“Kayla was excellent! Excellent communication, attentive with my kitties, and they warmed right up to her! I really appreciate the time, attention, and care she provided to my girls while I was away. Highly recommend!”

About: I grew up with dogs my entire life . I have a 6 year old golden retriever who is the sweetest boy. I’m down for long walks or cuddle sessions with your pups. I work full time but I’m looking to help with sitting or walking on the weekends that my son is with his dad.Scheduling will have availability typically every other weekend. Meet and Greets are not available for last minute bookings as I work full time during the week. If you require a meet and greet please schedule Atleast a week in advance. Doggy day care is restricted to 8 hours , if you need more then 8 hours please use the boarding option even if you don’t need overnight. To ensure cleanliness of my home and my own dog, all dogs must be fully house/potty trained and be on preventive flea medicine and/or show no active signs of fleas. Dog will be combed for fleas upon arrival, if active fleas are found booking will be canceled. I’m comfortable with dogs being loose. I can crate at night or I’m ok with them sleeping with me. I do not have a yard as I live in a townhouse so dog would have to be comfortable on a leash for trips outside and walking. Dog would also need to be comfortable with stairs.
“First time with Jeff and it was amazing! He arrived at our home as scheduled, sent great details of his visit, and took very good care of our dog. I did not worry the entire time we were away! Highly recommend Jeff.”

“Casey was awesome with our dogs! She stopped by our house while we were gone for a short trip to let out our 2 pups. Casey even got one of our dogs that is not very trusting of new people to be comfortable around her. We highly recommend Casey for your next pet sitting!”

About: I grew up in a family that always had pets and working dogs mostly mixed breeds and some purebreds. I have had two dogs (one at a time) in the last thirty years. My first dog was a registered black Labrador. My wife gave her to me on our second Christmas together. Her name was Genoa - after the Italian city I studied in as a grad student. She passed away at nineteen years old. I now have a Maltese - Shih Tzu. He loves to play fetch even though he is eleven years old. I do DoorDash part-time, so I have a flexible schedule. I can work around your dog's routine to make sure they're fed and exercised regularly. In my experience, animals feel more comfortable and secure in their usual environment, so the only new element is my presence and how I interact with them. I have cared for dogs that need regular medications and exercise, and I maintain their schedule and activities as closely as possible. This is especially important to me when dealing with dogs who are crated or confined. I want to build a strong relationship with your pet based on trust and consistency.
“Brittany was great with cha cha! It was our first time using her and she was so patient as cha cha got used to her. We really appreciated the constant communication and the videos and pictures along the way. Can’t wait to use Brittany again!”

About: I grew up with dogs and have cared for them my entire life. I’ve fostered dogs, cared for multiple dogs at once (including having three at the same time), and have years of experience pet sitting for family and friends. I also had a senior dog who I lovingly cared for until she passed at age 18, which gave me experience with older dogs, patience, and attentive care. I’m comfortable with different personalities, routines, and needs, and I always treat pets as if they’re my own. I work Monday-Friday from 7am-2pm, so I’m available for pet care in the afternoons, evenings, and nights during the week. I’m also available on weekends and happy to provide care, walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays depending on your pet’s needs. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I carefully follow feeding schedules, walking routines, and any special instructions provided. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection, while also respecting their comfort level and personality. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so owners feel confident their pets are well cared for.

Your pup will never be unattended or off the leash when outdoors. I can crate if required. I have a friendly golden retriever who loves to play!

About: I’ve pet sat for my neighbors and family members for a few years. I used to pet sit for my aunt a lot and I loved it but she moved away, so I can’t pet sit for her anymore. I had so much fun, and I love spending time and caring for every animal. I look forward to meeting your amazing pets, and watching over them for you! I’m currently unemployed and have plenty of free time to check in and care for your pets. Im free the whole 7 days of the week :) I have 5 furry babies myself, 2 big dog fenced in the backyard and 3 kitties in the house, I also have 3 hermit crabs that I take care of. I have plenty of experience with all kinds of pets even a pig :)
“Alyssa was great to work with. I had something last minute pop up and needed someone to drop in for my cat and she answered right away. It's always a little nerve-racking having someone watch your pet, but he couldn't have been in better hands. Very responsive throughout and was able to administer his medicine as well. I would 100% book with Alyssa again in the future!”

“My cat absolutely loves Chase; she loves on him every time he takes care of her. Chase gives me peace of mind knowing that he takes care of my kitty while I am away and I don’t have to worry about anything.”

About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family always had dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I quickly became the person friends and family could count on whenever their pets needed some extra love and care. I now have 15+ years of pet-sitting experience and have cared for a wide variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rodents, fish, reptiles, and more. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all ages and personalities, including senior and special-needs pets. I also have experience handling medications and providing the extra patience and attention that some pets need. In 2020, I adopted two kittens from the York County Humane Society, officially turning me into a cat lady! I absolutely love getting to know each pet’s unique personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their people are away. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing your pets are in caring and dependable hands. When I’m not taking care of animals, I’m usually trying new foods, spending time with my family, traveling, painting, or working on a pet portrait. I genuinely love animals and feel incredibly lucky to spend my time caring for them! Pet care is naturally part of my daily routine. I’m used to maintaining consistent feeding schedules, keeping track of portions and medications when needed, and making sure pets get plenty of attention and enrichment throughout the day. I’m intentional about giving each pet individual attention based on their personality and needs whether that means a walk, playtime, cuddles, or simply keeping them company. I understand how important consistency is for pets, especially when their people are away, and I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, I treat their safety and comfort as my top priority. I’m attentive to doors, gates, feeding instructions, medications, and any special routines to help keep pets safe and comfortable while you’re away. In your home, I’m respectful of your space and will leave things just as I found them. I’m also happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are happy, cared for, and in good hands.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Riverview
Melissa has been wonderful with our puppy! We’ve booked her twice now for midday drop ins, and she’s been so great about giving him a much needed potty break and some playtime while we’re working. She’s super communicative, sends the cutest photos, and we feel like Scout is in great hands with her. We’ll definitely be using Melissa again!

I had a wonderful experience with Mary! She took great care of my babies. She communicated clearly any time there were questions. One of my cats is aggressive and doesn’t like new people. She was the total opposite with Mary! They quickly became friends!! Because of that, I will definitely be rebooking for my next vacation!

Michael was amazing and flexible. He bounded with our sweet boy Jackson!! We were updated and we had full confidence that Michael had everything under control. Michael is great with big dogs and has a great touch with them. We definitely will be using Michael again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
