“This was my first time leaving Laila at home and I could not have asked for anyone better! They took amazing care of her and always kept me updated ! I cannot thank them (and Winter) enough! You guys are truly the best! Thank you so much!!!!”

About: I’m a 19 year old student at UNC Charlotte and have grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals comes very naturally to me. I’ve also dog and cat sat many times for friends, family, and others, including feeding, walking, playing, and overnight care. I’m comfortable with pets of different sizes and personalities, and I always make sure to follow routines closely so pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I’m available for check-ins, feedings, walks, and overnight stays with pets. I’m also flexible with my schedule and can adjust to meet a pet’s specific routine, whether that means multiple visits a day or staying longer to make sure they’re comfortable and cared for. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I always follow their specific instructions closely to keep their pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I make sure pets are fed on time, have fresh water, get plenty of attention, and any other care they need like walks, playtime, or litter box cleaning. I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and keep everything clean and organized. I also like to provide updates and photos so owners feel comfortable knowing their pet is happy and well cared for while they’re away.
“India gives continue care even after leaving. I have come home to relaxing sounds/music left on the TV. I would have never thought of that, but feel like it keeps our over anxious dog relaxed while we are gone. Now if I could only remember to do that. 😬”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have cared for three family dogs — a Golden Retriever, a Goldendoodle, and an Australian Labradoodle. From energetic puppies to a senior dog who lived to be 16, I’ve experienced every stage of a dog’s life and genuinely love being around animals. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, feeding routines, giving lots of attention, and adapting to each dog’s personality and needs. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I’ll treat your dog like family while you’re away. I recently relocated back home after living abroad, so my schedule is very open right now, which allows me to be highly available for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I know how important it is to trust the person watching your pet, so I always try to keep things calm, consistent, and as close to their normal routine as possible. Whether that’s walks, playtime, feeding, or just giving them extra attention and cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel happy and comfortable. I really love animals and will treat your pets like they’re my own.
“Thank you Justin for watching my puppy for an entire week. Justin also came to visit Jared the day before we left so he could see and smell him. Jared immediately liked Justin. Justin also volunteered to watched Jared an additional day for me. I will definitely be using Justin in the future. I really appreciate him for helping me.”

“Her credentials are what drew me to her and from day one (the meet and greet) I knew she’d be the one. Loki my male cat doesn’t warm up to anyone for at least a week of them coming around and he went right to her. He could sense her kind soul. I have never hired a pet sitter before this but I will definitely hire Taryn again. She went above and beyond. I had to have major surgery and was in the hospital for 7 days and it was comforting to know that my cats Stella and Loki were in terrific loving hands. Love Love Love her!!!”

“First time using Rover and Brittany. She did an initial meet and greet and came by one more time before services started since I was a new customer. Brittany communicated daily and sent pictures. One of my cats needed meds and she did all as requested. Would use her again and do recommend.”

“It seems fitting on our kitty's 4th birthday, to again state that Gina is the very best kind of pet care giver. She loves animals, has excellent skills with them and their owners, is totally reliable and is also a spectacular informal pet photographer. We all love Gina at our house!”

But I still have plenty of time for your pup. I am flexible on times and days just please communicate with me! About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and have experience caring for pets for family, friends, and neighbors. I’m comfortable feeding pets, providing fresh water, taking dogs on walks, cleaning up after them, and giving them plenty of attention and playtime. I understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, so I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they’re in my care. I’m dependable, responsible, and committed to treating and loving every pet as if they were my own. Please note: I’ll be moving to Appalachian State University in about two weeks, so I’m currently accepting bookings in my current area through then. I make time for walks, playtime, feeding, and lots of attention while following your pet’s normal routine. About: I’ve been pet sitting since I was 13, whether it was neighbors or family, I always put forth the effort to make your pets feel loved and supported! I’m currently a student so I’ll have plenty of time to drop by and play with your pets, feed them, and walk them, if desired. I have two dogs myself, one thing I love to do is curl up on the couch with a good book with my pups! (I think they just like to lay on my legs.)
About: I have a dog and cat of my own at home! I’ve fostered kittens and puppies and volunteered for several animal related agencies like the Human Society and Tails of the Trails. I’m currently working full time, so I am available all day on the weekends or after work (6pm) on weekdays! I am also available early in the mornings before work (8am). I am very attentive to animals and probably enjoy walks and play time as much as they do! I have experience caring for older animals as well that need special care, so I am equipped to provide detailed attention as well!
“Katherine was great with our 3 little pups. She picked up on their personalities right away and connected with each one. She sent plenty of cute pics and is definitely on our list for our next trip.”

About: I previously cat/dog and house sat while living in NYC and Los Angeles, and now North/South Carolina. I walked the dogs several times daily, prepared special meals as directed and kept them company. With cats, I made sure their litter boxes were clean and they had their meals and medications. Up until recently, I had threesenior dogs, a chi-weenie and a dachshund. The dachshund had back trouble so I took her to the acupuncturist and chiropractor, she also had chronic UTI so she was on medications. One of my dogs had seizures, so I had special diets and medications for her. I would love to meet you & your pet! I am currently working from home so can be available during the day in case your pet needs more bathroom breaks or additional attention. Will be able to work around their schedule, I can walk your pet around your neighborhood. I like to make sure that they have some reflective tapes/leash in case we're out at night.

Taryn was absolutely fantastic! Every visit, she sent an update on how my pup was doing and a few great photos so I wouldn’t miss him so much. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring companion for their pet while they’re away. Thanks, Taryn!

Yaphet was incredible. Our 12 year old dog Bree is not easy to work with to begin with and we had just moved so she was extra on edge. He handled her well, gave her the dailies she needed + exercise and was great with our cat Tuft as well at the same time. He was communicative, took photos and updated us as needed. Highly recommend!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
