If I could give more than 5 stars I would! This was my first Rover experience and I couldn’t be happier using Kristen! She gave thorough updates each visit and provided many pictures. She was more than accommodating with the weird schedule we had. I highly recommend Kristen and she even gave extra love to the additional indoor and outdoor animals (she was only responsible for one dog!). I am so glad to know we have someone to check on Rosie and the other animals during future travels. Thank you Kristen!!! 🫶🏽

About: I have had experience with dogs for 18 years, ever since my parents got a dog for us when I was 8 years old and I had to help train it and care for it. Ever since, my family has had more dogs i’ve helped train and care for, and I have had roommates and friends with dogs that I’ve helped train and care for (including puppies, service dogs, and dogs who are elderly/ill). I am a consistent cat caretaker ever since I turned 19, when I got my first cat (7 years ago). Ever since, I have felt drawn to care for kitties and have fostered many kittens and cats since, in addition to caring for my own 2. I owned a ball python for a year or two, and my father has for six years. My sister also owned a leopard gecko for five years. I also cared for multiple guinea pigs to help out a friend for a long time. I’ve also had friends and family that have had birds that I have helped care for in the past, however, I have less experience with them. In conclusion, no matter the type, breed, size, age or health of your pet, it is important to me to make our companions/partners in life feel loved and cared for, and I would be honored to be a part of that! It is a large portion of my daily routine as is, and I would love for it to be an even larger part, especially if this could help provide means to live for my pets and I (finances) because due to certain conditions I am unable to work a normal job. I would care for your pets with kindness, love and patience. If you have any questions or concerns I would love to discuss them and I’m sure we could figure something out!

About: I’ve been working with dogs for 6 years, but they’ve been my biggest passion since I was little. I have a certification in dog training, have taken a first aid class, and have experience with all kinds of pups! Dogs are my full-time job, which means your pup gets all of my time and attention! My day revolves around the care of my furr-ends! I have a fenced in yard and have a room in my home dedicated to the care of my clients! I have large comfy kennel spaces for each of my guests but if your pup happens to be social and non-destructive I would allow them to free-roam!

About: With 17 years of dedicated experience in dog care, I am the proud owner of three canine companions – one over 14 years old and two between 1-2 years old. Specializing in comprehensive care for senior dogs, I prioritize their well-being, and I am equally adept at managing the exuberance of high-energy dogs. Ensuring a hygienic and comfortable environment is a commitment I extend to all dogs in my care, with particular attention to the unique needs of senior dogs, including accidents, diaper changes, and puppy pad adjustments. My comfort level extends to administering medications, accommodating special diets, handling leash-pulling, and caring for larger breeds. I possess valuable knowledge in addressing the specific requirements of elderly dogs, demonstrating proficiency in managing issues like accidents, diaper usage, and the regular changing of puppy pads. I derive immense joy from engaging dogs in activities that balance their mood and energy levels, whether it's long walks, runs, or interactive play. When entrusted with a dog's care, I treat them as if they were my own, prioritizing their comfort, health, and happiness. Confident in my ability to discern any signs of discomfort or distress, I am vigilant as a pet owner and can readily identify when a dog requires assistance. I am fully adaptable and committed to following any special requests or specific needs for the pups under my care. While I may be new to professional dog sitting, my enthusiasm and passion for dogs make me eager to embark on this exciting journey. Rest assured, your furry companions will be in caring and capable hands under my watch. I can tailor the walks or check-ins to accommodate your schedule. Since I work from home, I have the flexibility to adjust to the time that suits you best. In my dedicated care environment, safety, trust, and a comfortable setting are paramount for both my canine companions and future clients' dogs. With a senior dog and two energetic youngsters, my fenced-in backyard provides a secure space for them to play and explore. I understand the importance of addressing unique challenges, such as leash aggression, and have diligently worked with my dog to overcome it. I prioritize clear communication, always ensuring others are aware when encountering another dog. This proactive approach reflects my commitment to the safety and well-being of all dogs involved, fostering an environment where trust and harmony thrive.

About: I’ve always been an animal lover, and caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy! I have a cat of my own, Archie, and a dog, Stella, who are completely spoiled, and I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs with different personalities and needs. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely care about making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their people are away. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, likes, and boundaries rather than treating every visit the same. Whether your pet wants to play, cuddle, go for a walk, or simply have someone nearby, I’m happy to give them the attention they need. I’m responsible, attentive, patient, and will treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. 🐶🐱💕 I have a flexible schedule and can plan my days around the needs of your pets. I’m happy to coordinate visits, walks, playtime, feeding, and other care around your pet’s normal routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions, keep doors and gates secure, maintain their normal routines, and treat your home with respect. I’m attentive to pets’ behavior and needs and will always communicate with you if anything seems unusual.

About: I have been raised with a pet by side. When I have born we had two brittany spaniels that have since passed on. In 8th grade, after they passed, we adopted another puppy brittany. A year later, we adopted another, to have our current pair of brittanys. So I have experience raising puppies as well. I play with them outdoors and indoors, brush them, clean up their poop, bath them, feed them, and train them. They also get taken on walks at the local forest preserve for stimulation. I have experience in caring for fish and snakes. Between dogs, I had my cat to keep me company. She is solely my cat, so she got the same attention as the dogs, plus I bought her toys, treats, litter, and food. Outside of my dogs I have pet sit goldens labs, goldendoodles, springer spaniels, and many other breeds. As in my headline, I don't think any animal is low maintenance. That just means the pet isn't getting the care it deserves. I had my cat at my dorm first semester, and I fed her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I made sure to play with twice a day and we played birds on the tv for stimulation as well. I had a weekly schedule to brush her twice a week, and clean the litter box every Sunday and Wednesday. At home I would alternate playing with my dogs, training, and brushing them whenever possible. I can play indoors and outdoors. I can take the animal for walks. Clean up any potential messes, such as muddy dogs or if a cat has a hairball. I can accompany senior pets that need help eating. I can brush the animal. And feed them, and do basic training.

She's excellent. Reliable like clockwork, affectionate to our puppy, and she takes really good photos! Our puppy was growing and the instructions for care kept changing with her size/potty training- these changes went really smoothly in part because she kept everything consistent 😁 We've been working with her for half a year now, and we have never had any issues or complaints.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Unionville. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
