend time with a person, walked, and mentally stimulated. Sydney did exactly that. So happy to have found her and can’t wait to call her again!”

“Olha it’s been amazing with my 18.5 yr. old and 11 year old cats. One has chronic kidney disease and the other has IBD and both require medication and special food. I’ve had cat sitters for years as I am a flight attendant and travel often and she is really the first one who is able to administer medication easily. On the very first day, both cats allowed her to pet them, which is not usual for my senior cat so having her take care of my boys has been a stress relief. She truly takes her time to allow my cats to warm up to her and to feel comfortable around her. I highly recommend Olha for your fur babies!”

“This was our second time using Kellie and she was great again! Very communicative and sent great updates and photos during the drop ins. Our baby looked so happy in all of the pics. So happy we found a great sitter to use for our trips!”

“Alex was absolutely amazing!!! She went above and beyond and spent extra time with my kitties, she also left my house very clean and I will be booking her again for all my future vacations knowing my babies will be well cared for. ☺️”

“Carolyn is the best!! She takes great care of my cat, Catarina. Catarina loves her! I can tell from the photos that she sends me. I don’t need to worry about anything with Carolyn. She always does a great job!!”

“Katherine was great. Our Benny is blind and Karherine took amazing care of him, was extremely patient and made him feel very comfortable. We were very happy with her services and plan to use her again in the future.”

“Shakoya was amazing! She came highly recommended and made us feel extremely comfortable leaving our pets in her care. Especially this being the first time they’ve ever met her. She sent lots of pictures and I can tell the dogs and cat love her!”

“Evgeniia did a great job taking care of my cat Butters! He's always nervous when meeting a new sitter but she was patient with him. She also helped out by bringing a package inside for me.”

About: I have been dog-sitting ever since I was 12, but in the past 4 years I have dog (and cat)-sat for friends while they are at work, going on long trips, or just to help them while they're busy ! I really love meeting new furry friends! My schedule is very open! I’m leaving my current full-time job soon and focusing on my small business, and I have been looking for a way to hang out with more dogs! I have one dog! She is a German Shepard so she gets lots of exercise, play time, and attention. She is brushed often and is given all the patience she needs and deserves!

“Alyssa is very professional and took great care of Lola. She also responds very fast, & really sweet! If you’re looking for someone to come by and check on your fur babies, I highly recommend💗”

“Jeff is a true professional! He went above and beyond to make sure my pups were well taken care of during my wedding weekend and honeymoon! Even when one of my dogs decided to choose the morning we were supposed to fly out to the Dominican Republic to have an upset stomach, Jeff told us he had it taken care of and he kept us updated on her and took great care of both of my babies! Can’t recommend him enough!”

“Lydia took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. He is older and she was gentle and spent time with him each visit even though he can no longer take long walks. We will definitely use Lydia again!”

“If you are searching for a Dog Walker/Dog Sitter look no further than Fallon. Her unwavering care and attention set her apart. She always ensures your dog is happy, safe, and engaged. With Fallon, every outing is catered to your needs. She is conscientious, kind,, and reliable. With Fallon, you are not just getting a Dog Walker but a trusted companion for your pet and peace of mind for yourself. She is simply a gem.”

“Aaron & Dennis took great care of our cats while we were away. They were very professional and sent detailed updates while we were away. Definitely recommend them!”

“Kaylee was great! She is very communicative and respectful! My one fur baby was obsessed with her! My other one warms up slowly so she hid most of the time, but Kaylee was patient and let her have her space which I appreciated!!”

After meeting Alyssa I knew our cat named Baby was in good hands. And when we returned she was a happy to see us but looked down the hall to see when Alyssa going to arrive. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Mill. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
