“Althea is the best! She was amazing with our dog and treated him like her own! She sent us plenty of pics and updates, which gave us total peace of mind 🥰 We came home to a calm, happy pup and a spotless house! I can’t recommend her enough. We definitely won’t hesitate to book her again!!!”

“I haven’t taken a vacation in 5 years… I was a foster mom for Kittens when I lived in Boston, now living in South Carolina. I have several little fur babies that I don’t trust with many people they are my children. When I got onto Rover‘s website, I read review after review after review. Jill had all five stars and for very good reason. She’s very attentive to my animals, very kind, professional, took pictures every day of the babies, kept me in the loop when she was leaving the house and when she was in for the night. I hired Jill to stay for a week in my home while I was away and she worked her full-time job during the day. My mind and my heart was at ease thanks to Jill. She’s great!!!!”

“Karen & Bob did a wonderful job petsitting for our Doodle boy Duke! They were communicative, sent lots of photos, and played outside with him several times. We came back to a clean house and a happy and relaxed dog! Our first time using Rover was excellent. Jane & Matt”

“Clarissa was a huge help for my family the weekend of my wedding. She not only took care of the dogs but she also brought our Rusty to our wedding photos. We’re so grateful Rusty could be a part of our day and Clarissa is the one that made it happen. Thank you Clarissa!”

“We were very nervous to leave our ten week old puppy for the night, but Walker did such a great job with him! She took him out to potty frequently, played with him, and sent us lots of pictures and updates. Our minds were at ease knowing that he was in such good hands. We will undoubtedly be using Walker’s services in the future!”

“Sophia was absolutely wonderful!!! She stayed overnight with our dogs and took such great care of them while we were away. She was kind, reliable, and such a great communicator from start to finish!!! We loved getting all of the photos and updates, and it gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were happy and well cared for. She took them out several times a day for walks, gave them lots of attention, and made sure they were comfortable and loved!!! We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, and we are so grateful for the care Sophia gave them. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her!!!”

“Magaly was fantastic!!! First of y’all she is super sweet, friendly and kind. Upon our meet and greet I knew right away I wanted her to watch my fur babies. He communicated multiple times during the day; send me videos and pictures. The pups look happy and relaxed! She stayed at my house and left the home spotless and washed everything she used!! She’s amazing and will be booking her again!”

“Lauren is beyond exceptional! She is very thorough with updates throughout the day and includes plenty of pics which we really appreciated. Not only did she take great care of our pups but also took pride in caring for our home as her own. Lauren is everything we have been looking for in a sitter; caring, loyal and respectful. We’ve already booked her for our next trip!”

“What a great experience with Madison. From the start, communication was clear and reliable, and it was obvious that Jake was well taken care of while I was away. I received updates and photos that gave me peace of mind. It’s not always easy leaving your dog with someone else, but this experience made it stress free!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter to contact Madison. 👍👍👍👍👍”

“First time using Rover and Karyna was wonderful. She kept me updated on how the dogs were doing. She sent photos and the communication was great. She did an excellent job looking after both the dogs and the house. I will definitely use her again.”

About: Growing up, there was always an animal in my house. ❤️ I’ve experience with all sorts from dogs and cats to lizards and fish. I currently own a sweet 3-year old Boykin Spaniel who is the light of my life. I’ve pet sit for many people, whether it be daily visits or staying the night, and I’ve walked (so far) up to five dogs at once with no issue! I’m in shape and ready to walk and play with the most energetic of dogs, and I’m also down to chill out and relax with the shyest of kitties. 😁 I now have a 9-5 job, which has made drop-ins unlikely, but I don’t typically more than 2-3 work days in a week. It’s very likely for me to have Thursday-Sunday completely off! I’m also in the position at work that should half days be necessary so your pet isn’t left alone too long, it may be negotiated with my employer. ❤️ When pet sitting (ie traveling to your house), I have often been asked to stay the night. I have no issue with this, nor if the pet likes sharing the bed. ❤️ I follow whatever their routine is to a T, and am willing to adjust my day to accommodate their schedule if need be. I am open to taking dogs on walks, administering medicine (as I’ve done for a couple cats with great success!) and even taking pets to the groomers!
“Anna and Terrell house sat our 2 dogs and 1 cat for us for a week. They provided lots of updates and took great care of our pets. Would definitely recommend!”

