I Love Them Like You Do 🐕 🐶 🐩
I really love dogs and know I can provide the care I’d want for my dogs so I welcome dogs to our home when we can. If you send me a request I’ll let you know my schedule ASAP. My sister Carolyn (redhead in photo) lives here too and helps when I’m at work but I am the primary caregiver. Definitely a "crazy dog lady." I believe dogs are the best things on earth! Cats are second. Yes, I would run into a burning house to save my dogs. 🤷🏻♀️ I understand not only how hard it is to leave your dogs but how expensive it can be! I couldn’t afford most of the rates on here so I keep my rate at what I think is reasonable (Rover gets 20% & any fees) but your babies will get wonderful care and lots of love. I currently have a 9 ish year old male Beagle, Bailey Boo. All the dogs I’ve had over the last 28 years have been rescues. I would NEVER buy or breed a dog but one of the fun things about working on Rover is caring for & getting to know so many different breeds. Bailey (a foster fail-I couldn’t let him go) is from the amazing rescue I’ve volunteered with for many years-CrisisDogsNC. My sister Carolyn ,who lives with me, also adopted a dog I was fostering for CrisisDogsNC. Her dog, Anthony, is about 10 and a chihuahua-whippet mix. He’s friendly & playful but will bark like a lunatic when you drop off and pick up 🤷🏻♀️🙄. Anthony needs to be acknowledged. Our dogs are very nice and have never fought or bitten another dog but they have gotten older so they’re not as playful as they used to be. They like to play briefly and intermittently 🙄. If you want your dog to have an enthusiastic playmate you should look elsewhere. I can’t make my dogs play but I will play with, be attentive to, and give your dog lots of love. My yard is big, fun, & fenced but if your dog is an escape artist and is “born to run” and jump fences I’m not a good fit. I live 1.5 blocks from Wendover Ave and don’t want to risk it if there’s a good chance your baby will escape. I've never met a dog I didn't fall in love with. I'll care for your babies with my whole heart. It’s hard to trust anyone else, let alone a stranger, with your dogs but I do this bc I love it! I’ll definitely fall in love with your dog while they’re here. I always send lots of photos and updates-at least 3-4 per day.

She was amazing with my Lunatic Bear! She’s sent pictures and videos of my Luna Bear, along with my furnephew Elwood. Luna seems like she had fun with her again.
Ellen has done amazing with my Luna Bear! This was our first time with her and Luna seemed to be doing great! I love the pictures and videos she sent too.
I had a great experience with Ellen. She sent frequent updates with photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while my dog Bailey was with her. Bailey made herself cozy on the couch, completely at home!

The absolute best! She really cares and loves the doggos and wants the best for them. It is evident in her prompt communication and lots and lots of picture updates! We are so sad we found Ellen so late but thank you for watching kuro and keeping him safe and calm.
Ellen was a life saver. My dog sitter cancelled on me last minute so I reached out to Ellen and she decided to watch my doggy with no hesitation. She made my doggy feel right at home and made sure she gave me daily updates on her.

I started a new job at Walmart after an exhaustive and frustrating six month search. It’s very difficult for older job seekers regardless of higher education and experience! Please let me know what your dogs need and I will quickly let you know if I am available.

I have a large fenced in yard and a small home. Dogs are allowed in & on everything. There are very few rules here. I follow your instructions and do everything I can for them. I will definitely fall in love with your dog.

A typical day
Mostly I just want the dogs I care for to feel loved & happy. It’s always hard when they get dropped off & their mom &/or dad leaves but dogs are so adaptable. I make sure they get plenty of attention and affection throughout their stay. Every dog is different so just tell me what they like & I’ll do my best to make it happen As far as walks, it really depends on dog & the weather. I strongly believe that walks are happy time for them so I want them to stop & smell & enjoy their walk. It’s okay if your dog pulls. I’m used to it.
