“Dai Yah, was prompt with her response when we urgently needed a last minute same-day booking request in order to go out to an activity and then dinner with family. Were extremely mindful and careful when looking over sitters profiles and this is the 4th time we have booked a house sitting request via Rover app and it was a pleasure to work with DaI Yah. If you’re interested in booking a sitter that has such a pleasant vibe like super chill and easy to follow care instructions for my little 5lb Shih-Poo then schedule with DaI Yah, we will be booking again many more times for DaI Yah, I already mentioned to her that were interested in a repeat sitter so Blaze has a pleasant experience each time we need house sitting care. Dai Yah, and I spoke with each other college and family and goals so it was a great having the brief conversation to try to build that sitter-pet parent connection.”

“Christina was able to help me on very short notice and stayed at my home for an entire week. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing my animals and home were in such capable hands. She was excellent about sending photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I returned home, the house was spotless, and all of my animals were happy, healthy, and well cared for. One of the biggest challenges for me is finding someone who is experienced with a variety of animals—not just cats and dogs, but also goats, chickens, guinea fowl, and geese. Christina handled all of them with confidence and care. She is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I am beyond happy with her services and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets and home as if they were her own, Christina is the one! ❤️🐾🐐🐓🪿”

About: I’ve worked with dogs and cats alike for my whole life. My primary experience is with fostering rescued animals (mainly pit bull and bully breeds who were victims of abuse or neglect). I have lived with three dogs and one cat throughout my life, and am very accustomed to caring for both! I am currently working part-time, so I will have plenty of time to visit and care for your pets! My nights are flexible, so I will be available for house sitting and overnight pet sitting. I have cared for animals my entire life, so your pets safety is my number one priority! Depending upon the service, I will do whatever I can to ensure your pet’s comfort and care.

“If I could give Richard more than five stars, I would. Leaving our beloved Oliver and Stella for a week while we traveled to Colorado was much easier because of Richard. He was incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful, but what really stood out was his communication. He kept us updated on everything, from eating habits and supplements to potty breaks and sleeping arrangements. We never had to wonder how they were doing because Richard always let us know. He paid attention to details that mattered and genuinely cared about their safety. When the weather was extremely hot, he adjusted their routine accordingly and made sure they stayed comfortable rather than risking walks in unsafe temperatures. It was also clear that Oliver and Stella adored him. They cuddled with him, sat on his lap, and settled in beautifully. Those little updates meant the world to us and showed just how much love and attention they were receiving. Richard is exactly the kind of person you hope to find when trusting someone with your pets: caring, responsible, attentive, and genuinely invested in their happiness. We would absolutely book with him again and honestly hope he becomes our permanent sitter whenever we're away. Oliver and Stella give him two paws way up!”

“Sarah was great with my dog and two cats. She was extremely communicative and sent pictures throughout the weekend. One of my older cats threw up (which he does sometimes), and she was great about cleaning it up. I'll definitely ask her back!”

“Kellie is great!! She is outstanding with my girl and her sitting truly shows how my she cares. Kellie is very communicative and tentative to my pet and my home. I will always hope to book Kellie for all of my pets needs!”

“Madison was awesome helping my wife and I out with a last minute booking! She was great with both the dogs and cats and spent far more time with them than was expected! She took great care of our home and sent lots of cute pictures while we were out of town. We wouldn’t hesitate to book her again and hope to do so in the future!”