“John is one the most attentive and caring pet sitters we have experienced in our lifetime of having pets. He provided daily updates, pictures, played with them, and sincerely cared for them as his own. We highly recommend John.”

About: Growing up surrounded by animals and currently sharing my 2 homes with three dogs and a cat. My house’s are full of different personalities and energy levels, which has taught me how to read an animal’s needs quickly and provide the right kind of care. I know that every animal is different. Whether you have a reactive dog who needs a calm, patient hand or a senior pet who needs a gentle approach and a medication routine, I’m ready to help. From the endless energy of puppies and kittens to the quiet companionship of older pets, I have the experience to make sure your best friend feels safe, happy, and right at home while you’re away. I’m currently a college student at ECU! I’m home for the summer and have a part time job but schedule is extremely flexible! At home, my pets are family, and their well-being is my top priority. I manage a busy household with three dogs and a cat, which has given me hands-on experience with a wide range of temperaments-from high-energy puppies to calm seniors and even reactive personalities. I take a structured yet affectionate approach to their care, focusing on: • Routine & Reliability: Maintaining consistent feeding schedules and a clean environment. • Mental & Physical Health: Ensuring everyone gets the right amount of exercise and play to stay happy. • Individualized Attention: I'm highly observant of their unique body language, making sure I provide space or engagement exactly when they need it.
“Zoey was such a great dog sitter!! Very thankful she cared for my girls while I was away. Pictures and updates were given throughout the booking and I’m always thankful for that. She even tidied up before she left. I would definitely book again.”

About: From growing up alongside my cats for 16 years to caring for my dog for the past 6, I understand how deeply pets rely on us and connect us to one another. Your pets will get the same steady love and comfort mine have always known. As a pet owner, pet care is naturally a part of my daily routine. I am also a recent college graduate with a flexible work schedule. Whether it’s drop‑ins or longer stays, I easily adjust my schedule to give each pet the attention and consistency they’re used to. Whether I’m in my home or a client’s, I focus on making pets feel safe, relaxed, and at home. With 16 years of cat care and 6 years with my dog, I’m used to following routines, reading body language, and giving consistent attention. I stick to each pet’s normal schedule: feeding, litter care, walks, playtime, and any special instructions so they feel comfortable and cared for wherever they are.
“Miles is wonderful. I felt very comfortable leaving our puppy and two cats in his care after seeing how they responded to him during our meet-and-greet. He is thoughtful and communicative—he checked in multiple times a day with updates and photos, so we were able to relax knowing everyone was okay. I would absolutely ask him to sit for us again.”

What can I say about Walker! I only have good things to say about her. We had her for housesitting our two dogs, one of which has a separation anxiety. She managed them nicely. Very responsible and took care of my house. I did not find anything missing.. definitely trust her and recommend her. She followed all the instructions. I will definitely hire her for future needs..

Amazing! Our animals were completely comfortable the whole week Alisa was here with them while we were away. She sent lots of updates with pictures and videos and truly treated them with love! We will absolutely book her again when we need a house and pet sitter!

Luliia was so sweet with my girls! I came home to two happy pups and a clean, tidy house just like I left it. She followed all my instructions and sent me daily updates and cute pics of the girls, which I loved. I really appreciated her help—definitely recommend her!

Kanishka was very kind and loving to my dog during our house sitting service. She was responsive and professional. She sent lots of pictures, followed directions with his care, and spent extra time giving him love and attention while we were away. I highly recommend Kanishka.

Kennedy was so sweet with our 8-month-old dog, Lilly! She gave her lots of love, played with her, and took her for long walks. She was responsive and kept us updated with pictures. She left the house clean and brought in mail and packages. Kennedy is thoughtful, kind and a pleasure to work with! We’d definitely have her back to stay with Lilly again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Weddington
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Weddington on Rover is $61.05 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,942 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Weddington. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Weddington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Weddington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Weddington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Weddington. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
