“Kayla was wonderful to work with. Great communication and she took excellent care of my Phoenix. Highly recommend her and wiill definitely be using her services in the future.”
“Kaylee was great! She is very communicative and respectful! My one fur baby was obsessed with her! My other one warms up slowly so she hid most of the time, but Kaylee was patient and let her have her space which I appreciated!!”

About: I have been dog-sitting ever since I was 12, but in the past 4 years I have dog (and cat)-sat for friends while they are at work, going on long trips, or just to help them while they're busy ! I really love meeting new furry friends! My schedule is very open! I’m leaving my current full-time job soon and focusing on my small business, and I have been looking for a way to hang out with more dogs! I have one dog! She is a German Shepard so she gets lots of exercise, play time, and attention. She is brushed often and is given all the patience she needs and deserves!

“Kalie was absolutely amazing. She was very communicative and flexible throughout the time I was away. I really appreciated all of the updates and photos. Can’t wait to work with her again in the future ❤️”

“We had Victoria do drop in visits for our 9 year old cat when we were out of the country. He loves to be around people, so leaving him alone for a week worries me. Having Victoria stop in made it "worry-free" - the pictures and in depth updates were great! Definitely would recommend her for any pet sitting needs!”

“She has been incredible with my special needs and senior cats! I have had sitters over the years as I travel for due to being applied attendant, and I can’t stress enough how much my cats love her. She takes her time to allow my cats to warm up to her. She is also able to administer medication to both of my cats. One has kidney disease and one has IBD… so both are on different medications as well as different foods. She has done amazing with both and provides a lot of updates with lots of videos and photos! Highly recommend’”

“Chase is the absolute best❣️❣️ He treated my pup like she was his own and she loves him( I think more than she loves me)🙂🙃. Every day I looked forward to my picture that he sent and her report card. Chase was very thorough and did a great job letting me know about Reese. I highly recommend Chase for your next pet sitter. He is awesome! ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰”

About: Hi, I’m Katie. I love all animals! I have years of experience when it comes to taking care of pets and giving them the love they deserve. I currently have 2 dogs and 1 parakeet. I’ve been around dogs my whole life. My Lhasa Apso, Hugo, has lived with me since 2012 so I practically grew up with him. I take care of all of my pets at home. I make sure they are properly fed and that there is always fresh water available. Medicine is given in the evening. I will make sure your pets are fed and have water available, take them outside for potty breaks (or clean the litter box), and I love to play and spend time with them. If you are looking for a dog walker, I will take them for a walk in the neighborhood.
“Alexandra is wonderful! She goes above and beyond looking after Tabitha and Louis. She brings extra treats and spoiles them with attention. I really appreciate that she'll go back later in the day if one of my kitties isn't there to greet her. I recommend Alexandra highly!”

About: I will make sure your dog gets the exercise they need as well as my love and affection! I will pay attention to weather concerns beforehand that may affect our walk. Your dog's safety is my number 1 concern. For drop-ins, I am trustworthy of entering your home to care for your animal. Let me know if they have any allergies or need oral medication and I can take care of that! About me- my mini poodle's name is Carmen. She is my angel- a cuddle buddy indoors and high energy outdoors! With Carmen, I have learned how a dog can read your body language and act accordingly. I always maintain a calm, loving composure around dogs so they feel safe and comfortable. I can’t wait to meet your pup and offer them a home away from home!
“Carolyn is the best!! She takes great care of my cat, Catarina. Catarina loves her! I can tell from the photos that she sends me. I don’t need to worry about anything with Carolyn. She always does a great job!!”

“Grace was a very responsible kind sitter. She was great at communicating and paid attention to detail. Our dog is very skiddish and she made friends with her. I will book Grace again!”

“Madison was great! She was communicative and followed the care instructions perfectly. Having her check in on my boys and seeing her pictures made me feel so much better about leaving my cats for an extended period of time!”

About: I own a 2 year old labradoodle, my family has had multiple types of dogs in the past (and some cats). I worked at a kennel for a couple years and have experience giving medications and caring for elderly dogs. I’m currently working part-time and I am a full-time student. My schedule is pretty open right now but I will create a better schedule when school starts back up. When walking my dog, I sometimes will take him to my dog park in my neighborhood or we will go on a nice .5 mile to 1 mile walk. When walking dogs, I make sure to give them enough time to go to the bathroom. When I’m the home, I always try to play with my dog or other dogs for at least 30 min to get some of the energy out.
“Jessica was great overall!! She communicated well before booking with her up until her last day. She’s very professional and personable. Our furbaby loved her dearly! I would definitely book with her again! Thanks Jessica!!”

About: I’ve pet sat for my neighbors and family members for a few years. I used to pet sit for my aunt a lot and I loved it but she moved away, so I can’t pet sit for her anymore. I had so much fun, and I love spending time and caring for every animal. I look forward to meeting your amazing pets, and watching over them for you! I’m currently unemployed and have plenty of free time to check in and care for your pets. Im free the whole 7 days of the week :) I have 5 furry babies myself, 2 big dog fenced in the backyard and 3 kitties in the house, I also have 3 hermit crabs that I take care of. I have plenty of experience with all kinds of pets even a pig :)

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Red River
Kalie was the best sitter I’ve had. She spent at hour or more interacting with my animals at every visit, won over both indoor cats! She let my hens out daily, showed up at our agreed times and sent plenty of pictures for my piece of mind. Everyone was happy when I came home. I won’t use anyone else!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Red River. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
