About: I have always had at least one fur baby in our home with experience in taking care of my senior dog to. I will treat your baby like they are one of mine. I currently work full time in Indian Land Monday- Friday weekends off. I would be able to care for your baby before and after work, during lunch and before bed. Weekends I am available all day. I have a fenced yard if a client's needs to bring them to my home. If I was in my clients home I would keep them to their daily routine. Make them always feel safe and loved
“As always, Gina did a great job with our pups. I’ve been away all week and Gina has been doing daily drop-ins. The dogs love her and when I see pictures of our usually scared and shy dog trying to sit in her lap, it makes me so happy. I’ve loved the daily updates and adorable pics from Gina and truly appreciate her being there when I can’t be.”

“While I was on my honeymoon, Justin did more than a phenomenal job. My husband and I have never used rover before and have a ton of cats (6 inside and 10+ strays we feed). Justin kept me up to date everyday with great photos, told me how they were doing and made sure they ate and we're fine without us haha. If I could ever only recommend one person, it would be Justin. He is absolutely fantastic and if you're looking for someone to take care of your animal while you are gone, Justin is your guy.”

“This was my first time leaving Laila at home and I could not have asked for anyone better! They took amazing care of her and always kept me updated ! I cannot thank them (and Winter) enough! You guys are truly the best! Thank you so much!!!!”

“I can not fully express my Gratitude to Brittany. She is an amasing person, and there was a full connect from day one with Jett, which makes her a great sitter. She was on top of daily routines, always on time and Jett had such a great time with Brittany. Jett and I we personally will be recommending her to anyone who has needs on leaveing their loved pawmily members under Brittany's supervision.”

About: What sets me apart is the deep, lifelong connection I’ve had with dogs. I’ve personally raised three pups from just six weeks old all the way through their senior years. Each one grew into a loving, obedient, and well-mannered companion, and I’ve been through every stage of life with them—from puppy energy to senior snuggles. That experience has given me a strong understanding of how to care for dogs at any age, whether it’s gentle patience with a new pup or extra comfort and support for older dogs. This is a truly dog-friendly home where your pet will feel like family. I have three kind and respectful kids who absolutely adore dogs and are always excited to welcome new furry friends into our home. Whether your pup loves to play, nap, or just follow someone around all day, there’s a warm spot (and probably a willing lap) waiting for them here. I don’t just watch dogs—I care for them as if they were my own. 🐾 Hi! I’m a school social worker with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, and caring for others—whether it’s students or furry friends—has always been second nature to me. I’ve had a dog in my life since I was a teenager, and I truly believe dogs are one of the most perfect, loving animals on this earth. 💛 Over the years, I’ve trained dogs to go potty outside, sit, stay, lay down, heel on walks, and even speak when it’s treat time (a favorite trick in our house!). I’ve also raised multiple dogs from puppyhood through their senior years, so I’m comfortable with dogs at all life stages and energy levels. This is a dog-loving home, through and through. I have three kids who are gentle, kind, and absolutely adore dogs. There’s always a cozy corner, a warm cuddle, and plenty of love waiting for your pup here. Whether they want to play, nap, go on walks, or just soak up some attention, your dog will be treated like one of the family I do not have a fence in yard but it is partially fenced in. I do have a dog lead and I will always be outside
“Nikki is fantastic with our pups! She has really taken the time to get to know them and is able to manage any situation perfectly. We feel so comfortable leaving them in her care!”

