About: I started pet and house sitting in 2015 and have loved caring for furry, feathered, and even scale-y friends ever since. As a farm kid through and through, I'm comfortable with animals of all shapes and sizes and have experience caring for nearly every type of pet you can imagine. I don't shy away from big animals (or big messes!) I recently completed my graduate degree and became a nationally certified Physician Assistant. While my training is in human medicine, I have experience caring for pets with complex medical needs, including administering injections, medications, and subcutaneous fluids. At home, I share my life with two cats, Winston and Franklin, one of whom is an FIP survivor. About: I have been around animals my entire life and grew up caring for dogs, cats, hamsters, and even reptiles. Over the past five years, my family has had a full house of pets, including one dog, two cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and a chameleon, so I’m very comfortable with a variety of animals and their unique needs. In 2021, I completed training to have my golden retriever certified as a therapy dog. After becoming licensed, she worked alongside me in public schools, where she provided comfort and support to students. That experience strengthened my skills in handling, training, and understanding animals while ensuring they feel safe, calm, and well cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I work from home, which allows me to give animals plenty of attention throughout the day. Caring for animals is already part of my daily life with our own pets, so adding additional pet care feels like a natural extension of our routine. Since I already have pets in our home, I understand the importance of maintaining routines, providing regular feeding times, potty breaks, playtime, and plenty of attention. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special instructions the owner provides. About: I’ve loved and taken care of dogs since my childhood. During my high school years, I was at home full-time with our dog, a Westie named Duncan, so I was responsible for feeding and walking him, letting him outside, and playing with him. Since then, I have gained additional experience with house sitting and in-home visits by taking care of friends' and neighbors' dogs. Dogs are such a joy and when I take care of them, I’m committed to making sure they feel happy and loved. I’m currently working part-time for a church and studying full-time, which means I have flexible availability outside of my work schedule (12 hours/week). It’s relatively easy for me to adjust my schedule and make time to check on your pets as needed. For in-home visits and care, I promise to be extremely careful and respectful regarding your home. I will do exactly what is required to take care of your pets. I have experience following a schedule for meal time and potty breaks, so I can adhere to any routine you keep for your pets.
