“Sydney was so sweet to our dog! I booked her for a drop in visit so that he could be loved on and spend time with a person, walked, and mentally stimulated. Sydney did exactly that. So happy to have found her and can’t wait to call her again!”

“Carolyn is the best!! She takes great care of my cat, Catarina. Catarina loves her! I can tell from the photos that she sends me. I don’t need to worry about anything with Carolyn. She always does a great job!!”

About: I've taken care of cats and dogs of various breeds since I was a small child. Family, friends and acquaintances have trusted me to pet sit, walk, and play with their fur babies on multiple occasions over the years. I'm currently a stay at home parent with a very flexible schedule. I miss having pets of my own and would love to care for yours! I would be happy to care for your pets! I would take care of your fur babies as if they were my own. I will be respectful of your home keeping it clean and tidy, while making sure your pets have all the exercise, attention, and snuggles they need so you can enjoy your getaway or have peace of mind while you're at work.
About: My children want to pet sit your dogs! I will oversee their care and make sure all their needs are met but my boys will love your dog while you are away! They both love dogs and will treat them like they are their own. They will be well cared for, walked and have plenty of space to run outside. We work full time but will make sure they get plenty of attention and will be played with all night and afternoon. We can also send you photos while you are away and keep in contact so you know that your pets are well taken care of and loved. Our backyard is fenced in and we love long walks. Our dog Toby will be here as well to keep your dog company as well. We have a fenced in yard and our dog has full access to our home, he especially loves laying on the beds. We will treat yours just like ours. We will meet your pups needs just let us know what they are and feel free to ask any questions! We have been using Rover for almost 4 years and have met amazing people and have had a great experience! Our yard is fenced in. We allow pups to free roam unless you prefer them to be crated. “I absolutely love having Shakoya taking care of my cat! She does a great job and my cat loves her! I trust Shakoya with my fur-baby and I know my cat is loved!”

“Alexandra is Wonderful! She took good care of my 2 kitties and I enjoyed getting her reports and pictures everyday. Knowing they were looked after in such a loving way put my mind at ease while on vacation. Not only did she feed them, she inspected around the house for any accidents they may have had. I hope she will be available to call upon in the future.”

About: I have taken care of animals all of my life. That includes dogs and cats. I have 2 cats of my own and 1 dog. I have a senior cat that requires medication so I have some experience in providing medication for cats and dogs. I’m an animal lover and would love to meet some new babies! I am available on Thursdays and Fridays after 12 pm! I am also available on most weekends! Please let me help you care for Your babies!! I only do check ins and/or dog walks. I am not able to stay in homes at this time. I’ll be reliable and trustworthy with your pets!
“Jeff has been amazing! We really enjoy his detailed updates, just shows what good hands our animals are in while we’re away! Will definitely use him again and would highly recommend!”

About: I believe animals are powerful teachers. They resonate more often and most consistently with Unconditional Love and it is truly fun and fulfilling to serve as guardian for their kind! It’s all about energy!! When there is mutual trust, respect and appreciation for each other, beautiful, lasting, mutually beneficial friendships between mankind and beast can be formed. It would be an honor to get to know your pet!! I just quit my day job so the only thing I do now is go to the gym and focus on creating, building and maintaining multiple dreams/goals (streams of income). I typically follow a written process for animal/s with specific medical or emotional needs and triggers. Whatever exercise/feeding schedule is habitual and comfortable for your Familiar is my priority. If the animal/s signals to me that it requires or desires something different, I check with the guardian first.

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats all my life, recently I have fostered several puppies until they were old enough for adoption. I have experience with dogs of all size and am used to walking dogs that pull on the leash :) I have stayed in others homes over night and have had dogs in my home while their family was away! I am currently working part time and make the schedule for my company so I can typically work around any schedule, however scheduling a sitting a week prior is preferred. If I am working it is typically 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm. I have a large fenced in backyard and a 6 year old dog who is very friendly and has never had any issues with pups who have come to stay with us in the past! My neighborhood has plenty of walking trails that are shaded for days that are hot.
“Jada did such a great job communicating and ensuring our pups were well cared for, especially since one is nursing a prior injury. She followed instructions on verbal commands to engage with them and give medication.”