About: Hi! We’re Christina and Brian, a husband-and-wife pet sitting team who love giving pets the comfort and consistency of staying in their own home while their people are away. 🐾 We are both approved Rover sitters and have each completed Rover’s background check, which gives us the flexibility to work together or individually depending on the needs and schedule of each booking. We’ll always communicate with you ahead of time about who will be caring for your pets so you know exactly what to expect. 🐾 One of the perks of our different schedules is that we can offer flexible care. Christina works remotely and when she is the primary sitter, can often work right from your home. This means she is able to spend much of the day with pets who enjoy extra companionship or aren't used to being alone for a traditional workday. Brian works outside of the home during the day, so his housesitting schedule looks more like a traditional work schedule with care before and after work and overnight. 🐾 We understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and comfort level. We’re happy to follow feeding schedules, walks, medications, bedtime routines, and all of the little things that help your pets feel like life is as normal as possible while you're gone. 🐾 We also know how important it is to feel comfortable with the people staying in your home. We take that responsibility seriously and want you to enjoy your trip knowing your pets and home are being well cared for. We provide regular updates and photos and are always happy to communicate as much or as little as you prefer. 🐾 Before accepting a booking, we like to make sure we're a good fit for your pets, their routine, and the amount of time they’re accustomed to being alone. That way, we can determine which of us is the best fit for your stay and make sure everyone knows exactly what to expect before booking. I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible which allows me the ability to work around your needs for pet sitting/walking. I'm happy to talk further about specific needs. I would follow instructions of the pet owner - supervised backyard play, on-leash walks, etc. I always provide updates at each check-in and include photos.
“Katherine helped us out on short notice and was really thoughtful in taking care of our pup. We will be calling her again in the future. Good communication and prompt. Recommend.”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for years, and I’ve spent plenty of time watching dogs, cats, and small pets for friends and family, plus volunteering with rescue animals. That mix means I’m comfortable with everything from an anxious rescue who needs a slow introduction to a high-energy pup who needs a real walk before settling down. I offer boarding, house sitting, drop-in visits, dog walking, and doggy day care. Whatever the arrangement, I stick to your pet’s routine. Same feeding times, same walk schedule, same spot on the couch, and I send photo updates so you know exactly how your animal is doing while you’re away. My background is in healthcare, so I’m careful and reliable with medication schedules, mobility issues, and senior pets who need extra patience. I’m currently caring for pets full time. My schedule is flexible and I’m also open to a regular schedule. 6am to 10pm is my preferred working hours. I have a large neighborhood with lots of sidewalks, a dog park, and trails for walks, my furniture is pet friendly. I keep a close eye on your pets and genuinely love to keep them company. I’m happy to offer any kind of exercise needed as I’m an athlete myself.
“Grace & Mara were wonderful sitters! They took care of our three fur-babies while we were on family vacation. They had excellent communication the entire time and gave extra attention to our dog who deals with separation anxiety. We highly recommend them for your future pet care services!”

“Marina did a great job with twice daily drop-ins for 3 cats for 4 days. The cats where all comfortable with her and all went smoothly. She also seems to be a genuinely nice person. She is going to come by for drop-ins for my cats on my next trip as well!”

About: I have a dog and cat of my own at home! I’ve fostered kittens and puppies and volunteered for several animal related agencies like the Human Society and Tails of the Trails. I’m currently working full time, so I am available all day on the weekends or after work (6pm) on weekdays! I am also available early in the mornings before work (8am). I am very attentive to animals and probably enjoy walks and play time as much as they do! I have experience caring for older animals as well that need special care, so I am equipped to provide detailed attention as well!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Waxhaw
This was our first time using Ryan and she did everything we asked. Plus, we have three cats, all with medical needs and medication regimes, which she also handled while we were away (for four days). We’re relieved to have someone we can trust with our cats and our home. Thanks Ryan for the help!

Not sure how we lucked out with Meghan as we just moved to Waxhaw and didn’t know any pet sitters, but she was amazing with our two older cats. One with special needs! One is shy and hides and she was a hit with him the first day. She gave his brother the meds and insulin shots he needed and sent us lots of adorable pictures while we were away.

Yaphet was incredible. Our 12 year old dog Bree is not easy to work with to begin with and we had just moved so she was extra on edge. He handled her well, gave her the dailies she needed + exercise and was great with our cat Tuft as well at the same time. He was communicative, took photos and updated us as needed. Highly recommend!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Waxhaw. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
