“Teresa was AMAZING! Our dog can be very “particular” and she went above and beyond to be kind and helpful towards her. She really took the stress off of us being out of town and our dog potentially not doing well missing us. We will definitely use Teresa again!”

“Nadezhda was an absolute angel! She has watched my little Sebastian a few times and everytime she has been so amazing. Great communication- always sends pics of my sweet boy and his food. She even went by my apt to check and see if my wet food had been delivered and unboxed and put in my fridge! She is so easy to work with and so kind. I would recommend her 10/10 to anyone!”

“Jordan was truly fantastic. I had her drop in a couple times a day on my dog while I was out of town. My dog is a shar pei and naturally very suspicious of strangers, but Jordan was very patient with her and managed to earn her trust. She sent 3-4 pics with every drop in and I could see that my dog was doing well and trusting her more and more every day. Will definitely recommend and ask for her help again!”

About: My family loves to run around and play games with furry friends, and there’s always time to snuggle up on the couch. I only take one dog at a time, which allows me to offer focused care to your pet. I have taken care of family and friends’ pets for over 20 years, and would love to help out your family! I am a teacher, and have very flexible summer hours. I can accommodate whatever you need during June-August. During the school, year I am available in the afternoons. I have a fenced-in backyard in a neighborhood with lots of walking paths. I do not have any pets of my own, so we can devote all of our attention to your furry friend!
“Chelsea was fantastic! She went out of her way to fix a mistake I made (Rover had an old address for me and I didn't realize it) and absolutely doted on my dogs. She was punctual and communicated beautifully, a true professional. I will hire Chelsea again and again!”

“Veda was a great sitter for my kitty while I was out of town! She sent pictures, kept me updated on how he was doing and also left the cutest Polaroids! Highly recommend booking with Veda!”

“LeNai has taken care of my cat Bella multiple times, and done a great job each time. She is professional, communicative, and my cat loves her a lot. I could not recommend LeNai highly enough.”

About: I am a dog lover and empath with 2 rescue pitbulls of my own. They’re favorite cousin is a chihuahua. I’ve loved and taken care of large and small dogs for most of my life. I’m a home-body. I work from home and so my availability is very flexible and basically spend majority of my day and week with my pets..I’m happy to make time for yours. I signed up for Rover to get out of the house and get some extra exercise - What could be more motivating than meeting and hanging out with more furbabies I’m very sensitive to pet’s mood and natural anxieties and so I don’t take unnecessary risks. Any boarded pets would have their own private bedroom and will be kept separate even for potty breaks in my fenced yard.
“Anna was great- so communicative and took great care of June with drop in visits at our home. It was so helpful to have someone who was proactive with communication, letting me know exactly how each visit went so I didn’t have to ask or worry! We will definitely use her again.”

“Joann did a wonderful job checking on our 2 cats! She made sure they had plenty of food, water, and socialization. Our cats are normally quite shy but were very comfortable with her! We would definitely recommend her!”

“Minh was amazing taking care of our babies as always. She always goes the extra mile and makes it a point to communicate everything going on while you’re away!!! We always appreciate her commitment to caring for our kitties as we do, and will definitely look forward to booking with her again in the future if possible.”

“Mackenzie is a cat whisperer! I have a shy, elderly cat that has never let a petsitter pet her (even regular petsitters). However, Mackenzie was able to bond with my cat from the first time watching her and was able to give my cat lots of pets. I loved seeing videos of Mackenzie and Maddie's pet sessions. Mackenzie was thorough in learning about how to take care of Maddie and what to know about the house. She's a great communicator. I highly recommend!”

“Enjoyed meeting with Halle to help us with drop ins and possibly house sitting. She was very detailed and asked all the right questions. The dogs took to her after their assessment. Her first drop in visit went perfectly. She let us know when she arrived and when she finished. It was wonderful to have her let the dogs have some time outside in the middle of the time we were away from home on a Saturday. Will definitely book with her again.”
About: Hi, I’m Jillian. I currently own 2 dogs. A hound shepherd and mini dachshund beagle. Growing up we had a chocolate lab. Later on the family adopted a shepherd mix and then a husky. I also used to have an adorable little hedgehog and 2 birds. I currently work full time during the week and the occasional Saturday. Depending on distance I will be available for your pets for a mid day check in. I have experience at the Humane Society of Eastern North Carolina; walking/playing with dogs and feeding cats. I’ve also worked at an exotic animal farm (It’s a Zoo Life) taking care of the animals and assisting tours. I’m comfortable giving medications. Both of our family dogs take daily meditations as well as my hound shepherd. The husky is disabled, has had many surgeries and sometimes needs help getting around. I’m willing to pick up and drop off, bathe, walk and entertain your animals. I will also house sit, water plants or check mail if needed. I love puppies and kittens and I’m willing to stay overnight if needed. Exotic pets welcome! I currently work one full time job. Durning the week I have a break mid day. No breaks on the weekends but shorter hours. Depending on the distance of the address I can stop in on my break as well as before and after work. I like to stick to house rules of the owner. Please let me know specific things you would like me to oblige by or things to look out for. Otherwise the standard no crewing on people things only their own stuff, no getting on tables or counters, no biting, no pee/poop on furniture, etc.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience from working at a doggy daycare. I have a dog of my own and regularly care for my family’s pets, so I understand how important it is to have someone you trust. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cuddles, I treat every pet like they’re my own! I am a teacher and I am currently enjoying my summer off. I have tons of time to come play and care for your pets! I care for pets with a mix of love, attention, and routine. At home or at a client’s home, I make sure pets feel safe and comfortable by sticking to their usual schedule for feeding, walks, and playtime. I always give lots of affection, keep their space clean, and pay close attention to their behavior to make sure they’re happy and healthy. Every pet is unique, and I do my best to meet their individual needs with patience and care!
About: I’m new to rover, but I’m anything but new to pet care! I grew up taking care of all sorts of animals — goats, ferrets, guinea pigs, lizards, you name it! And in the last ten years, I’ve unintentionally built up quite a resume with pet sitting just because of my passionate love for animals. I am many pet owners’ go-to for pet sitting because they trust me to take care of their fur babies in the exact way they would, so you can trust me too:) My husband currently provides the only source of income for us, so my goal with Rover is to turn my pet sitting hobby into a little bit of extra income for us. Since I have no other job, I am free as a bird with an open and flexible schedule! I can easily adapt to your schedule and your pets’ needs:) I can easily provide whatever is needed for your pet. Your pet can run freely inside or be crated to your preference. The only thing I can’t provide is a fenced in yard, but our yard is huge and far from neighbors, and I have a totally free schedule to walk and entertain your pet however much you’d like. If I am coming to your home, you can trust me to follow whatever directions you have. You can also trust me to never take on more pets than I can handle just for the sake of the money, because my main objective is to provide excellent care above all else! We have one medium-sized dog, but he stays with “grandma and grandpa” while I am pet sitting unless of course you request for your pet to have some company!

About: Hello! I have taken care of animals big, small and scaley since I was 15. I would love to make sure your best friend is taken care of while you enjoy a stress free environment. Expect a daily update with 1 pictures of your best friend living the dream. I am a night shift weekend CNA/Medication Aide your best friend will enjoy a minimum of two walks a day, more can be added if needed. Currently I do not allow sleepovers at my house. I do this to make sure that your best friend is comfortable and their stressors are limited while you are gone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
