“July 2017 was the first time I used Rover. A specific dog sitter was recommended by a friend. I registered on the site, managed to locate the sitter my friend suggested and set up a meet and greet. The sitter was great and helped me find Norma, located in the same area. Norma and I connected and set up a meet and greet. She was very patient with me and my dog who isn't around other dogs often. Although easy going and calm, my dog's behavior was unknown and unpredictable around other dogs. He's easily excited around other dogs at times. Norma and I wanted to make sure the long stay (10+ days) would be a good fit for everyone. During the stay, Norma provided updates daily. She sent status reports along with pictures and asked questions to determine how to get the desired reaction from my dog or to find out what she could do to mimic our home routine. Norma was also flexible with pick up, drop off times and easily agreed to a one day extension. She's a true dog lover and treated my dog as one of her own.”

About: I got my first dog at 15 and have never gone without pets since. I have service dogs and I’m comfortable with working breeds and the training that is associated. I also have a cat, several reptiles, and some misfits critters. There’s really not much I won’t be able to handle given enough information concerning your pet. I’m also a former medic and have plenty knowledge for special needs animals and identifying emergencies. Pet care is the start and end of my day, a lot of my schedule revolves around my mini-zoo. I’m a part time worker with full control over my schedule which allows me to focus deeply on my animal’s needs. I care about my pets as if they are family. Their activity levels, training, affection, diet, and rest are an every day concern. Others pets would be seen the same way and given the same level of care. I have plenty alternative means of caring depending on the pet personality as well, I.e. kennels, separate or same rooms, special walks and even some training thrown around in.

About: Since birth grew up with a family dog, German Shepherds, a Lab, and at 10 years old I was given responsibility for my own dog a Maltese, Le Petite Pookay( Pookie for short). When I went off to college my Mom stole(inside joke) adopted her and I haven’t had my own dog since but over the course of the past 20 years Ive watched plenty of friends and family dogs and pets. Some claim me to be the Dog Whisperer as even shy pups seem to gravitate towards me. This last year, while transitioning to the Charlotte. NC area I stayed with a Rover host and helped out. And now that Im in my own place, a two story townhouse, I’d love to continue to host and care for your fur babies. I really miss having a furry family member around but truly excited for the opportunity to take care of your animal loved one. I do know about providing excellent customer service, the importance of integrity and working hard with the importance of humility. Service is the heart of who I am and know the special bond our family furries hold in our lives. I can't wait and hope to care for your furry loved one soon! I work from home, so my availability to host is flexible and open. I also, don’t leave the house too often for long periods and will be attentive to caring for your pet. My first floor level is open for your fur baby to free roam, but can also crate if preferred. I have a few areas with tile for easy cleaning. In addition, I have a backyard with some enclosure but have a tie down to attach to collar or harness for first and last pet relief but my subdivision has a dog walk trail for walks and extended exercise.

