About: I have taken care of animals my whole life. Growing up we always had dogs/cats/fish. I am very active and love going on walks/runs. I'd be happy to have your pup tag along. I am familiar with puppies all the way to hospice senior dogs. More recently, we had to let our 14.5 years old bulldog go due to kidney failure. I am experienced in routines, meds, special harnesses, & subcutaneous fluid IVs. I like to live an active lifestyle outside of my 8-5 job. While with your pups, we can go on numerous “snifaris” - play fetch or keep away in a fenced yard - or even just snuggle on thr couch & watch tv! I currently don't have any pets. I live in a 3-story townhome with a minimal yard with no fence - but plenty of common areas and leashed walking space.

About: Hello! As a lifelong pet owner and pet lover, I’ve taken care of critters of all sizes; dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hermit crabs, etc! Since I was 12, I’ve helped watch/walk friend’s and neighbor’s pets, and love hanging out with animals. I’m currently a college student who has had both professional jobs and pet care experience, and would love to meet your furry friends! I’m currently working part-time, so my schedule is pretty flexible. I’m almost always available in the mornings, and can work around my job schedule that is posted weekly. As someone who has taken care of my dogs/cats since elementary school, I am comfortable walking animals big (I have 1 husky and a malamute mix) or small!

About: Hi! I have experience with all types of dogs, from high energy breeds with anxiety to calm dogs who just want to relax. I worked at a dog daycare for two years, where I cared for a wide range of personalities and needs. I’ve also been dog sitting for the past four years and truly love what I do. Everyone knows me as the girl who, if there’s a dog around, I’ll find it. Don’t worry, I still talk to people, but I’ll definitely be the one giving the dog the most attention. I have two German Shepherds of my own. One is 12, and the other is 3 with significant anxiety, so I understand how important patience and individualized care are. I’ve been around dogs my whole life and treat them like family. I would love to provide your dog/dogs with attentive, loving care so you can enjoy your time away feeling completely stress free. Pet care fits into my daily life naturally since I’m already used to being around dogs all the time. I plan my day around walks, feeding, and spending time with each dog so they get reliable, focused care every visit. When I care for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep everything as familiar and consistent as possible. I follow their routine, give them attention based on their personality, and make sure they feel calm, safe, and cared for while their owner is gone.
“Sarah was phenomenal! She met with me the day before the booking started and was ready to go to take care of my parents’ cats. She was communicative, sent photos each visit, and the cats took right to her! She was professional, punctual, and such a wonderful sitter! I highly recommend her to anyone needing care for their animals while they are away!”

About: I’m a 19 year old student at UNC Charlotte and have grown up with dogs my entire life, so caring for animals comes very naturally to me. I’ve also dog and cat sat many times for friends, family, and others, including feeding, walking, playing, and overnight care. I’m comfortable with pets of different sizes and personalities, and I always make sure to follow routines closely so pets feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I have classes in the mornings until around 12, which leaves me free for the rest of the day and evenings. I’m available for check-ins, feedings, walks, and overnight stays with pets throughout the afternoon and night. I’m also flexible with my schedule and can adjust to meet a pet’s specific routine, whether that means multiple visits a day or staying longer to make sure they’re comfortable and cared for. When caring for pets in my clients’ homes, I always follow their specific instructions closely to keep their pet’s routine as consistent as possible. I make sure pets are fed on time, have fresh water, get plenty of attention, and any other care they need like walks, playtime, or litter box cleaning. I’m respectful of my clients’ homes and keep everything clean and organized. I also like to provide updates and photos so owners feel comfortable knowing their pet is happy and well cared for while they’re away.
“Erica was wonderful. She came to check Mikey, walk with him, and play him for five days. I can tell when I returned home he was happy and well cared for. Thank you so much Erica. I could not have done what I did this week without your help.”

“Katherine was so wonderful with our pups (3 all under 6 months)!!! Her time with the pups was more than asked for - she provided awesome pics & video which helped make me feel like all the pups were in great hands!”

“Meghan was one of the best Rover’s we’ve ever had. She took the time to let each kitty get used to her. Even the most skittish of the bunch came out to play. We will absolutely be using Meghan the next time.”

About: I've taken care of pets all of my life. From puppies all the way up to seniors. I love them all. They all need someone to care for them and feel the extra love especially when their normal family is away. I'm currently flexible and can fit pet care into my daily routine. Occasionally, I will pick up an additional job. But that shouldn't interrupt with taking care of what I love to do and that is to take care of fur babies. I would rather take care of your pets in their environment due to the fact that they are most comfortable there. I also have two fur babies of my own. But I feel as if fur babies are normally happy in their own surroundings.

About: I’m a lover of all critters—big and small! I’ve worked with everypup from puppies to elderly dogs and loved doing it. I’m confident with a leash of any type, reinforcing owner routines, and basic medication administration. Warning: I might have to spoil your dog with a treat or two 🦴 I’m currently a student at UNCC paying for my degree with what I love most—dogs! For me, I’m available midday most days of the week including weekends! My best hours would be between 11:00am to 4:00pm but let me know what you need! I’m happy to work with you and your pups. I’d care for your dog like my own! If you have any specific instructions for care—they’d be followed to a tee. I’d ensure a safe environment while also providing plenty of attention. Additionally, you’d be sure to receive several photo updates. Any of your pet’s care will be tailored to their needs.
“Brandy is THE best!! She takes such good care of our animals when we are gone. She has cared for our dog, kittens and even a foster momma and 11 nursing puppies! Yes- she’s that amazing!! And she’s a mom herself so she thinks outside the box about things that need to be addressed while you are gone. Can’t recommend her enough! So thankful for her!”

People wont regret it I’m currently working full time but work first thing in the morning from 6 to 1. I let them Out first thing in the morning before I go to work. “A week before we were leaving to go out of town for Christmas, the company I hired to watch our dogs cancelled. We have 8 dogs so it’s not easy to find someone to take them on, especially during the holidays. After calling well over a dozen companies I decided to try rover and found Ashley. I am SO glad I did. Ashley is by far the BEST pet sitter I’ve ever had. She is knowledgeable, trustworthy, patient and thorough. She not only loves dogs, she understands them and was able to deal with our formerly feral rescue dog’s behavior issues. Her updates were specific and made me laugh because she definitely understood our dogs individual quirks. Our dogs all got the attention we hoped they would while we were away. AND I came home to my house being cleaner than I left it! Obviously, we will hire Ashley again anytime we need a pet sitter. I can’t say enough good things about Ashley! Thank you for taking such good care of our babies!!!!”
About: I work from home and would love an excuse to get up from my desk and what better excuse than to get some puppy and dog cuddles while also getting exercise by walking. I currently have a corporate work from home job that requires me to be at a desk. This type of schedule fits into my routine because it allows me to visit pets before starting work, at lunch or breaks, and also after work. My schedule is very flexible that I can meet you where you need it. I am very detail oriented and a huge pet lover at heart so when I am visiting your house, I respect the house rules and follow instructions to a T. I also am very high energy due to ADHD and am a great partner for fetch and walks.
“Thank you Beth & Kevin for being available on such short notice to take care of our 10 year old Black Lab and our 11 week old Chocolate Lab. We knew immediately that our fur babies were left in good hands. We will definitely use you guys when we need a pet sitter. Thank you”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Wesley Chapel
I had some long away from home outings planned and no one in my bubble was around to let my Veda out. I quickly got on my Rover app and chose Avia even though she had no reviews and must be new to the app. I trusted the process and went with it, wanting to give someone a chance to grow their side biz. Although I never met her, she took care of my dog two days in a row for drop-in visits. Will use her again when I’m in a bind!!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