“Jeralynn was fantastic with our pups! She made sure our girls were well taken care of while we were on vacation. She gave them all their medicine/supplements, kept them company, and made sure they had plenty of outside time and walks. She even brought in packages and kept my plants watered. I'd definitely recommend her for watching your fur babies 😊”

“Thanks to Bret for being a fantastic sitter! He is very thorough, asks great questions & tries to get a good understanding of your pets needs in advance. He communicated daily with us. Sent lots of pictures too! We felt like he really cared for & payed attention to our dogs! He was very respectful of our home! We will definitely call him next time we need a sitter! 😁👏”

About: My name is Conner and I’m a college student at Winthrop University and a lifelong animal lover! caring for animals has always been a big part of my life, whether that meant helping my mom rescue and care for stray cats or looking after family pets over the years. More recently, I’ve been helping take care of my girlfriend’s dog, who has an autoimmune disease and requires extra attention, patience, and consistency with medications and daily routines. I’m a firm believer that every pet deserves personalized care and should be treated with as much love as I would give my own. Whether your pet needs a walk to burn off some energy, a drop-in-visit while you're away, or someone dependable to keep them company in the comfort of their own home, in your guy!! I’m currently a full time college student so I’m free all summer and I would be very flexible around my school schedule in the Fall and Spring! I am very confident in my ability to make friends with every pet! I’m very active and love a nice long walk but I’m also happy to chill on the couch or floor if you have a more laid back pet!
“Michael house sat for our two German Shepherds for one week. The dogs were extremely well cared for (one of our dogs has a rather complex medication schedule), he kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and he left the house very clean and tidy. We would thoroughly recommend Michael and our dogs are looking forward to him house-sitting again!”

“India is the best dog sitter we have ever had! She takes excellent care of our pups and our home. If I can’t book India I don’t want to go. She takes fantastic care of our dogs and our home.”

“Justin was great as always! Took care of our fur babies and even watered my garden and took the trash cart to the street for us while we were away! Definitely recommend!”

“Caylee was amazing. She was very sweet and took great care of my pup. Showed up on time and great communication. Always sent pictures. Kept my dog great company while I was away from my trip. I will highly recommend her for any one needing a dog sitter. I will be reaching out to her any time I can’t take my dog with me. She is first on the list now. You can trust her with your pets.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Riverview
Alex was absolutely amazing with our Maltipoo, Charlie! We were away in the South of France for 12 days, and she gave us complete peace of mind. She kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was obvious Charlie was happy, comfortable, and so well cared for. When we got home, Charlie was his happy, playful self, and our house was spotless. It honestly felt like walking into our own home after a relaxing vacation instead of coming home to a mess. That level of care and thoughtfulness means so much. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we will absolutely book with Alex again!

Mykel went above and beyond taking care of our pets and our home during our recent trip. Mykel was so gracious and considerate in accommodating things that popped up unexpectedly and was great at communicating. Our pets seemed happy and relaxed when we returned, like we’d never left. We’d definitely use Mykel’s services again in the future!
Absolutely fantastic. Needed an emergency last minute sit and Alexis was so accommodating. Alexis took amazing care of my 3 difficult puppers, providing great communication the whole time and even making sure some of my dogs idiosyncrasies were normal (they were but so wonderful to have that level of detail in their care).

We wish we could leave more than 5 stars! Brittany fulfilled a last-minute, long-term house/dog sitting job for us (28 days!) while we were traveling out of the country and she did such an amazing job. Brittany is a caretaker and dog lover at heart and we were so comfortable to have her stay in our home with our two dogs (a brown lab and a border collie). When we got home our pups were happy and healthy (and probably a little disappointed it wasn’t her coming in the door haha), and our home was immaculately clean. Brittany was very communicative while we were away and took care of everything we asked of her. She clearly loved on our dogs while we were gone and we couldn’t be more pleased with the level of care she took of both the dogs and the house. We know exactly who to call the next time we need a sitter!

Alex was amazing!! She was very professional and attentive to instructions, she made two visits to meet and greet and go over things for her stay to house and dog sit. She was so sweet and treated Harley like her own! She sent pics and updates. We Came home to a happy, calm Harley and very clean house. I would use Alex again in a heart beat, I felt very comfortable leaving for vacation and knowing she was caring for our fur baby and home!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Riverview on Rover is $39.64 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 2,765 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Riverview. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Riverview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Riverview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Riverview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Riverview. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
