About: I have been a lover of animals, of all kinds, for as long as I can remember. I have 10+ years of experience petsitting & volunteering with both cats & dogs. I would love the opportunity to provide your animals with love and reliable care while you’re away. In addition, I have experience administering medicine to both cats & dogs. I have a dog and 3 cats who add so much love & companionship to my family’s life. Animal rescue has always been my passion and if my fiancé would let me, I’d adopt so many more 😻 I am a fiancé, mom and full time marketing professional during the week, but can provide either drop-in visits or walks mainly on the weekends (potentially during the week depending on my fiancé’s schedule). I will treat & respect your home like it were my own. My goal is to provide your pet(s) with love, reliable care and a sense of normalcy while you’re away!
About: I've taken care of others pets for many years and will love them and care for them as if they were my own! I have a four year old spoiled rotten mini dachshund named Winnie, a black cat named Sweetie and a leapard gecko! My neighborhood also has a private pond and walking trail so if your baby loves to go for walks then this is the place for them. I am currently a stay at home mom with three older children that are in school the majority of the day. I will be home to love and care for your pet and give them all the attention they deserve without distractions I have a fenced in backyard with a loving dog of my own to keep your pet company! I only take on 2 to 3 dogs at a time so I can accommodate any specific requests needed for your fur baby such as crating, specific dietary requests, ect. I also have lots of ramps and stairs for smaller dogs and a gate that blocks my staircase leading upstairs.

“Summer did a great job with our older dogs and was very attentive to their needs. We received notices when she checked in and checked out with our pets and she was even able to accommodate a last minute time change during the afternoon! Thank you, Summer!”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life, so caring for pets has always come naturally to me. My most recent pup was very high-energy and required daily stress-reducing exercises, which gave me hands-on experience in keeping active dogs both happy and balanced. Before that, I cared for a blue pit with severe allergies who needed daily medication, so I’m also very comfortable supporting pets with special needs and extra routines. Through it all, I’ve learned that every dog deserves patience, consistency, and plenty of love. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making their safety, comfort, and happiness my top priorities. On a personal note, I’m currently saving for my wedding, which makes me extra grateful for every family who trusts me with their four-legged loved ones—it’s an honor I don’t take lightly. I work from home full time, which means I can give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. If I’m dog sitting or dog boarding at mine, you can feel confident knowing someone will always be home with your pup. I’m available for dog sitting and dog boarding any day of the week, and I can also provide drop-in visits after 4:00 p.m. on Fridays as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays. My flexible schedule allows me to adjust to each pet’s needs, whether that’s extra walks, playtime, or cuddles. When pets are in my home, I make sure they feel like part of the family. They’ll have a safe, comfortable space, plenty of playtime, and lots of love and attention throughout the day since I work from home. I follow their normal routines as closely as possible—whether that’s mealtime, walks, or quiet time—so they feel secure and at ease. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their space with respect while keeping their pets on the same schedule they’re used to. I provide regular updates and photos so you know your furry family member is happy and well cared for at all times.

About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, and horses. I previously worked as an equine veterinary technician and am comfortable with pets of all sizes and personalities. Growing up I did a lot of farm sitting and so I am used to juggling quite a few animals at a time. I currently have two cats, a dog, and a horse, so I understand how important it is to provide safe, loving, and dependable care. Because I work from home, I have the flexibility to accommodate different schedules and give pets the time and attention they deserve. Whether it’s a long walk, sticking to a feeding routine, or simply providing companionship, I’m able to be dependable and responsive. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and caring for them is a natural part of my everyday life. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable, safe, and stress-free in their own environment. About: I was born into a family of animal lovers and have never known life without pets. Over the years, my family has cared for 15+ animals, including dogs, cats and other small pets giving me lifelong experience with animals of different ages, sizes, personalities, and care needs. Today, I help care for our two dogs and am the primary caregiver for our three cats, so I understand the responsibility, patience, and consistency that pets need to feel safe and happy. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, administering oral medications, providing daily exercise, and making sure dogs receive plenty of attention, enrichment, and affection. Whether your dog loves to play, explore, or simply enjoys having someone nearby, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pets the attention they deserve. I’m available for dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and most holidays. I do my best to accommodate last minute requests whenever possible and will always keep my availability up to date. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. When caring for pets in your home, I’ll carefully follow all of your instructions, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications and any special care your pet may need. I’ll also make sure your home is respected by keeping things clean, secure and exactly as you left them. Since I have pets of my own, I currently only offer services in clients’ homes. I know how important it is to trust someone with a beloved family member, so I pride myself on clear communication, reliability, and treating every pet as if they were my own.

