“We had a wonderful experience! She took excellent care of our two dogs and kept us updated throughout their stay with regular messages and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind. We felt completely comfortable knowing our pets were in such caring and capable hands. It was clear they were well loved and cared for. We would absolutely trust her with our dogs again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Our sweet doggies had a great time staying with Christy and her family! We have a German Shepherd mix and a Great Pyrenees that were given tons of love and attention during their whole stay. We really loved the frequent updates and hearing about how much her kids enjoyed spending time with our puppers. We’re looking forward to booking again! :)”

“You will not find a better fur babysitter. Olha was in constant communication with us. Providing pictures and videos each day. Will definitely use her again. Highly, highly recommended!”

“I was so pls with the care of my frenchie while I was away. I received pics/videos daily without request and that was amazing. It was also the brief conversations about his behavior or experiences. Just made my trip so relaxing because I wasn’t worried about him. Seeing him interact as he would at home assured me he was being cared for. I will definitely utilize Anna and her family again when I need to be away.”

“We had such a positive experience with Monie! Our dog stayed with her, and it was clear that he felt safe and comfortable in her care. She sent us daily updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away, and she was always very responsive whenever we reached out. We really appreciated the care and attention she gave our dog and would definitely feel comfortable having him stay with her again!”

“McKayla and her lovely family took great care of our dog Bowie. I received text and photo updates almost daily in his 11 day stay. Though Bowie was happy to see us return from our trip, I think he missed being with such a great family! We highly recommend them and will certainly use them again!”

“Tiffany was absolutely awesome! We are so glad that we found her. Tiffany kept updating us daily with the pictures for 10 days. We will definitely send our puppy to Tiffany when we need again. Thank you so much Tiffany!”

“Nikhil provides five star service. He kept Milo in playful and happy mode. I could see that from pictures and videos Nikhil shared. I can say with confidence that Nikhil is a top provider here in Charlotte area. Your pet will be treated safely and nicely.”

“Nathalie was absolutely wonderful with our old gal S’mores!! She was such a pleasure to communicate with, and she was so caring with S’mores’ little needs for an older dog who is a little deaf… She sent great pictures and made sure our gal had a smooth, easy visit! Many thanks!!!!!😊😊”

“This was our first experience with Rover. Our dog just turned one and we had boarded her at a commercial facility and a home atmosphere appealed to us as an alternative so we tried it out. Alyssa and Spencer are fantastic. We met with them beforehand just to ease our concerns and the weekend went so well that we rebooked for two more trips this summer. We highly recommend them!”

“Shalyn and her family were wonderful with our 3 year old dog Mary. She is a rescue and it was our first time boarding her so we were nervous. It was also the first time Mary spent an extended period of time with another dog. Their dog Scout was great with Mary. I received several pictures of Mary being loved on and playing well with Scout. Shalyn has a great fenced in yard. I definitely recommend her & will book with her again.”

“Cece took great care of Dodger while we were away for the weekend! She provided us with thorough updates each day and several photos. She asked great questions about our routines and made sure all of Dodger’s needs were met. We will be bringing Dodger back to her for sure!”

“Tina was fantastic! Her home is clean and welcoming. She was responsive, detailed, and most importantly, kind to my baby. My dog was not stressed like she’s been with other sitters, and well attended to. Tina provided pictures and a detailed daily summary. I will happily use her services again.”

“Christine was amazing! She took such great care of Rufus. He got tons of exercise and we got plenty of updates. It was great to know he was in such good hands. When our travel plans changed at the last minute due to a flight cancellation, Christine was very understanding and flexible. We appreciated it so much”

“Susanne was a wonderful mom to our nervous senior dog. She sent lots of updates and photos which kept us at ease while we were away. Her home was well equipped with doggy items and it's in a wonderful neighborhood perfect for afternoon walks. I'll definitely be requesting Susanne again!”

“Kristian and her family are THE BEST! For smaller or medium sized dogs, this is a safe, fun, happy place with the family’s sweetest dogs, tons of room to run in a huge backyard, and so much love and attention. Chloe thinks it’s Christmas when we take her!!!”

Heather did a great job caring for both my boys. They seemed comfortable and at ease with her (which was a huge concern of mine) and she was well aware of the importance of daily medication (another comfort). She even picked up toys for them during their stay! Absolutely appreciate her generosity, flexibility, and care of them while I was out of town.

Brandi was amazing. We are so happy we found her. With the new move and last minute booking we wanted someone nearby. She was awesome with all the pictures and updates and so accommodating with last minute changes. Hope we can have lLegend visit in the future :)

I had a fantastic experience with Jeffrey. Communication was excellent from start to finish—he kept me updated with messages and pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog had the best time playing with his dog, and it was clear he was loved and well cared for. When I picked him up, he was happy, healthy, and tired from all the fun. His home was also very clean and felt like a safe environment. I would definitely book again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