About: I have extensive dog sitting experience and a genuine love for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. I’m comfortable caring for energetic puppies, laid-back seniors, anxious dogs who need extra patience, and everything in between. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away, and I always strive to create a calm, caring environment for them. I’m experienced with walks, feeding routines, playtime, crate routines, administering basic medications if needed, and giving dogs the attention and affection they deserve. I’m attentive to each dog’s unique needs and personality, whether that means lots of exercise and play or quiet companionship and reassurance. My goal is always to make both pets and owners feel completely at ease. I work full-time, but I carefully plan pet care around my schedule to ensure every pet receives attentive, dependable care and plenty of love. I’m very organized with my routine and make time for walks, feeding schedules, playtime, check-ins, and quality attention before and after work, as well as throughout evenings and weekends. Because I genuinely enjoy caring for animals, pet sitting is something I intentionally make space for in my life — not something rushed or treated as an afterthought. I’m committed to making pets feel comfortable, cared for, and secure while keeping owners updated and reassured along the way. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine and create a calm, comfortable environment while their owners are away. I understand that pets feel safest in familiar surroundings, so I focus on keeping their schedule consistent with feeding, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and plenty of affection and attention. I’m respectful, responsible, and attentive while staying in someone’s home, and I treat both pets and the home with great care. I also provide regular updates, photos, and communication so owners can feel reassured knowing their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for.
About: As a lifelong animal lover, I have extensive experience caring for dogs, starting from childhood. My responsibilities have included dog-sitting, walking, and bathing, as well as scheduling veterinary and grooming appointments for multiple dogs. I am also comfortable caring for cats and dogs of all sizes. As my mom provides weekly housekeeping services, I often assist with pet care when animals are present. My responsibilities include feeding, walking, and, with the owner's consent, bathing the pets. My household includes three animals: two canine companions and one feline friend. The dogs are a Great Pyrenees and a Rottweiler. I provide them with exceptional care. Bella, my Rottweiler, and Maverick, my Great Pyrenees, are both indoor pets.
About: I have almost two years of professional experience working in a dog daycare/boarding facility, where we managed groups of up to 20 dogs at a time. Additionally, I managed dogs who boarded with us for any amount of time. This experience also includes dogs with special dietary or medicinal needs. This job also trained me in animal behavior, as well as various dog-handling practices according to different breeds, behaviors, energy levels/temperaments, and environments. Furthermore, I have several clients that I worked closely with while I was at school in Brevard, NC. I would be happy to provide references from any of these experiences if requested! I have the same work schedule every week, which is 10 am-4 pm Tuesday-Saturday every week. I will be available for drop-in visits/dog walking, and pet sitting outside of these hours! I will ensure that your pet is well taken care of each visit, including an overall body wellness check, which I am trained to perform from my professional pet care experience. I am also happy to administer any medication if needed, as I have lots of experience with this. I ensure that the pet is content physically and emotionally, so I do not limit my visits based on time; in other words, I understand that pets (moreso dogs than cats) may feel quite stressed when their owners are away, so I love to spend time with them to build a connection and love on them while I am there.

“Kristyn was sooo kind to my cats! I have a very skittish tortie who almost never comes out of her shell around new people and Kristyn sent me photos of Espresso on her back inviting pets. I will always book Kristyn if she is available!”

“Cheryl was great, she kept me up to date with photos and texts. Rocco my puppy must of loved her, after I came home he would wait by the door and look out the windows at the times Cheryl had been coming for his visits.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Tega Cay
Grace W. came through again while we were out of town. Grace leaves detailed notes and pet observations. We have an elderly 19 year old cat that needs medication and Grace is happy to give her the meds. G. does a good job with our grumpy dog (he really does not like it when we are gone). Our 2 year old loves the pets! We are so glad to have Grace take care of our pets.

We rescued a kitten unexpectedly when we had a pre-planned trip coming up in less than a week, so we needed a last minute babysitter for four days and Mayce was very quick to respond that she was available! She sent photos and videos with each visit and made sure the kitten always had plenty of food, water, litter box cleaned, and plenty of play time. She was very quick to respond to any messages we sent and everything went very smoothly. Highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tega Cay. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