About: I’ve taken care of my 3 cats, 1 dog, and 3 snakes for a while now. I always make sure to make time for them, and show them love no matter what type of animal. I work part time at a retirement home in Matthews, NC. I’ve worked there for over a year now, but I always make time for my pets no matter what. On Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, I work from 10AM-6:30PM, BUT I can still drop in before or after work on those days as well. I keep all of my animals safe at all times. No open doors, no dangerous foods, and especially no sharp objects around them. When they’re safe, i’m happy.
“Grace & Mara were wonderful sitters! They took care of our three fur-babies while we were on family vacation. They had excellent communication the entire time and gave extra attention to our dog who deals with separation anxiety. We highly recommend them for your future pet care services!”

About: Grown up with animals all my life. They are my people and I treat them how I want to be treated. I have had all types of dogs ranging from a headstrong frenchie to a diabetic abused beautiful Great Dane. Standard poodles are my spirit animal and I have had the luxury of having three (so far) in my life. I’m the friend/family member that when they need someone to help with their fur babies I’m the first person they reach out too. I’m currently working only part time as a bartender so I have a great deal of free time and availability. My schedule allows me to be very flexible. I’m responsible and reliable and will treat your pets like they are my own. I have an amazing home with one frenchie now with a large (mostly shaded) fenced in yard.
About: I have experience caring for animals of all different sizes and types, including dogs, cats, donkeys, goats, chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, turtles, and even an Emu! I am a swim teacher, I work on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, usually only in 4 hour shifts. I am also enrolled at cpcc, and have to attend classes for a couple hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I prefer to care for pets in their home, as I find it's is the least stressful for the not only the pet, but for me and my own pets as well. I do however offer drop in visits and walks.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lake Park
We have been using Lisa for vacation check-ins for about a year now and she is so wonderful!! She is our go-to every time we’re out of town. We have quite a feisty cat, but Lisa still takes such good care of him. We always feel good knowing she is checking up on him while we’re gone.

This is the second time we’ve booked Carson, this time just for some drop-in visits for our diabetic cat over a weekend trip, and she outdid herself yet again! It’s critical that he has enough food in his system to receive his insulin injection to prevent his blood sugar from getting too low, so when he decided to go on a hunger strike out of retaliation of us leaving town (🙄) she stayed at our house longer than originally agreed upon and tried several different methods to get him to eat and eventually was successful. This just goes to show she clearly cares so incredibly much about the welfare of the animals under her care, as if they’re her own! We will definitely continue rebooking with Carson anytime she’s available!!

Avery was amazing! She took such great care of our girls while we were away and was super sweet, patient, and reliable. She handled giving medication with no issues at all and kept us updated with photos which helped us being away from them. We’d absolutely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and responsible sitter!!

Aleah is the best person we could have asked for, for our little Izzy. She took such good care of her for 12 days, the longest we’ve ever been away from her. We couldn’t have chosen a better person! Seeing the daily photos of Aleah walking her, knowing she was loved on and cared for in this way, we will ALWAYS hope Aleah’s available to take care of Izzy in the future. Thank you Aleah..for making our vacation much easier, knowing Izzy was getting the best care ever and Izzy thanks you, too!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
