“Alyssa and Spencer took great care of Sadie!! They were able to take her on short notice which was a huge help and gave her lots of love. Thank you Alyssa and Spencer!!”

“Our two bulldogs had a wonderful stay with Matthew and his family. We received excellent communication, daily photos and knew are pups were being treated with attentive care including lots of walks and play time. We would definitely use Matthew again for pet-sitting services. Thank you so much!”

“We feel so fortunate to have found Sarah before our long trip. The pictures and videos of our dog running and playing with other pups in her spacious, fenced yard gave us peace of mind while we were away. We would definitely recommend her and use her again.”

About: I have two male dachshunds. I have had the. since they were puppies. I had three, but my oldest passed away on Dec. 16, 2025. He was13 years old and I have had him since I was 21 years old. My second oldest is 11 years old and the youngest is 4 years old. The dogs are allowed on furniture. We have ramps to help them onto the couch and they have a nice ramp up to a comfy window bed area. Our dogs love sleeping there and looking out the window. I am used to dogs with health issues. My oldest dog, Odie, had a very sensitive stomach and had to have a strict diet or he got pancreatitis. Our youngest has had back surgery and was paralyzed and slowly regained mobility. Taking care of dogs with health issues is not a problem for me. When booking with me. Let me know about your pets personality. Be specific with eating schedule. I require the dogs to be crate trained if I have to step out of the house. We have a big backyard that is perfect for exploring and running around. When the dogs get hot, we have a small pool that my dog Oscar loves to jump in to cool off. I am a teacher and I have my summers off. During the school year I am gone during the day. My dogs are fenced off to the hallway and the front window. They have 3 dog beds and a ramp leading up to the window where they also sleep on a platform. The dogs are cozy waiting for us. Make sure to let me know how your dog should be handled when I am away. I will crate your dogs next to mine while I'm away from the house. To ensure their safety. We have a big backyard and your dog will get lots of loves at my house. We are big dog lovers. I live with my husband and two children. I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old who are gentle with dogs. My 5 year old actually has her own dog. The youngest dachshund, Jack, is hers. They have a great bond and he always sleeps in her bed at night.
“Our sweet doggies had a great time staying with Christy and her family! We have a German Shepherd mix and a Great Pyrenees that were given tons of love and attention during their whole stay. We really loved the frequent updates and hearing about how much her kids enjoyed spending time with our puppers. We’re looking forward to booking again! :)”

“Barbara was so sweet, friendly and nice! I knew she would treat my Bella with the same love and care I give her. She sent me daily texts and pictures of how my Bella was doing. Buddy, her dog was a sweetheart, so friendly and playful! I'll definitely be back when I need a sitter again:) Thanks again Barbara!”

“Summer was so easy to work with, excellent communication and daily photos and updates were great! Bella was right at home as soon as we arrived and enjoyed the large fenced in yard. I appreciate Summer treating her like her own!”

“Thank you so much Clayton and his family. This is Bear's first boarding as we were visiting family during the Christmas time. We checked out a few dog boarding places. We were very disappointed. We were so lucky that we found Clayton and his family. He was very easy to communicate, prompt to respond, had a meet & greet with us as soon as we contacted him. Bear even had a play date with his dogs prior to the stay as I was very nervous it would work out. Bear had a blast over Clayton's house. We will definitely send Bear there again. Thank you again!!!”

“Monie is an excellent dog sitter. My baby has a separation anxiety. But on the very first day, Monie was able to calm him down, and sat him on her lap. Monie’s house is very nice, with a large, flat, fenced backyard that doggies can enjoy roaming in. I highly recommend Monie for all dogs. I would definitely consider her next time I need help with dog sitting.”

“Our senior dog, Watson, has stayed with Molly and her family twice now and we LOVE working with her! She's a fantastic and responsive communicator who sends lots of pictures. Pick-up and drop-off have always been a breeze (even when we had a flight delay that set us a bit off schedule!). They do a great job giving Watson his medicine (daily pills and eye ointment). Most importantly, it is clear to us that Watson loves visiting Molly & her family! He always comes home to us happy and healthy, if a little tired from all the excitement. :-)”

“Shalyn was so nice to work with! She and her family took wonderful care of Kira and sent updates so we’d know how she was doing. I would highly recommend Shalyn, and will definitely have her at the top of our list for future boarding. Kira seemed very happy with her stay and even gave Shalyn’s son a goodbye kiss and snuggle. Thank you to Shalyn and family!”

“We were so happy with boarding our Tinkerbell with Miriely. We received daily updates and communication was excellent. We plan on her staying there with them again in the near future. Your pup will enjoy staying with them!”

“Carol did an outstanding job taking care of our pup Emma. Her and Louis' home is a safe haven, and a fun place for her to be when we are out of town. She even doctored up one of Emma's paws that we mentioned was irritated when we dropped her off. Carol goes out her way to make Emma feel special.”

“Bozena and her family provided exceptional service. My dogs thoroughly enjoyed their stay. She cared for my three dogs for eleven days, exceeding my expectations in every way. I received daily updates with numerous photos from Bozena. The dogs went on walks, received special treats, and were treated with the utmost care and affection, just like her own pets. I highly recommend Bozena!”

“Liliana and her family were great with my Max! Liliana is very caring and loves animals of all kinds! We have boomed her for a second time and we are sure Max will be in good hands!”

“Cheryl was a fantastic sitter. Kept in contact daily with photos in the morning and at night. She made me feel like remy was safe and well taken care of. Overall great rover and will book again with Cheryl!”

“Just is amazing 🙌🏼🩷 Not only keeping and wonderful fun and peaceful place for the pups, but her personal demeanor is absolutely lovely as well! She understands dogs greatly and you can be sure your best friends are safe with her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Monroe
I cannot recommend Sonja highly enough — and a special shoutout to Nathan, who even helped out when he wasn’t on the clock! From the moment we met, I felt completely at ease leaving my dog in their care. They are incredibly attentive, responsible, and clearly have a deep love and understanding of animals. Spartacus absolutely adored them — full-on tail wags, happy zoomies, and all! I received regular updates, complete with photos and messages, which gave me total peace of mind. Whether it was playtime, walks, feeding, or just cuddles, I knew my dog was being treated like family. What truly sets Sonja and Nathan apart is the genuine care they put into every detail — from carefully following dietary instructions to keeping Spartacus's routine consistent. Coming home to a happy, healthy, and relaxed dog said it all. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and professional, look no further. Sonja is a true gem, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found them!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
