Christina was able to help me on very short notice and stayed at my home for an entire week. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing my animals and home were in such capable hands. She was excellent about sending photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I returned home, the house was spotless, and all of my animals were happy, healthy, and well cared for. One of the biggest challenges for me is finding someone who is experienced with a variety of animals—not just cats and dogs, but also goats, chickens, guinea fowl, and geese. Christina handled all of them with confidence and care. She is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I am beyond happy with her services and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets and home as if they were her own, Christina is the one! ❤️🐾🐐🐓🪿

Dai Yah, was prompt with her response when we urgently needed a last minute same-day booking request in order to go out to an activity and then dinner with family. Were extremely mindful and careful when looking over sitters profiles and this is the 4th time we have booked a house sitting request via Rover app and it was a pleasure to work with DaI Yah. If you’re interested in booking a sitter that has such a pleasant vibe like super chill and easy to follow care instructions for my little 5lb Shih-Poo then schedule with DaI Yah, we will be booking again many more times for DaI Yah, I already mentioned to her that were interested in a repeat sitter so Blaze has a pleasant experience each time we need house sitting care. Dai Yah, and I spoke with each other college and family and goals so it was a great having the brief conversation to try to build that sitter-pet parent connection.

About: I am a former teacher who left the profession. I am building my pet sitting business one sweet creature at a time. I have had my own dog that had to be put down at 8 for medical reasons and it was the worst day of my life. I have sat small and large dogs, cats, and have helped a friend with chickens. I am by no means a chicken expert though. I take pride in what I do. I also have my clearances from teaching, until they expire. I an currently a full time sitter, so I book sits ahead of time. I'm also available for check ins and walking at times as well. I want your pets to not miss a step just because you are not there. We'll do their routines and I would absolutely treat your pet and home with the respect as if they were my own.

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I got my first dog when I was 7 years old, and from that moment on, I understood the incredible bond between people and their pets. I have loved, cared for, and shared my life with dogs ever since. Over the years, I have rescued and fostered dogs of all ages, each with their own unique personalities, needs, and stories. Whether a playful puppy, a senior needing extra patience, or a dog simply looking for comfort and companionship, I have always treated every dog with the same love, kindness, and attention I would give my own. After losing my beloved dog a couple of years ago, I realized how much joy and purpose dogs bring into my life. While I’m not ready to welcome another dog of my own just yet, I would love the opportunity to spend my time caring for yours — giving them affection, companionship, exercise, and the love they deserve. To me, dogs are not just pets; they are beautiful souls who become part of our families. I would be honored to care for your dog and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while they are with me. Pet care is something I would love to make a meaningful part of my daily life. After a lifetime of loving and caring for dogs, I am excited to dedicate my time to providing the same affection, attention, and companionship to other people’s pets. My schedule is flexible, allowing me to prioritize walks, playtime, feeding routines, medication needs (if applicable), and plenty of one-on-one attention. I truly enjoy being around dogs and want this to be more than just a side activity — I want to spend my days caring for, loving, and appreciating the wonderful personalities that each dog brings. Whether your pup needs exercise, companionship, patience, or simply someone to make them feel safe and loved while you’re away, I am happy to make their care a priority. I prefer caring for pets in their own homes, where they can stay comfortable and relaxed in the environment they know best. I understand that many dogs feel happiest when they can maintain their normal routine, sleep in their own beds, and have their familiar surroundings while their humans are away. I have a comfortable townhome with a small yard and access to a wonderful walking trail, but I truly enjoy the flexibility of traveling to your home and providing care where your pup feels most secure. I am happy to follow your routines, keep up with their favorite activities, and give them the love, attention, and companionship they are used to receiving. My goal is to make your absence as stress-free as possible by giving your dog a safe, happy, and loving experience while you’re away.

Katie was absolutely amazing! She stayed at our house and watched our Golden Retriever for 5 nights while we were on vacation, and he absolutely loved her. It was such a relief knowing he was happy, comfortable in his own home, and being well taken care of while we were away. Katie was trustworthy, caring, and did a great job with him. We came home to a happy dog and everything just as we left it. We would absolutely book Katie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust to stay overnight and take great care of their dog!

About: I’ve taken care of multiple dog breeds since I was a child. Dog breeds from English Mastiffs and Great Danes, to pit bulls and Shitzus. I am a HUGE dog lover and have picked up training tactics over the years as well. I have my own pups Callie (1.5 yo) and Kinsley (6 mo) who are both sweet and active Labrador retrievers. I am so excited to help you take care of your sweet pup :) I am currently job searching and eventually hope to find an opportunity that has a steady and reliable schedule. Right now I have completely open availability! I would love to come to your home for any pet services (walking/sitting/check-ins). I also have two pups that love other dogs and would be great play partners if needed!

About: Husband & wife team that has dogs, cats & chickens on over a half acre. We love animals & can't wait to love on your fur baby! We have 5 cats, including two bonded pairs, and 2 with special needs. We have training experience for dogs as well. We have a special needs dog, and have been proud pet parents of two senior dogs for 5 years. We have experience from puppies to hospice care. We are well adept with different training and dietary needs, and love dog walks. Our large fenced in backyard (half an acre) and two catios give our pets plenty of space to explore. We also have invisble fence for the front yard. We are skilled at grooming and nail trimming and dog teeth brushing, as well as giving medication. We love to spoil our pets; so we have a multitude of pet sofas, dog beds, cat trees, and a comfy outdoor dog house. And we love to cuddle all pets, so bed snuggles are encouraged. However, we have crate trained and support that as well! We also work well with cat backpacks and harness trained cats! Since we are a couple and I am a stay at home mom with a large car, your pets will be doted on and given any adventures you’re comfortable with. We even have doggy seatbelts! I'm a stay at home mom and my husband works from home part time, so we have ample time to take care of your fur babies. We have a fenced-in yard and 3 friendly dogs for your dogs to play with, as well as a screened-in deck (that is really a catio) and an upstairs screened-in catio for any feline guests. We also have an invisible fence for the front yard, to make sure everyone is safes We have ample space and time for supervised fun. In a client’s home, we like to stick to the routine to which an animal is most accustomed to in order to minimize disruptions and stress. That being said, we are more than willing to give ample enrichment via new park walks, frisbee throwing or training exercises. We are also skilled at grooming dogs and cats, including nail clippings, if that is an interest. We love to give cuddles and share our bed and couch, but we have crate trained before and will do whatever is best for your pet. Special dietary issues are no concern, as we already deal with daily in our home.

Ava was amazing. We had a super last minute need for a dogsitter and she stepped up to the plate! Was very responsive and accommodating with our tight schedule, but more importantly our two dogs seemed so happy with her while we were gone! She left our house in perfect order and gave plenty of updates throughout her stay. Definitely will be working with Ava again.

FAQs for House Sitting - Tega Cay

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Tega Cay on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,761 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tega Cay. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tega Cay walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tega Cay maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tega Cay choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tega Cay. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
