“Katie is fantastic and incredibly trustworthy. She took such good care of our furbabies and our home. She guides with so much patience and love. We are so happy we found her.”

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats alike for my whole life. My primary experience is with fostering rescued animals (mainly pit bull and bully breeds who were victims of abuse or neglect). I have lived with three dogs and one cat throughout my life, and am very accustomed to caring for both! I am currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to visit and care for your pets! My nights are flexible, so I will be available for house sitting and overnight pet sitting. I have cared for animals my entire life, so your pets safety is my number one priority! Depending upon the service, I will do whatever I can to ensure your pet’s comfort and care.

“Kalie was fantastic! It was a last minute booking and then we had a significantly delayed flight coming home and Kalie was super responsive and accommodating the whole time.”

About: My name is Conner and I’m a college student at Winthrop University and a lifelong animal lover! caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, whether that meant helping my mom rescue and care for stray cats or looking after family pets over the years. More recently, I’ve been helping take care of my girlfriend’s dog, who has an autoimmune disease and requires extra attention, patience, and consistency with medications and daily routines. I’m a firm believer that every pet deserves personalized care and should be treated with as much love as I would give my own. Whether your pet needs a walk to burn off some energy, a drop-in-visit while you're away, or someone dependable to keep them company in the comfort of their own home, in your guy!! I’m currently a full time college student so I’m free all summer and I would be very flexible around my school schedule in the Fall and Spring! I am very confident in my ability to make friends with every pet! I’m very active and love a nice long walk but I’m also happy to chill on the couch or floor if you have a more laid back pet!
“Justin saved me by watching my sweet foster dog blaze for a few days! He is always giving the pups good walks, and lots of love and play time! I will always ask Justin for his services because he is the best!”

“Grace did an amazing job with our girls and followed all of the directions we left for her! She came at the agreed upon times and made sure they were fed, watered, and pottied! She also sent pictures everyday and gave little updates! She also went above and beyond and brought in our mail and packages in, even though I didn’t ask her too! I completely recommend Grace!”

“I was very happy to find India , she is a true dog lover and took excellent care of our two dogs while we were out of town. We were able to enjoy our trip knowing that she was there giving the best care to our pets. She provided us with daily updates on their activities and the most adorable pictures! India did a fantastic job!! Our pets were happy and healthy when we returned home. India left us a very kind thank you note with photos of our dogs and dog treats , which we greatly appreciated!! Highly recommend her services!!”

“Dai Yah, was prompt with her response when we urgently needed a last minute same-day booking request in order to go out to an activity and then dinner with family. Were extremely mindful and careful when looking over sitters profiles and this is the 4th time we have booked a house sitting request via Rover app and it was a pleasure to work with DaI Yah. If you’re interested in booking a sitter that has such a pleasant vibe like super chill and easy to follow care instructions for my little 5lb Shih-Poo then schedule with DaI Yah, we will be booking again many more times for DaI Yah, I already mentioned to her that were interested in a repeat sitter so Blaze has a pleasant experience each time we need house sitting care. Dai Yah, and I spoke with each other college and family and goals so it was a great having the brief conversation to try to build that sitter-pet parent connection.”

“If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Christi was absolutely amazing, giving the best updates and perfectly managing every detail. She created ease for us in ways that went above and beyond pet care, but we also felt confident that our fur baby was treated like a princess. We are so grateful for her level of care and highly recommend!”

“Michael house sat for our two German Shepherds for one week. The dogs were extremely well cared for (one of our dogs has a rather complex medication schedule), he kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and he left the house very clean and tidy. We would thoroughly recommend Michael and our dogs are looking forward to him house-sitting again!”

“If I could give Richard more than five stars, I would. Leaving our beloved Oliver and Stella for a week while we traveled to Colorado was much easier because of Richard. He was incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful, but what really stood out was his communication. He kept us updated on everything, from eating habits and supplements to potty breaks and sleeping arrangements. We never had to wonder how they were doing because Richard always let us know. He paid attention to details that mattered and genuinely cared about their safety. When the weather was extremely hot, he adjusted their routine accordingly and made sure they stayed comfortable rather than risking walks in unsafe temperatures. It was also clear that Oliver and Stella adored him. They cuddled with him, sat on his lap, and settled in beautifully. Those little updates meant the world to us and showed just how much love and attention they were receiving. Richard is exactly the kind of person you hope to find when trusting someone with your pets: caring, responsible, attentive, and genuinely invested in their happiness. We would absolutely book with him again and honestly hope he becomes our permanent sitter whenever we're away. Oliver and Stella give him two paws way up!”

“Initially, I was going to board my dog, Lupe, while I was out of the country, but that fell through at the last minute. I decided to use Tammy for the house-sitting service, which was the best decision. Lupe was initially anxious, but Tammy made her feel safe and happy by the next day. She provided constant updates and photos throughout the time frame, and I always felt comfortable with Tammy staying at my house. My neighbors saw Tammy walking Lupe around the neighborhood and had positive comments about her. Tammy is a caring person and takes her responsibilities seriously. I am grateful she was there to take care of my furbaby while I was away.”

About: I have had animals all my life, dogs, cats, rodents, and birds. I'm experienced with younger and older animals as well as giving medicines and other. I'm currently a college student and don't work so I have plenty of time to play with pups / kitties and come by for feedings and other. When pet sitting I typically will go by 2 to 3 times a day for feeding and play. I'm always careful around animals especially when they don't know me, I know some can take some time to warm up! Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Springstein
Chelsea did a GREAT job! She house-sat with our dog and cat for a week while we were on vacation. She exercised the dog regularly, and sent us daily pics showing what the pets were up to. She also left our house in great shape. We really appreciated everything about our experience with Chelsea.

We had a great experience with Madison. She took Luna on 2 nice long walks a day and respected our home. The house was very tidy when we returned from our trip. It was very nice to return to our home after a week away and feel like it was just the way we left it. Madison sent photos and gave me updates on Luna. We will use her again in the future. She is a super sweet young lady.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Springstein walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Springstein maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Springstein choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
