Animal Lover Extraordinaire!!

Hello! I'm back and active on Rover! My account was inactive for awhile, and now I've relocated to the Concord, NC area and excited to begin again and meet new dog visitors and their people -- YOU! I believe that all dogs are special and yours will be no exception! In my home your furry friend(s) will receive plenty of affection, individual care, and any instructions you provide will be followed perfectly, to the letter, including feeding, bedtime, crating, medications, exercise, etc. I am an expert in senior care. I understand that our senior dogs may have different needs than their younger counterparts (maybe more frequent potty breaks, as an example or help on the stairs). I realize and respect this and do whatever is necessary to make their stay with me comfortable. Seniors have earned and deserve a little different (special) attention, and you can be certain they get that here from me! My newly-fenced in back yard has lots of grass and ample running space. Multiple balls and water are available to make sure that everyone gets lots of exercise! Throughout your stay, I will send text updates and pictures so you always feel connected. As a life-long dog owner, I know how stressful it can be to leave our loved ones with strangers, so I strive to make both you and my furry visitors feel comfortable at all times! Since I'm retired, I can now also offer Doggy Day care -- the $45 rate is for full day (8-9 hr. days with drop off 7-9 am and pick up 5-6 pm), and the rate will be edited to $30 if only a half day (up to 5 hrs.) is needed. You'll have to let me know if this is the case. These rates are negotiable to fit your needs and frequency. I provide pick up and drop off service for a nominal fee, however for clients within 5 miles, I will waive the fee. I'm new to the area so this service is offered only within a 10 mile radius. As a reminder a night of boarding is a 24-hour period. This means consideration of drop off and pick up times must be taken. For example, if you drop off at noon, you should plan picking up 11-1:00. I will always ask about your plans prior to your visit. I expect texts to be kept informed of changes during the visit. I'm aware of flight/travel delays and try to be flexible within reason. I'm retired and have two dogs of my own, so I work my daily routines around them. I will never be gone more hours than anyone can handle. I'm sensitive to their needs -- especially the puppy and senior! I have a fenced in yard and two dogs to keep your fur baby(ies) company. I have crates and baby gates available to separate if the unforeseen should happen. In all the years of dog sitting I've never had a fight and only once needed to separate a day care dog from the others.

Norma goes above and beyond! She communicated very well, even while I was abroad, and truly took the best possible care of my cats. I very highly recommend her as your future pet sitter!

We just moved to the area and used Norma for the first time as we headed out on our honeymoon vacation. She was very responsive and gave us many updates throughout our dog’s stay. Overall a pleasant experience!

Norma took good care of Tanner, sent pictures every day and kept us informed on his well being. I would use her again when the need arises.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 3 dogs
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Because I have dogs of my own, I cannot stay at your home. I am, however, willing to drop in during the work day for a potty break and feeding. In my home, I try to mirror what you do in your home. If he's crated at night at home, he will be here. If he eats 3 times a day at home, he will here also.

Pets

A typical day

The fenced-in yard allows for a lot of play time and running. If your furry friend enjoys being brushed, or playing fetch, we can do that. If they just enjoy cuddling and watching old movies, I can do that too!

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Norma can host up to 4 pets per night
Your furry friend must be house trained, and neutered or spayed. For the safety and comfort of all my visitors (and my own dogs and myself) all visitors must be up-to-date on all vaccines, heart worm medications as well as flee/tick preventative. My pet insurance company requires a copy of his/her current fax records be on-site. A chat between us first, then a meet and greet at my house is required to be sure everyone is compatible. Is he/she crated when you leave the house or at night? What are their habits and quirks (eating, sleeping, medicine, any aggression issues or illnesses?). These are some questions we'll discuss in our initial chat. Your furry friend can sleep anywhere he/she is comfortable --please bring their beds, blankets, etc., whatever will make them comfy and happy. Will your pet be comfortable out back with others to do his/her business? If not, he/she can go out alone with me. I don't have breed preferences, but I must have a dog that knows basic commands (come, stay, etc.).
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