About: I have spent my whole life around dogs. My dad was a dog trainer in Alaska so I was able to learn a lot from him over the years. Since then my family has had our own dog which sadly passed away a year ago after 12 sweet years together. We have dog sat for friends and family over the years as our home makes a great space for dog sitting, but have not professionally dog sat before until now. We work from home so your pup will rarely be on their own. We also have a fenced back yard so they can play outside safely! We have three daughters that love to play with dogs so they will keep them perfectly entertained. We enjoy family walks in our neighborhood that your pup would join us on! We currently have no other pets after our sweet dog passed away a year ago. About: I love dogs and have enjoyed working with them in many capacities since I was a child and formally for over 15 years. I am a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and have spent years training loving companions. I am certified in Canine CPR and First Aid by the American Red Cross and undergo annual recertifications to stay current on the latest first-aid procedures. I also have experience administering both oral medications and injections. Before your pups stay, we have each family fill out a form for their furry companion. This helps us get to know them better in order to make their stay easier. I have no breed preference and are familiar with handling working canines. Your pup is welcome in our home, and our couch is open to your furry pooch. However, I also understand there are dogs who prefer to be outside and are not easily accommodated indoors. I also have covered outdoor runs for those families who still need a vacation but whose pups enjoy more fresh air and natural surroundings. I am happy to accommodate each family's preference. No matter what, canines are treated to lots of exercise and playtime. I wake up and start the day off with morning let out. After each group has been let we come back in for feeding. Morning feedings normally allow for 30-45 minutes before letting out again for a potty break. They are brought back in, crated, and pups are rotated out for play inside throughout the day. I let out every 2-4 hours through the day or more if needed. I do have the option to add on trail walks for those who have social canines who are good with other dogs and people (I will not be introducing them to others but it is a requirement to the trail). In the evening we normally do the last feeding at 7 pm followed by yard play and starting to settle in. Last potty break is at 10 pm. Note: Although I am at home full time I do on occasion leave our home to run errands. Your dog can be left alone for up to 4 hours (max). If this is ever the case your pup will always be crated and secure. For your pup's safety They are never given free rein while unsupervised. I take the safety of your furry companion very seriously. Canines are let out for potty breaks every 2-4 hours (or as needed, if required more frequently). I have a fenced-in yard so your pup will be safe during potty breaks. I do not allow companions from other families to play with each other. This is a safety measure. Your pup can be under a lot of stress when you're gone and I want to make their stay as smooth and relaxing as possible. This doesn't mean I will not be playing with your pup ourselves! I love playing fetch, puzzle games, and even tug with them. I do allow for several outings in the house throughout the day so they can get plenty of one-on-one attention inside as well as extra pets. I have 5 acres that are attached to the national preserve. If your furry companion is social and enjoys walks, I have several trails I am happy to take them on upon request (weather permitting). All outings are on leash only.

I can often be in the home caring for your animals or taking them out more often than a traditional sitter who works a 9-5. I also have a shop dog who loves to be active and play in the water. I always have cat and dog food laying out and multiple water bowls around the house. I do allow my fur babies on the couch and bed.

“July 2017 was the first time I used Rover. A specific dog sitter was recommended by a friend. I registered on the site, managed to locate the sitter my friend suggested and set up a meet and greet. The sitter was great and helped me find Norma, located in the same area. Norma and I connected and set up a meet and greet. She was very patient with me and my dog who isn't around other dogs often. Although easy going and calm, my dog's behavior was unknown and unpredictable around other dogs. He's easily excited around other dogs at times. Norma and I wanted to make sure the long stay (10+ days) would be a good fit for everyone. During the stay, Norma provided updates daily. She sent status reports along with pictures and asked questions to determine how to get the desired reaction from my dog or to find out what she could do to mimic our home routine. Norma was also flexible with pick up, drop off times and easily agreed to a one day extension. She's a true dog lover and treated my dog as one of her own.”

About: I got my first dog at 15 and have never gone without pets since. I have service dogs and I’m comfortable with working breeds and the training that is associated. I also have a cat, several reptiles, and some misfits critters. There’s really not much I won’t be able to handle given enough information concerning your pet. I’m also a former medic and have plenty knowledge for special needs animals and identifying emergencies. Pet care is the start and end of my day, a lot of my schedule revolves around my mini-zoo. I’m a part time worker with full control over my schedule which allows me to focus deeply on my animal’s needs. I care about my pets as if they are family. Their activity levels, training, affection, diet, and rest are an every day concern. Others pets would be seen the same way and given the same level of care. I have plenty alternative means of caring depending on the pet personality as well, I.e. kennels, separate or same rooms, special walks and even some training thrown around in.

“First time using Rover for our dog Luna. We were a bit skeptical to use this app but after going through reviews and finding Lyann she made it super comfortable with us. Having a meet and greet at the dog park went great and safe for us and our dogs to get to know each other. She answered any questions we had with concerns for our dog. Lyann communicated with us well during Luna’s stay. Sending us videos and photos every evening with updates. Provided toys, a crate, blankets, food bowls, water bowls etc was great because we didn’t have to carry anything but her favorite blanket and food. She also provided a GPS tracking collar for Luna which made us feel more comfortable having her there. After the stay, Lyann washed her blanket and gave Luna a complimentary bath before we took her home. Happy with her services she provided for us and our dog!
