About: I am retired, have trained and shown dogs for over fifty years, live in a condo with one sheltie and one cat. I like to sit ONE dog at a time so it can have special one on one attention. Special arrangements can be made with two dogs that are from the same family. My floors are tile and I sterilize them between visits. I do NOT have a fenced yard but we have a 20 x 80 fenced dog run right outside my back door and we walk every two to three hours and once during the night. Since I am retired, I can be with your dog 24/7 with small exceptions. The dogs are allowed on the furniture and in the bed. I do insist that dogs be house trained and crate trained since we feed in crates or crate them if I have to be away. If you want personal care and attention for your dog, we would love to supply that service. We do NOT do meet and greets. We find that those brief encounters simply put stress on my dogs and yours. I take about an hour when a dog has arrived to acclimate him safely and comfortably. I only care for small dogs, under 30 pounds, and no puppies. Since I am retired, my schedule is pretty much staying around the house. There are no children and things are pretty quiet most of the time. About: I had dogs growing up and got our own rescue dog 6 years ago. I prefer older dogs who like a quiet home. I understand dogs that every dog has their own quirks and embrace that. I get up first thing in the morning and feed the animals, scoop litter boxes and let them out before I even feed myself. Then I go to work for anywhere from 3 to 6 hours. When I return home, dogs go outside for potty breaks, and cats get fed. Once the dogs come back in, they get fed. Depending on their needs and age, I give pretty regular potty breaks. And then a final potty break before bed. Petsitting helps complement my regular day job. I have a fenced in backyard for dogs to roam around, run and play, and to go to the bathroom. I have a 71 inch gate to my living room to separate large dogs from cats or other animals if needed. I also have multiple baby gates to separate out areas if animals don’t do well with other animals or need some time to adjust.

I currently have a very flexible schedule while studying for my North Carolina real estate license, so I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight stays on YOUR schedule. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pets and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away! I recently graduated and am focused on studying for my real estate exam right now, so my schedule is pretty flexible and I’m more than happy to accommodate to your dog’s regular routine. I will not be able to bring dogs into my residence but will gladly take care of your pets in the comfort of their own home and outdoor spaces.
